Dreamsnare snorted and took off after Elanor, without needing to really catch up. One of her great skills were running with elite speed. She smirked and let her hair billow behind her in the wind that took hold of it, for she was speeding faster now. She could sort-of sense the burning sensation of her spine, her spikes wanting out....to let her demonic side take over. She couldn't control it.

Spikes of long, black and green shot out of her spine, her back arching wildly as she gasped. Her eyes turned a purple-black of a midnight dreary and her body arched again, a long tail whipping out of her tail-bone with small, yet sharp spikes at the tops of it. Her head seemed to be the same, but two long horns, as if she were eoither a dragon or a long horned sheep, had shown themselves elegently on her head. Even if she looked like a freak, she was still amzingly beautiful.

She could sensre Silent close, and her eyes darted every which way to find him. She had to admit, she was a bit curious about this boy now, and she wanted to learn more. "Where are we headed?" she called back to Elanor.

Elanor shrugged. ''Don't really know, I am following his thoughts'' she said, her hazel hair untying with the wind. She pretended to ignore t as they darted through the gates, past Aenar's alleys and avenues.

''This boy can yet give us some trouble; his mind's so... different from the ohers.'' Elanor said. ''Plus, he has been attacked; he wielded a great power as defense. He can be dangerous... he has the hate of many.'' She said solemnly as she suddenly halted. They were at the border of the city, on on of the many dark alleys that abounded on that grim place. There was mold and trash on the ground, but Elanor's 'gift' warned her: there was a conscious being in there too.

She carefully made her way, until she stopped in front of the boy. ''Hello'' she whispered. ''Do you need help, Silent?''

Silent jumped backward and landed on all fours. His eyes flashed dangerously. Then he saw who it was and slowly, he stood up. Yet he remained in a slight half crouch form. He cocked his head slightly at them, confused. Then his eyes grew somber and his shoulders slumped. He winced and retreated into the shadows, mentally preparing himself for more beatings.

[Rayen]

Elanor momentarily closed her eyes. It wouldn't be easy, though she'd try. She spoke on a limpid, clear tone, the one she had always used to make the Lords of Aenar listen to her.

''Hear me Silent. I understand why you run away, you've starved, been beaten, hurt. But - and even if that sounds strange to you - I want to help you. I despise what this city's coward have done to you... but I need to talk to you. Silent, you are in danger. I felt them--'' Elanor's voice broke suddenly, and she gulped to get it back. ''I heard them, inside. They're after you, they'll have no mercy. And I saw your power too. You're not safe here.''

Elanor hoped Silent would trust her. ''If you'd ask me why am I helping you, probably I'd have no answer.'' she added whispering so only he could hear. ''You were mistreated for too long; time to get it an end. I felt all your suffering; I can't let it go on.''

Silent stared at her warily for a few minutes. Then very slowly, a sliver of that black and blue power reached out and touched Elanor's forehead. Instantly, his body relaxed and the power disappeared. He stood up and stepped towards them. He cocked his head slightly, staring deep into Elanor's eyes. Suddenly, his voice appeared in her head. It was handsomely deep and had a feral burr to it that made his voice sound kind, and yet strangely wild and unknown.

My name is not Silent, but Regalis...

His voice whispered. oddly enough, the way he spoke in thought, was as if he was unfamiliar with the language. He frowned slightly and withdrew his powers. He would speak no more.

(( Regalis literally means "Royal" In Latin. ))

Elanor bowed her head, aware of the honor it was. ''So be it... Regalis, sounds good.'' she said mentally too. ''If you want our help... a Ranger's help can do a lot, you know.'' she continued aloud, somewhat melodically. Her cloak floating around her body, in a mischievous way that made her look much more important than what she really was. In a moment, her gray eyes seemed to gleam in the penumbra, and her hair like strands of copper, and her skin as marble. Then, the rests of Regalis' magical power left her, and she was Elanor, the Ranger again.

Not completely the same, she would have noticed her diamond headband shine with some strange intensity in the dark, still traversed by the flux of magical energy. She shuddered, awaiting his reply.
