I wince as Nicole's arrow fires. "Oh. I see." I don't want her to kill any more people. It seems too painful for me to bear, let alone her. I slowly heave myself out of the hole, and look towards the body that she's cleaned out. "What did you find?"

Nicole:
"empty canteen, part of a loaf of bread, crackers & meat, thermal sleeping bag & night vision goggles" I smile and break off a piece of bread. I hand some to him then eat mine. I pause and look away from the bread, "I'm leaving now" I say to him

[. Jake

I sigh, and lean up against the tree. "Go," is all I say. I don't want to watch her leave; I want to keep her here where it's temporarily safe. I can't change her mind. I gnaw my way through the bread quickly, and find the crutch/cane she made for me. Slowly, I rise up and start to hobble away. My throat feels like its swollen shut, but I can't figure out why. It doesn't stop me though. I walk along a small trail, but before I get too far away, I look over my shoulder back at Nicole, memorizing her face before I die.

Nicole:
"Jake, wait!" I say running towards him "You said you had something for me" I smile the best I can.

I look down flatly. Leaning in towards her, my lips meat hers, but briefly. "I've always liked you. Try and survive, ok?" I turn around before she can give her answer, and I walk away. My heart is torn to shreds.

Nicole:
I stare after him in shock, slowly I sink to the ground. "Jake" I whisper "right back at you" I don't expect him to hear me but I hope he did none the less. I close my eyes and lean against a tree. Don't die, please Jake, I think to myself as I open my eyes and stare after him.

Nicole:
I single tear falls onto my leg and I stare down at it. I want to run after him but.... but..... I get up and run around a corner in the general direction he went "Jake" I grab him on the arm and pull him around to face me.

Jake glances back at Nicole. "Hmm?" he asks. He itches the back of his neck uncomfortably, already filthy from the few days its been.

Nicole:
I lean forward and kiss him. I pull my hand away from his arm and instead put it around his waist "If you die, I die" I whisper to him.
WB, sorry. Ur contagious Jerzey!

Jake shook his head gently. "No," he said quietly. "I can't live with that." He hugged her tightly. "We'll stay together until the top eight. Then we'll split for sure, ok?" He smiled gently, and rubbed his arm thoughtfully.
