Pippin listened to her words "Well that sounds amazing! I would definetly like to see those shimmering lights!" he imagined colourful jewels hanging from the ceiling with a dazzling light "So you are from Mirkwood, like Legs?" He didn't realize that he had just given this nickname to the elf, but continued talking "It must be awfully boring though, staying in the same forest all the time. All those trees... are too dark. I like the sunlight!"

Legolas fixed Pippin with a penetrating stare and clamped a hand on his shoulder. He was amused, and wanted to see what the hobbit would do if he pretended to be angry. "Legs? I am Legolas Thranduillion, whose home you insult. Boring? Mirkwood is fraught with danger, if you are fool enough to stray into the wrong parts. It is dark indeed, and perilous for the weak and unprepared. Do not underestimate its misty trails and dark boughs."

They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the deadwood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

Pippin noticed his angry glare.
"Sorry, Legolas... Thranduillion" he tried to seem intimidated, but he could hardly prevent laughing "Well..." he chuckled, still faking to be serious as he pulled a funny face "I still would not want to go there"

Nightshade turned her head toward the side, spikes raising. "Orcs coming! At least threescore!" she dissipated into shadows, flying directly up as a large number of orcs burst out of the trees near the path. One of them gave a gurgling cry and collapsed, and Nightshade solidified on top of him. She leaped straight up, giving an odd, birdlike screech, then dove right onto another orc, breathing a short blast of black fire.

Legolas reacted instantly, fitting an arrow to his bow and releasing it in a single blur of movement that the orcs would not be able to follow with their weak eyes. An Orc in the front line fell hard and tripped up the ones behind him. He notched another arrow as soon as the Orc had fallen and hit several more near his first kill before they came too close for shooting. Then he pulled out his knives and dismounted, deftly whirling them in circles in his hands, daring any Orc to come closer to him.

Merry's eyes widened at the sight of the orcs, and he glanced at Pippin in alarm before steeling his nerves and jumping off the horse, waving his sword and stabbing a large, ugly brute that lunged for him. He could see its nasty, yellowed teeth and feel the heat of its breath as it impaled itself on his blade.

Nightshade snarled, pouncing on another orc. She ripped the foul thing's throat out, causing blood to spatter everywhere. She raised all her spines, blowing another blast of flame, then pounced on another orc. She flew straight up, then circled a few times, intermittantly blowing fire down at the orcs, causing a good bit of confusion as flaming orcs ran all over the place, bumping into eachother.

Legolas backed away from an Orc after stabbing the vile thing through the neck. A few of the flaming orcs had caught the surrounding foliage on fire, and the dried plant matter on the ground was beginning to catch. Thinking quickly, he held a few arrows in the fire until the tips caught flame. He held them carefully between his knees before shooting them at orcs, piercing their armor with intensely painful results as the heat, fire, and arrow tips caused lots of injury among the enemies.

Aragorn was riding ahead when he heard the sound of battle cries. Unsheathing his sword quickly, he urged his horse backwards, raising the blade and bringing it down on the orc. He had thought that all this was over, but it wasn't. Still, wars did not end. With a shout, he decapitated an orc that had a fiery arrow in it's chest but was still alive, and rode in front of Merry just as an enemy came towards the small hobbit with a huge club. He stabbed the sword in it's chest and it fell on the floor. Aragorn gave a quick nod to Merry and rode off again, killing orc after orc.

Pippin backed away, frightened, but picked up his courage and frowned with determination as he unsheathed his small sword and ran towards Merry.
"Are you really sure about another adventure?" he said, breathing nervously and glancing around "Really, Merry. We could stay in the Shire! We were drunk when we agreed, don't you understand? Look at all these orcs. Not again!" he whimpered, glancing around warily.

Merry nodded to Aragorn in gratitude and raised his sword to block the stab of an Orc blade, then he shoved his blade into the throat of his assailant. "I know, Pip, but that's why I want to go. Ale is good and all, but I'm ready for the excitement again. Don't you see? You're a Took! You're supposed to be the adventurous one! But I want to see Minas Tirith again, and mountains, and Rohan! I want another adventure."

"Yes, I would like to see everyone and everything again, but look at all these orcs! We don't want them trying to take us to Isengard again!" he paused as a foul orc came towards him and stabbed his sword in the creature's stomach. " I would go if the way was slightly safer, but Tooks want adventures, not wars!"
