    "Please, call me Tempest."

Most of the flight so far had been silent. After all, what was there to say? They were mutant freaks, escaping from the nightmare that was the School... and they had nowhere to go. In other words, Echo could easily guess that everyone's hopes and dreams levels were at roughly zero. She looked up and saw another one of their group, a few yards above her. Not moments later, though, he'd retracted his wings and plummeted to Earth. She'd seen him around the School before, in the dog crates on the way to experiments, but she had obviously never asked for his name. The silence that was utterly engulfing all of them was getting sort of awkward, so Echo figured it couldn't hurt to go and introduce herself. Pulling in her wings and rocketing towards the ground, she came to a soft halt and a bit of a trotting stop. "Hey," she began, suddenly rather conscious of her thirteen foot black wings, which would stick out a lot in the normal world. Instantly she whipped them in and shrugged on the gray sweat jacket she'd tied around her waist before they escaped. "I'm Tempest. You?" Echo asked, her violet eyes scanning his face for something, anything. Emotion, thought... something that would make him seem more human, despite the fact that they were both concealing wings. Angels striving to be human beings, to escape their horrific past. It was impossible, though; as if they could ever come close to forgetting.

Echo blinked. Angels? Unlikely. Probably because angels don't live in hell, she thought bitterly. The thought of Erasers that would find them eventually passed through her mind like a bad dream; hard to hold onto, but impossible to forget. A small shudder raked through her body. Erasers. Human-lupine hybrids, one of the few successful experiments conducted at that hell-hole of a School. Her heart beginning to race as more vivid memories of their hunting practice at the School came rushing back to her, she swiveled around a moment and narrowed her eyes, scanning the area for anything that looked like a threat. Echo turned around to face him again, softening her expression so she wouldn't worry him. All of the avian-human hybrids were pretty cynical about how safe anything could be, so a look like the one she'd just been displaying would startle any and all of them --- including herself, if she'd seen it through a different pair of eyes.

Echo wished that she could rely on someone, have someone be the leader, so that she could ask the question. The one question and six words that she knew would be a problem for all of them; "What about food, water, and shelter?" They wouldn't last long without a place to hide; Erasers were skillful trackers, and had a bloodlust worse than anything. And obviously food and water were both a must. With the added bonus, of course, that they required more calories than the average human being to function at their highest and be healthy. Health. That wasn't something that she really ever thought about. Back at the school, every room stank of antiseptic and different cleaners, so she'd really only ever gotten sick once, maybe twice in her life. As much as they were cruel and vicious towards all of them, the whitecoats were also pretty careful with the merchandise. What the air smelled like right now, though, was garbage, and that was slightly disappointing. This was a pretty much new smell to her, too. Growing up in an evil science lab and being experimented on hadn't really given her much of a chance to smell a dumpster. It's not that she wasn't glad she hadn't, though; it smelled awful.

"I suggest we start walking to a different area..." she said, motioning for him to follow her. Echo walked only a few paces before she'd escaped the awful smell, but kept walking until she had found a comfortable place to sit under a tree.

Aiden's face grew green as the smell of the dumpster seemed to follow him. He moved away quickly before his sickened state became worse. He suddenly became aware of the prescience of another from the group he had escaped with. It was a girl who he had been near when they were in their cages. She had always seemed like one who he didn't want to mess with, so he never had. But now that they were on the run together, along with the rest of the group... They were going to have to talk to each other much more. Tempest? I had always imagined her with a different name... He nodded at her when she gave him her name, still trying to get over the sickness that he had just felt from the smell of the dumpster and dead body. "Hey," he hesitated a moment before telling the girl Tempest his name, "I'm... Aiden." He rolled his head around uncomfortably, meeting others wasn't exactly his forte. he then cringed when he still smelled the horrible stink. After a couple moments of being puzzled, he realized that the smell was coming off of his hoodie, which must have rubbed against the dumpster when he bended down. Stupid! Now you're going to be wearing the crap-jacket until you can find some water to wash it in. he turned around and looked around the city, then he grumbled under his breath, "And that's going to be a while."

He sighed as he had his back turned to her. The smell his hoodie was giving off was really bad, but he couldn't take it off and risk there be someone coming by and seeing his wings. The city looked pretty much deserted, and it was painstakingly clear that something had happened. He had heard that cities were supposed to be places that were filled with life and joy, but instead the first city he has seen since he got out of the School was completely void of both. He wondered what else those blasted scientists at the school had been hiding from them. Was every city like this? Or was it just their luck that they happened to land in this place... The city seemed to be growing darker by the minute, but Aiden knew that it was only his imagination. He wondered where all the others had landed, because here it was only him and Tempest, so what would the others be doing? The arm... It looked like it was reaching out to me... a shiver went up his spine as his thoughts wavered back to the arm he had found underneath the dumpster.

Aiden was pulled out of his thoughts when Tempest told him that they should go somewhere else. He shrugged, but he still followed her when she started walking. "Sure." At this point he didn't really care where he was, he just needed to get away from that arm. It was creepy, and it disturbed him greatly. He took one last look behind his shoulder towards the dumpster, but quickly he tore his gaze away and walked faster to catch up with Tempest. The silence that was between them didn't really feel like it needed to be broken, and even if he had wanted to, he didn't really know what to say. What would he say? "Which do you think is better, this place or the hellhole we just came from?" or "Lovely smell coming from that dumpster, right?" I mean really... When they came to a tree and she looked like she was about to sit down, he just stood a couple feet away. He didn't want to get in the way of whatever she was going to be doing. He looked around, scanning the area with his falcon eyes to make sure that there was no life that could see him. When he was sure that there was no one, he just threw his hoodie off of himself and let his wings unfurl. "Gosh that feels good." he quietly said before he stretched his wings. He then turned his gaze to Tempest, "Sorry if you smell anything, it's probably my hoodie." He didn't attempt to give any more explanation.
