What is a pigmented squid?
A pigmented squid is a white squid that has gained it's color by eating certain foods. Its eyes hint at the color of mate it's interested in.

The second in a line of rare pigmented squids. To get him, you must own a squid that is a similar or same color to his eyes, or has a similar coloring. He does not like to be with squids that don't have shades of orange or yellow on them and is hard to adopt unless the diver who wants him is wearing yellow.

Short Story: The moment he was born, his parent left him. He was a strange orange, unlike his parents, who were green and blue. They didn't like him, and gave him to an orphanage. He grew up, like every other orphan, bullied, teased, jeered. But he never gave up hope of overpowering them. He turned out to be a very intelligent boy, and grew up as a scientist. One day, he met a girl. She was his true love. In the end, he managed to find her, and proposed to her...the end? (I've got no idea how to end this XD)
