Ashcloud felt a purr rumble in the back of her throat as the Clan meeting ended. She stood up and winced. She thought she felt kits kicking the past few days. She started to toddle towards Nightshade, Fernfur, and Featherpaw.

Fernfur...
Fernfur purred loudly. "I can't believe it," she mewed, almost bubbling over with excitement. Her green eyes shone as she looked down at Featherpaw. She finally had an apprentice! Fernfur thought she was going to burst. "Alright. So we start training now, yes? Or is it too late?" She looked up at the sky, trying to see what kind of weather was gracing ShadeClan territory. Her gaze swiveled to Nightshade and her whiskers twitched. "Thanks!" she blurted, bouncing back and forth on her paws. She was as wiggly as a kit.

Wildflower...
Wildflower yawned. Her whiskers twitched and she padded over to her den. She didn't like to join into big Clan celebrations; instead, she watched joyously from the sidelines, cheered when she was supposed to, and was a team player all the way.

Smokefur...

Shadowstar nodded to her clan, dismissing them with her icy gaze and turned, heading back to her den for now. If she was needed, someone would come and get her. Sighing, she flexed her limbs before leaping passed the hanging lichens and into her den, padding to her nest.

Nightshade congratulated Fernfur. Hearing her comment to Featherpaw, he flicked his ears and looked up at the sun. In about two hours, it would be setting below the horizon for sunset. Waving his tail, he cut in respectfully. "Maybe you should wait until tomorrow - I'm on dawn patrol with Tigerpaw and Smokefur, you could join us with Featherpaw." He suggested, his emerald eyes not scanning the camp for his mate.

Featherpaw was vibrating with excitement - her silvery tabby fur fluffed up. Finally, she was an apprentice. She could join Kestrelpaw, Sorrelpaw, Tigerpaw, and all the other apprentices! Fernfur, she knew, was a young warrior - but had clearly proven her abilities to be named her mentor. She was just about to agree with Fernfur, a bout of nervousness and hesitation coming over her as she realized, yes, this is real. Then Nightshade cut in and she was slightly grateful that she could rest for the night, unless her mentor still wanted to take her out. Hearing the black tom speak her new name was like music to her little ears.

Ashcloud...
Ashcloud felt a sharp pain in her side. Her dark blue eyes widened. Every muscle in her body seemed to tense. “Wildflower,” she grunted, jerkily moving into the nursery. She collapsed onto her mossy, feathery nest with a gasp. “WILDFLOWER!” she yowled. Her kits were coming. What was happening? Was it all going to be okay? Where was Nightshade when she needed him? Her eyes squeezed shut and she let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Fernfur...
Fernfur’s ears perked up as she heard the screams coming from the nursery. She winced. “Ashcloud’s kits are coming,” she murmured. Fernfur rested her fluffy tail on Featherpaw’s shoulders. “Time to go!” she chirped uncomfortably. She would stand with Nightshade outside the nursery if need be. Fernfur’s milky jade eyes flickered from the nursery to Nightshade and to the medicine cat den before returning to Featherpaw’s blue eyes. “You can go to sleep and I’ll wake you bright and early.”

Wildflower...
Wildflower appeared at the entrance to the medicine cat den. Bursting from her jaws were raspberry leaves, borage, poppy seeds, a stick, and a wad of moss dripping with water. She scrambled to the nursery, gesturing with her tail for Nightshade to follow her.

Raccoonstrike flicked his ears. An earsplitting yowl from the nursery made his fur bristle. Ashcloud was surely kitting. He knew it would be no good sitting around, so he decided to make use of his time and train his apprentice, Tigerpaw. Rising to his paws, the mottled tom strode off, searching the camp with his bright gaze. He wasn't sure if she was nearby, but he would look in camp first to be sure.

The white kit widened his eyes at the yowling and screaming and he was so panicked that he just dashed out of the nursery going to hide somewhere that not even he knew. He just got himself out of everyone's way and curled up on his hiding place with wide reddish eyes locked in the nursery, his heart thundering almost leaping out of his chest.

Well, since I don't really feel like adding the dead deputy > new deputy into the plot atm, if you would like one of your cats to become deputy - you may fill out this application and PM it to me. I will be choosing [and interviewing] the 3 best applications that I recieve. [So, like a contest, winner is deputy ]

This means you must be on at least three times per 7 days to organize hunting patrols and border patrols

Your cat cannot be any less than 16 moons old

Nightshade's stomache dropped as he heard his mates scream of pain. His emerald eyes narrowed and he took off to the nursery, flying passed Fernfur and pushing passed everyone, squeezing his broad black shoulders into the nursery. His kits were coming, and right now.

Kestrelpaw flattened her ears at the queens scream. Licking her jaws, she looked to Rabbitleap. "I'd rather not stick around for this." She murmered and rose, waiting for Rabbitleap to follow. That was if he wanted to.

Tigerpaw heard the commotion and said goodbye to Jayepaw and Sorrelpaw when she noticed her mentor. Uneasy and uncomfortable, she raced over to him, trotting at an even pace. "Hey Raccoonstrike!" She mewed, calling to him. When she finally reached him, she glanced at the nursery. "Sounds like Ashcloud is having her kits." She observed, watching a few cats gather around and some push their way in, like Nightshade and Wildflower.

Rockpaw jumped when he heard Ashcloud's yowl and crept quietly over. He listened with wide eyes as he huddled outside the nursery. He looked up at Fernfur with worry in his gaze. He hadn't been around a kitting mother before. "Will Athcloud be okay?"

Ashcloud...
Ashcloud’s eyes were half closed. There were four small kits suckling at her fat belly. Her whiskers twitched as she realized Nightshade was there. “How’d I do?” she whispered, eyes closing. She looked exhausted and happy at the same time.

Fernfur...
Fernfur was almost bursting with joy. Her first apprentice, and there were four healthy kits suckling at her sister’s stomach! She nudged Nightshade with a smirk. “Nice job.” She nodded at Rockpaw. Her sleek silver figure blocked the entrance to the nursery.

Wildflower...
Wildflower looked at Nightshade and Fernfur. “Nice to see the immediate family here,” she chirped, padding out of the den. “She won’t eat any prey until tomorrow.” A purr rumbled in her throat.

He thought of going into the nursery, but then decided that it should be a family time. The kits would be out and about soon enough. He blinked, turning his green gaze to the skies. "Thanks be to Starclan."
