The black tom laughed as he fell and licked Fernfur between her ears. "Congratulations. You have an apprentice, and now you have new kits in the family too." Shadowheart let out a deep, smooth purr. "Are you going to let me up, or are you going to sit on me all night?" He smiled warmly, his clear green gaze staring in her beautiful jade eyes.

•Rockpaw•

Rockpaw purred and ran over to Larksong. "Did you hear what happened?" He was nearly bubbling over with excitement. He was glad that Featherpaw would get to be in the apprentice den and he would have someone else to train with every once in a while.

•Falconpaw•

Falconpaw's tail twitched as he slowly followed his brother. He didn't much like kits. They were almost as annoying as Rockpaw. "Are we going to train now, Pale-Eye? Or is it too late for that? Oh! Are we going on night patrol?" He smiled and sat the way he had seen Kestrelpaw do it earlier.

A s h c l o u d . . .
Ashcloud yawned and smiled faintly at Nightshade. “I can barely believe it’s finally happened,” she meowed. “It’s like I’m in a dream.” She was slightly unnerved by how quickly Fernfur had left, but understood that her sister realized Ashcloud and Nightshade wanted space. Her dark cyan eyes opened again and she stretched her neck up to lick Nightshade’s cheek. Ashcloud looked beautiful. She had the ebullient glow of a new mother. Her pale gray fur seemed to glow around the darker gray speckles that flecked her silky coat gently. Her dark blue eyes had a unique shine to them that only came with feeling proud of her mate and kits. She had no thoughts for herself at all. “The other two kits are toms,” she mewed softly, wrapping her tail around the kits. Her gaze met Ospreyfeather’s. “The nursery’s going to be very full soon.”

F e r n f u r . . .
Fernfur raced outside. “It’s happened, everyone!” she called, overflowing with excitement. Her claws went in and out of the ground. Her eyes had a radiance unparalleled by anyone else as she scrambled over to Featherpaw. “Whew! I’ve gotta get outta camp,” she meowed. “Wanna go on an evening walk-hunt thing? Nightshade’s not your mentor.” Fernfur winked. “Maybe we can catch some fireflies.” The she-cat simply wanted to get out of camp. She was restless and happy, and couldn’t stand to be cooped up near the nursery a second longer. She had to catch prey for the queens and elders! “And perhaps we can sneak a story outta Volefur.” Fernfur hadn’t spoken to the elder in many moons. Life had caught up with the limber, happy young she-cat—not to mention her catmint. Fernfur’s tail twitched nervously. Featherpaw’d better keep her nose outta my nest. She hadn’t realized she was still sitting on Shadowheart and purred loudly. “Naw, I think I’ll sit on you. You’ll keep me warm.”

W i l d f l o w e r . . .
Wildflower let out a puff of air and grabbed a mouse off of the fresh-kill pile. Now it was evening, or sunset. This was her favorite time to watch the colors fade into Silverpelt and chomp happily on a vibrant piece of prey. Her green eyes gazed at the sky while she bit into the mouse again. So much had happened today, and it was more action than ShadeClan had gotten in a while. Ghostkit and Featherkit had gone missing only to be retrieved by half of the Clan. Fernfur had finally gained an apprentice, Featherpaw. Last but not least, Ashcloud had given birth to not three, as Wildflower had predicted, but four healthy, beautiful kits. Wildflower let a purr escape her muzzle. She trotted over to Nightsky and bumped him with her hip. “Wanna go on a walk together?” she mewed. It would be just like when they were apprentices. They could catch fireflies. She remembered the time he’d walked to the Moonpool with her and let out a purr.

S m o k e f u r . . .
Smokefur uncurled himself from Ospreyfeather. “The fresh-kill pile’s pretty stocked up, so I think I’ll take Kestrelpaw out for some battle training,” he meowed. “Or for a border patrol.” The sleek, dark gray tom trotted out of the den and into the camp clearing. His gaze swept around the dell with a strange intensity, as if he were committing it to memory for the first time. Smokefur could sense a change as well. A change in ShadeClan was coming. Any cat could tell.

P a l e - e y e . . .
Pale-eye nodded at Falconpaw and gave Larksong an approving jerk of the head. “Yep. We’re going on a night patrol,” she mewed. “It’s a chance to show you how to mark borders. We might be able to catch some prey as well.” The sturdy blue-gray she-cat licked one paw and drew it over her left ear.

N e t t l e k i t . . .
Nettlekit snuggled against her mother. She drank the warm milk, which would be her only source of food for a few quarter-moons. She felt a part of something very big already, although she didn’t yet know how to talk. She could tell special things would happen soon, to her, her mother, and her two brothers and sister. She thought she heard the word “nettle” but didn’t yet know what it meant. She nuzzled deeper into Ashcloud and felt Fawnkit next to her. She accidentally kicked her sister with a hind leg, tiny tail twitching. Although she didn’t know it, she was the oldest of the four kits. She had a dark, reddish brown tabby pelt and teal blue eyes. The teal color of her irises were the result of Nightshade’s green eyes and Ashcloud’s blue eyes concocting to create a misty cerulean. Ashcloud was right; Nettlekit looked precisely like Adderclaw, her father, whom she was named for. Including the eyes, though Ashcloud hadn’t seen them yet.

Shadowheart lay his head back down into the dust with a content sigh. Tonight was a great time for the clan. "I guess you will drag me under you through the woods all night? It wouldn't be setting a good example for your apprentice." He winked and slid nimbly out from under Fernfur. He shook out his sleek black pelt and stretched his paws one at a time.

Falconpaw waved his tabby-striped tail in excitement. "Yes! Hear that Rockpaw? We get to go on night patrol with the warriors!" He stood up, itching to get moving. "Who else are we taking?" His jade eyes scanned the clearing for anyone that could go with them.

•Rockpaw•

Rockpaw nodded and rolled his eyes. "I can hear, Falconpaw. I know we are going on night patrol." He blinked his huge green eyes up at Larksong. He was just as excited as Falconpaw, but he didn't show it. He ran his tongue over his top tooth that stuck out of his lips.

Nightsky was just back and had just set his hunting results (a pigeon and a few mice...) he chuckled softly when Wildflower bumped into him, "sure" he said, "well I guess I'll say congrats later...'' he purred and nibbled Wildflower's ear a bit, "off we go?" he asked.

"As dark as Night..."

I would like to proudly announce that we may very soon be having not one, but two new neighboring clans, ThunderClan and ShadowClan. They are ruled by Firestar and Icestar, and have different characteristics, perfect for all you unique roleplayers c:
It is owned by a user whom I refer to as Panda, and as soon as I get the okay from her then I'll be glad to post the thread for them both and you guys can apply any characters you wish there - or not - and all the while the three clans will be linked, their could be forbidden love, border confrontations, battles, travels to the MoonPool, and last but not least, Gatherings!
Once a month we will post on a certain thread and it will be just like the old ShadeClan for those of you who wern't on those old threads.
A select few will get chosen to go, and it will be like the Warrior books [for the most part].
I will keep you all updated and hope to hear good news from Panda soon!
