I never owned a pittbull but honestly I don't understand how it got its reputation ;P Aren't all dogs dangerous on some degree? I even find that most serious dog attacks on the news aren't by pittbulls. And like you said, Kamaliah, some dog breeds are just bad-tempered;why's the pittbull singled out?

Anyway, I don't understand why the DS lite is $130.That's kinda what's making me angry right now >_> The DS was $100, and if anything downsizing it should make it CHEAPER. Who want's to stare into a screen smaller than a GBA's for hours? I think I'd be partially blind if I did that XD

Pitts got their reputation for being the #1 breed in illegal dog fighting rings. It had something to do with their build and structure. They're singled out because of shows like Animal Cops that show the mean tempered Pit Bull from the dog fighting ring.

animal cops actually go out of their way to show that Pitts aren't like that. They always make an attempt to re-home the good ones and emphasize the human error in the bad ones. That show does more for the breed than any other

I think Dogtown might be a better example of that. they were the ones that took a lot of the Michael Vick dogs and trained them. Animal Cops does just about everything in their power to help those dogs and help the breed, but the dogs are almost always put to sleep if they're from a fighting background. Still a very good show though.

exactly, but the media only shows the vicious man-eater. They never show the good cases, and they never ever show the abusive owners who drove many of the more vicious ones to madness. Not that they can't be bad tempered on their own, but when a vicious dog attacks, it's not always the dog's fault, but the media fails to show that side of the story when it is true

Pitts can be either sweet or vicious. My cousin owns one that is the perfect example of the 'do no bad' type, but her boyfriend bought a puppy that, no matter how well he treated her and tried to train her, was just downright mean. She never attacked anyone, he made sure never to provoke her, but she growled and snapped.
Pitts used to have the nickname 'nanny dogs' because they where perfectly suited, the well trained ones anyway, to guard children without doing any harm to non-aggressors.
It's a shame that most of the time it really is a human error situation, but some Pitts, like all breeds, are just downright bad-tempered

But the dog fights are the owner's fault ;P It makes no sense... And actually Animal Cops never speaks ill of pittbulls, now do they? They even go out of their way to put the owners in jail and re-home the dogs if possible. It's not the cops' fault that the animal still has to be put to sleep.
