I really like post apocalyptic RP's, I've been trying to think of a few plots for a while now, but I've never made an RP before (I always just participate in others) and am a bit nervous about trying it out.

Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about an inevitable end RP. Rather than after some sort of apocalypse, this takes place just before whatever disaster is about to occur. However, the world knows that it is going to end. People have known for years and have been expecting it, rather than have it happen out of the blue. Maybe the scientific community realized long ago that the sun would explode sooner than expected, or that an unavoidable asteroid will strike the earth. Whatever the reason, the world is definitely about to be destroyed, and there will be no survivors.

The RP would center around whatever kind of characters people would like to make. A prominent CEO, a housewife, high school student, whatever. The story would simply follow their final days, how they use them, how they cope with the knowledge that the end is near. I thought maybe each cycle of posts would count as half a day, and that the world would end in two to three weeks or so. Once the disaster finally happens, the RP ends.

This sounds really sad and awful, but I thought it might be really interesting! It would be lit, not semi-lit, I think. As I said, though, I'm a tad nervous about making my own RP, so if anyone is interested, feel free to make it on your own, and I'll definitely join. I might still make it if no one else does, I'll just have to conjure up some courage!

Fantastic. A beach holiday. But this isn't just any beach holiday. Instead of spending time with your friends at home, sun bathing in the beach, going to parties and having fun, you have been dragged away by your parents to go on a reality television show with nine other strangers. Why? Because of the prize. A quarter of a million dollars for each of the two winner. Yes, two. You're all going to be paired up with someone else, a complete stranger, and to win the money, you have to be 'the best couple'. That means spending as much time as possible together and acting like you're really in love. Exactly. So let's get started. Pack your bags, get to the airport and get ready to have the time of your life! One more thing;
good luck.

I have been playing with an rp idea for a while now, but the more I think about it, the more impossible it seems to pull it off. It’s an old school rp, by that I mean like the stuff I started out on, and it would involve a wolf pack, Native Americans, and ‘white’ settlers that have invaded their land. But the plot is not the impossible part. It would just involve the wolves and Native Americans working together to defeat the settlers and all that good stuff. The part that worries me would be keeping everyone on task and together. The best possible way I could think of doing that would be to collaborate with two different people, so there would be one person to moderate the wolves, one person to moderate the Natives, and one to moderate the settlers. The reason I would do a colab instead of picking someone once the rp starts is so that everyone is on the same page from the start, and we all agree on the plot rules etc.
But with that figured out comes another problem. Getting enough people and enough characters to make it worthwhile. There are three different sets of character spots that need filled, and in order to make it work, they need filled pretty equally. My worry is we will get 10 wolves, 3 Natives, and 2 settlers. That wouldn’t work; it would just turn into a wolf rp for a while then die out. Another worry is there will not be enough people to fill the character spots. I could put as a rule you must make at least two characters each from different groups, for example a wolf and a settler, or a Native and a settler. But I am afraid that would narrow down the amount of people who would want to join.
And this post has gotten a bit out of control hasn’t it?
If anyone took the time to read that could you please pass some critique or advice? The rp would be high semi lit of course, and there are still things to be fleshed out, but before I work any father on it I need to know if it will be worth my time, or if it will have to stay an idea in my head.

I've never seen an RP on here where there's an endgame [well, not yet], and I'm extremely interested in this idea. Usually the RPs just die without anything being resolved. Just thinking about all of different characters, their ways of coping and their end makes me excited about the RP, even if it isn't even made yet, haha. I encourage you to try making it. :] Creating an RP isn't anything to be nervous about, really. I mean, I thought like that too before I made my first just recently. Well, anyway, if you ever make it, I'll be the first in line to join.

Taima, that sounds really pretty cool. It's not a trying to survive after an apocalypse, but a how to cope when you know your demise roleplay and I really like that way of looking at it. It might be pretty miserable, but I think it would be really cool. Basically all my RPs up to this point have failed dismally, but I'd be happy to help you make it if you want, 'specially if you need formatting and someone to bounce ideas off of c:

EDIT: Ninja'd, but I still want to help, or join anyway even if you dont need help :D

@post-apocalyptic: that's a good idea bit may be difficult to pull off as a role play. From what I understand it doesn't really have a dynamic that might attract people to it. Furthermore, it's very finite. Some people actually do like that clear goal you made (I know I do) but some others like open ended plots.
Depending on the type of people that join it may be a very nice RP. As a whole, I think it may be better as a book format.
But that's just me.

@glittermousebb: have you considered seriously limiting the amount of people per group to perhaps three or four? With three groups it may be prudent to put a very specific character cap. I also find that smaller group RPs are much less chaotic than larger ones. I don't think three mods are necessary as long as the number of role players and characters arerelatively small.
If you say "this many people for settlers/Native Americans/wolves", you've just solved the imbalance of characters you were worrying about.

Hey guys. c:

Does anyone have any good literate roleplays open? I am game for anything, minus a few, but throw the link at me and I will see if I want to join. And by literate, I mean two paragraphs of 12-15 sentences each minimum.

Actually, these dystopian plots have gotten me thinking...I don't know how many of you know about it (you'd have had to have been on inklings and be interested both), but I have a story plot about 7 people whose birth signals the end of the world. I don't mean the world implodes or anything, but a new era begins. For example, my story is set in WWII following these people through the war until the events of the nuclear bomb (because post nuclear bomb is a new world that's bipolar). There's one that can see into the future, one that knows everything, one that can influence people with their voice, one that gains strength in response to avenging someone, a perfect fighter and warrior, and the last two can't die, although of those two one does die when the time is right.

Anyways, I would probably set it in our not too distant future as our world transforms into a new one. There'll probably be religious, cultural, and technological conflicts as these people try and usher in this new era...although whether by gentle nudges or by violent demands is up to the characters.

I would probably tweak the powers so there's not too much power playing and god modding, but that's the basic idea. Or do you think it would be fun in the WWII era? What do you think?

It would be strictly literate.

@Taima- That idea sounds really cool, I'd be interested in joining it if you made it.

As I would almost any post apocalyptic roleplay. Especially if it was similar to Falling Skies in any way shape or form.

On another point, I made the shifter roleplay I mentioned a week or so ago. The link is in my signature if anyone is interested. :)

Starbase Typhon is a roleplay run by me, off site. It is Star Trek based (but not the new movies, as you will see) and it definetly needs people who are willing to be active, write with great grammar, and of course, are semi-literate or above. Format is play by Nova, which involves multi-person posts that are a different way of doing things that here of CS. But it's lots of fun, and we need long term people who will help us complete our missions. As the commanding officer of Typhon, I invite anyone who would like to give it a try to please apply! (Warning that quality of applications is strictly judged. Very strictly judged.) The link is in the image.
