~The Packs~
-The Uptown Strays-The Uptown Strays are normally medium or smaller dogs, with the occasional larger dog among them. They are prissy and arrogant, just two of the reasons they will never back down from a fight. They have a regular pack structure, in which an alpha male and alpha male rule over a pack, with other ranks layering underneath it. The alpha rank is inherited by a son, who then chooses a mate. Family members to alphas receive special attention.The Uptown Strays refer most commonly to themselves as "The Higher", as they prefer to think of themselves as royal and regal dogs. They think higher of themselves for the fact that they have better fed members of their pack, and they support a much stronger and deeper pack hierarchy.

The Downtown Strays are very much unlike the Uptown Strays, which is why the two groups don't get along very well. They are made up of larger dogs, and very rarely have a dog smaller than an American Pit Bull Terrier in their ranks. These dogs can be mean, lean, and very strong. Their home, the downtown area of the city, has very few restaurants to get food at, and thus most of the dogs have very little fat. Most are almost pure muscle. Because of this food shortage, however, sometimes dogs die of starvation instead of in the fight. The Downtown Strays do not rely on a regular pack structure. Each dog knows its place when it arrives, and accepts it. There is one leader, always male, and the dogs vote on a new leader when the old one dies. He who takes lead takes the finest fae for a mate. Their pups are treated like any pups, however.
The Downtown Strays have no special name for themselves, and prefer it that way.
