((Wow, long post! ))
Tom listened intently as he heard screeches, shouts and hisses. Frowning, he made out the voice of what seemed a woman. Was it a trap?
"We have to help her!" he said to the others in a hoarse whisper, scrambling out from behind the root "I think that... creature has attacked a person" He walked silently, hiding behind the trees. His furry feet didn't make the slightest noise as he stepped through the forest, hoping it wasn't a trap. Tom, you fool, you are crazy! said a small voice inside him, but he continued. Surely he could not leave someone to that fate? He stopped, gulping, as he waited for the others.

Minna picked up the sword, it was warm but not hot. 'How did that happen?' she asked herself putting it back in her belt. Checking to see if they were really gone she saw a small figure watching her. But that was not on her mind, seeing her horse lead on the ground breathing heavily she ran and skidded to a stop by his head. "Apollo?" she asked stroking him, seeing the sword had gone straight through the bone she held it tightly in two hands. But before she had a chance to pull it out it turned to black dust and blew into the leaves. Thinking Apollo would be OK ow she looked at his leg. The her eyes went misty with tears, his veins were going black and she knew he would become something evil. Sniffing she pulled out her sword and aimed it at his head, "I'm sorry boy." she sighed pushing it into the creatures skull. His blood dripped down a small root and she whipped her eyes. Pulling the sword back she put it in her belt forgetting about the figure.

((Awesome! I'm having a bit of writers block now *sigh*))
Tom closed his eyes and looked away as the "big person" brought her sword down on the horse, his eyes filling with tears. Slowly, he looked up again, gulping.
"Cory!" he whispered "Piper? Rosie?" none of them were in sight. He frowned and moved out a bit from behind the tree, trembling and hoping that the big person wouldn't harm him.
"Uh... ummm" he said, playing about with one of the curls on his head as he looked at Minna "Who-who are you? And what is your buisness in the Shire?"

Turning on her heels to face him she frowned, "Long story." she sighed crossing her arms, she could tell he was nervous and didn't think going closer to him would be wise. "You seem a bit far from the warmth of your Hobbit hole. Can i ask why?" she hummed lightly trying to be a kind as possible, she knew this Hobbits were never up for adventures and it was hard for them to leave a life of comfort of their Hobbit Holes, no matter how big the prize was.

"We are visiting some friends of ours in Bree" he lied, shivering slighty "But we met that... thing" he really hoped the woman would help them, as he was completely lost "My name is Tom Proudfoot, by the way" he said, trying to seem the nicest he could. When she mentioned hobbit holes, a great desire came upon him. Why couldn't he turn back? And so stay in comfort all his life? He shook his head wearily and looked up at Minna again.

Minna moved slightly closer ot him, "Oh, well i was heading to Rivendale. But i can't now." she sighed looking over at her dead pony. Turning attention back to the hobbit she noticed he seemed unhappy about his whereabouts. (Cursed WB. )
