The dragon looked around as its scales finished attaching themselves, and it gave an echoing roar that somehow seemed to be coming from everywhere at once, then pounced on an orc. It didn't bite or claw the orc, simply held it down, and before the other orc's shocked eyes, the trapped one simply went limp, its heart stopping. The flames in the dragon's eyes brightened, and it gave another roar, then it saw Nightshade. She had landed, watching the other, and simply sat there as the skeletal dragon began stalking toward her.

Aragorn stared, amazed at the sight of the skeletal dragon. He felt his jaw drop but inmediatley regained his posture and sank his sword deep into an orc's throat. Still, he could not help but stare at the strange creature with awe.

Pippin let out a shout and pulled Merry out of the way, hiding behind a tree "Careful!" he shouted as fire began to sprout from the dragon.

Merry let Pippin pull him away. He was already too frightened to keep fighting, and a skeletal dragon that materialized out of the ground was not his idea of an ally. This one was even scarier than the firework dragon at Bilbo's party that he and Merry had set off. He didn't want the bone creature to come after him.

Nightshade lowered her head a bit, making an odd hissing, crooning noise. The skeletal dragon responded with a short growl, and Nightshade grinned. "Ha! It is you!" she squeaked happily, suddenly pouncing on the other and sending them both tumbling toward Aragorn.

"Smaug! It's Smaug!" Pippin cried "He's come to seek revenge on us hobbits! Run Merry, run!" he disappeared into the forest, running as fast as his short legs could carry him.

Aragorn hissed and jumped off his horse, who reared at the aproach of the two dragons. He stood up again, watching the two of them curiously.

Nightshade blinked after the hobbits, grinning. "No, sillies! Smaug was way bigger. Believe it or not, this walking bonepile is my brother, Sharpclaw!" she untangled herself from the other, who stood up, shaking himself to realign his scales. Sharpclaw turned toward Aragorn, his gaze traveling to the bloodstained sword, then dipped his head, hissing softly.

[Meriadoc Brandybuck]

Legolas shot a few more arrows through the chests of the final orcs and bowed to the dragons. "Thank you for your assistance. We are in debt to you and your kind. I sense that we shall be even more indebted by the end of this upcoming war." He replaced his bow on his back and stood up, looking towards the hobbits. "You may come out now." Merry sheepishly crept forward to stand by Aragorn, looking at the dragons in embarrassment.

(just FYI, Sharpclaw is around a foot taller than Nightshade)
Sharpclaw looked over at Merry, tilting his head and growling softly. Nightshade smiled slightly, saying "Sharpclaw can't speak anything but dragontounge. He says last time he checked, Smaug was still dead, and at the bottom of a lake." the skeletal dragon suddenly collapsed, scales falling away and bones separating. Nightshade glanced down at him. "Like that, huh?" the other reassembled himself, nodding.

Aragorn stood up, and bowed, sheathing his sword. "I thank you for your aid" he said, dipping his head in thanks. "We are very grateful"
Pippin gulped and walked a few steps towards the dragons, obviously embarassed "I-I'm sorry for calling you Smaug, sir" he said, gulping and bowing down. Suddenly, he jumped away with a cry as the dragon collapsed, and drew a deep breath as he saw it didn't wish to hurt him.

Sharpclaw turned toward Pippin, lowering his head a bit and growling softly. Nightshade smiled a bit, looking over at her brother. "He says he thinks it's funny. He also says he doesn't bite, at least, not hobbits. Hmm, I'm surprised nobody's asked how a walking skeleton can be my brother, or how he can walk in the first place." Sharpclaw nodded in agreement, a few scales moving aside to show his fleshless ribs.
