Kaslinth shrugged. "No idea, to be honest. You have courage, so why not? If I wanted to kill you, I could." He made a fake attack, buit turned his sword, holding it by her neck. He lowered it. "There has been a war today, I've killed enough."

Varias smiled back. "I'm glad."

Peitha smiled at him as they walked, "You never told me," she looked up at him since he was taller than her, "Why did you leave the dark side?"

Aeleah looked at Kaslinth, wide-eyed. How did he just do that? she wondered.

Kaslinth looked at her. "Spread your feet a little more. Not too much, just a little."

Varias sighed. "Long story... My father tortured me, my mother tried to piss me off all the time, hoping I would kill in anger. Sometimes she succeeded, then I sort of exploded in anger, even killing newborns... I didn't want that life, so I left."

Aeleah widened her stance just a little. She wondered at Kaslinth's motives for training her. Aeleah spread out her conciousness, touching the ancient and mighty oaks energy. She drew a little from each, and quickly returned to full strength.
