Fernfur padded back over to Shadowheart. "You coming?" she asked.

Shadowheart snapped back from his thoughts and smiled. "Oh, yes, I'm coming. Sorry." He stood and followed her and the new apprentice into the darkening forest. His sleek pelt brushed Fernfur's as he walked beside her, and he could basically feel her excitement of being a mentor radiating off of her. When he was given an apprentice, he wasn't one bit pleased that he would have a young cat following him around and asking him for advice constantly. But Stormpaw was a gentle and polite young she-cat, and he felt glad that he was chosen to train her.

Ashcloud stirred as Nightshade entered the nursery. “Oi,” she said groggily, but her whiskers twitched. The four healthy kits curled at her side were starting to climb all over each other. “They haven’t opened their eyes yet,” she whispered. “I think they’re going to. I’m hungry. Would you care to bring me something, love?” She licked him on the cheek. “I’m so sorry. I’m just exhausted.” She closed her dark blue eyes and opened them. The kits had been moving all around all night, and her speckled, pale gray fur was kinky and sticking up in odd places. It was still soft, though. The kits mewled loudly. Ashcloud herself couldn’t stifle a yawn. She turned her sapphire eyes on Nightshade again.

F e r n f u r . . .
Fernfur bounded up to Featherpaw. “C’mon! We’re going battle training today,” she mewed excitedly. Her green eyes sparkled in the morning light, and her dappled gray fur was scruffy and unkept. The undersized she-cat licked a paw and drew it over one ear.

Smokefur placed a paw on Kestrelpaw’s tail. “Ready to go? Battle training. With Fernfur, Pale-eye, Falconpaw, and Featherpaw.”

P a l e - e y e . . .
Pale-eye gently nudged Falconpaw awake. “Battle training, bring Rockpaw, too,” she mewed.

N e t t l e k i t . . .
Nettlekit’s eyes opened. They were a combination of her parents’: Nightshade’s green eyes and Ashcloud’s blue eyes had muddled together to make a deep, beautiful teal.

Junerain blinked and got out of Nightshade's way muttering some sort of 'good morning' as he passed, he yawned and frowned looking at Strippedtail, "wait... An you say why you woke me up again?" he blinked and licked a paw passing it over his ears as he watched her curiously with tired eyes still.

Nightsky padded over to Wildflower's den, he stuck his nose inside and searched for the bundle of matted fur his love had turned into to. "Wildflower~" he called softly in case she was still asleep.

Raccoonstrike shifted his paws. Opening his eyes, the young tom rolled over and sat up in his nest. He yawned widely and brushed his muzzle with a paw, blinking rapidly to clear the sleepiness. He sniffed quietly and gave his shaggy fur a few swift licks, then stood up. Time for some training. He flexed out his paws and then strode from the warriors' den, emerging into the sunlit clearing. He shook out his thick fur and padded forwards, heading toward the apprentices' den to wake his apprentice. He poked his head inside, searching out Tigerpaw's tabby pelt. "Tigerpaw!" He called softly, wanting to get out of camp before the rest of the Clan awoke and busied up the clearing.

Sorrelpaw opened a forest green eye at the siblings' quarrel. "Oh, hush." She murmured crossly, her tortoishell tail flicking back and forth for a moment before placing the tip of it on Tigerpaw's mouth. Laying it back in her nest, she added, " S'too early to be arguing....." Realizing that she probably couldn't fall asleep again, Sorrelpaw got up, beginning to groom herself before she went out to hunt.

Rabbitleap walked slowly out of the warrior's den, blinking his eyes against the dawn light that filtered into camp. Spotting Kestrelpaw, he picked up a sparrow and headed towards her, waving his tail in greeting. "Good morning Kestrelpaw., He chirped, settling down beside her, "Mind if I chat with you before I go hunt-... Or not." He added, noticing Smokefur.

Larksong headed out of the warrior's den, looking around. "Mind if I join you?" He asked Pale-Eye and Smokefur, looking from cat to cat.


At the sound of a faint thump outside of the nursery, Ospreyfeather woke up, a bit startled. Pausing a moment to clear her head, she peered outside, her blue eyes still sleepy. Noticing the rabbit and thrush that was left outside, she assumed that an apprentice, probably Kestrelpaw, had brought them breakfast. Picking them up and taking them inside, Ospreyfeather dropped the rabbit in front of Ashcloud, taking the thrush to share with Blank-kit and Ghostkit.

Blank-kit woke up abruptly to the sound of a small squeal. From those annoying kits no doubt.... She thought with a hiss to herself, And with Ospreyfeather's kits coming soon, I'll never get a decent sleep.... Trotting out of the nursery, the tiny white kit wasn't looking where she was going, and soon bumped into Jayepaw.....

Pale-eye nodded calmly. "Of course. Yeah." She gave Larksong an odd look.

Larksong frowned slightly. "W-what...?" He asked, his ears twiching, "I-is there something in my fur, or something....?"

There was an amused light in Pale-eye’s irises. “No. Nothing odd about you at all.” She had him all figured out. Pale-eye purred loudly. He had a surprise for him at the end of the day.

"Go on dawn patrol while you're out." Shadowstar spoke up, speaking to Smokefur, appearing out of nowhere silent as her name. She was heading for fresh-kill herself, and noticed it was getting crowded. She nodded to as many cats as she could, before settling just on the outside of the small group muddling around. She didn't mind too much playing the role of both Leader and Deputy while Ashcloud was out nursing her kits - those of which she was yet to see.

Nightshade nodded to Ashcloud, purring in a soft voice. "Of course." He mewed, but was interupted by both scent of Kestrelpaw, brought with rabbit and Ospreyfeather. His eyes were sparkling with an unusual - and rare - light and fire. "Breakfast in bed." He purred. "How lucky." He began to groom Ashcloud's pelt.

Kestrelpaw tore her tail out from underneath Smokefur's paw as soon as he placed it there, and she craned her neck to look behind her. Rabbitleap had been speaking to her but she barely heard a word as Smokefur spoke over him - then Shadowstar appeared, and she was trying to keep up with everything. Paying the most attention to Shadowstar, to go on dawn patrol, she gobbled down the rest of her warm meal and stood, grooming the chest fur that always stuck out randomly, at the randomest of times.

Tigerpaw let her back return to normal and hackles flatten out. She relaxed, anger subsiding, and grumbled to herself as she padded out of the den. Soon, her mentor approached her and she listened to Raccoonstrike, remembering the Warrior Code: Serve your Clan before you are served. Or something along the lines of that. She blinked her amber gaze and flexed her claws before nodding and following the striped-tailed tom.

Jayepaw was close to the fresh-kill pile and the rustling can when a small body bumped into his front left leg. He looked down, hazel eyes full of amusement. Blankkit had just ran into him. Letting out a low purr he sat down, curling his tail around his paws. "Up this early?" He mused, whiskers twitching.

Featherpaw was glad Fernfur had located her and she nodded vigorously. However, the grumble in her stomache was nearly audible and she lowered her head a bit in embarrasment. By now she could have been up and eaten already, but now, she would have to feed her clan first, before she was fed.

Fawnkit let out another screech when she was unable to find her meal. Soft voices were cooning around her, names and items were being placed into speech but she didn't exactly understand anything. Helplessly lost she began heading in the opposite direction as her mother, her tiny legs struggling to drag her accross the soft plushie material she was resting on.
