There's always a way. While my trip was free using airline points, I found out when I got to Anthrocon that I could have shopped around and got a bus from New York to the con for $15 round trip.

It takes about $10 for me to get to New York so I could have gone quite cheaply- about the cost of taking my lunch in for a few days instead of ordering a dinner or lunch. Look around now and see if you can't find a cheap deal

You have all year to find one!
Yes, but you live in the state of New York, about (I'm guessing since I am on the opposite coast.) 2000 miles or more closer to Anthrocon than I am and as such, there won't be any $15 bus tickets or low cost air fares and since I am low income... you might have thought of this... I don't have any airline miles because I can't ever travel.
The idea was a thought for Chicken Smoothie, not necessarily just for me. Not everyone is fortunate as yourself. Consider yourself lucky that you were able to make all those trips and see other places and gather all those airline miles when I've only ever been on an airplane once in my life and I didn't pay for it. The LOWEST fares I could find were over $150 round trip. I did a whole lot of research because I have chatted off and on with Nick for over a year now and wanted to meet him in person, Tess too but mostly Nick just because he's been so nice.

Uh huh. What I was saying is, you have a year to plan and scrimp and save for the next one.
A year to look for deals instead of complaining about how fortunate others are.
To be blunt, $150 is
very easy to get within a year.
I'm very well aware of how hard it is to go to cons. Plane tickets cost me 3 grand to go to them when I was in Japan, yet I was able to save the money and go once a year. It's nice to play the pity card and hope others feel sorry for you or try to attack others on how easy it is for them, but feeling sorry for yourself doesn't get you a plane ticket any faster. Just like the CS virtual game, if you work for something and want it hard enough to work for it, you can get it given enough time.

C'mon guys, let's not be so down if we weren't able to go to the con n_n I mean, I'm one of those people who really wished she could have gone/met the staff/gotten a mountain of cool stuff, but we can't have EVERYTHING we want. The opportunity presented itself, the staff took it, and was kind enough to let us know so that if any or even all of us had a chance to participate, we could. If not, it's too bad really, but like Firestar said, if you want to (and if the opportunity is there, in my case), you can always make a way.
For me it just kinda feels like we're asking too much if we even ask the staff to have made sure everyone who's everyone is able to attend Owo They already do so much for us and aren't even a whole established business or something (if you get what I mean), this opportunity was huge enough.
I'm just content to see the pictures and know that everyone who was there had a good time. <3
when first i appear i seem mysterious
but when explained i'm nothing serious{ characters · art shop }

THANK YOU TESS AND NICK & STAFF FOR YOUR WONDERFUL PICTURES, THE MERCHANDISE AND THE FORETHOUGHT OF LETTING PEOPLE KNOW WAY IN ADVANCE SO THOSE WHO COULD WOULD BE ABLE TO SAVE FOR IT.
One more long comment to firestar and I'm done because I am very happy with how Tess and Nick let everyone know about Anthrocon way early and all the pictures as well, and the future merchandise. I love seeing what I know I could never go to, so I look online.
I wasn't begging, I was only making a suggestion, so please refrain from calling someone a beggar, or saying they played the pity card, unless you would like the posts that come from them.
I was insulted by your comment about playing a pity card when I wasn't and I appologize for my drastic reply to you.

You're actually talking about a lottery. People send in money and only one person wins. The rest of them are out the money. CS hasn't allowed lotteries for virtual pets for many years now, so I have no idea why you think it would be a perfectly acceptable thing to do with currency let alone the fact that you're suggesting letting minors gamble as the majority of users on CS seems to be minors.
So yes, I am totally going to diss on what I believe to be an immoral and illegal idea.

I hope you realize from my PM that I am not in fact fed everything on a silver spoon. I know this might come as a surprise but I'm actually in your income bracket.

And who is the girl in the squid costume?
Staff were part of the table and rarely left. The squid girl is Akami's sister. Not sure if she has an account because that's how she was introduced to us XD
Ok Thank you! She was really cute.

I for one think it was a very positive event and while I envy the ones who got to go I'm just excited that it was enjoyed instead of upset that I couldn't personally be there!
I don't know many site owners who would even attempt to meet their fans, especially to fly into another country to do so! Most just don't care... so if you couldn't afford the trip or had other obligations or restrictions I would suggest simply trying to be grateful to be part of something with sincere founders. c;
Tess and Nick, you are both wonderful and I hope that in the future you are able to visit us again!
