Elijah was just sliding into his car and byckling in as he received a text. He was about to ignore it- it as his Friday and he had been planning on going out, to eat alone at his favorite restaurant as he had no girlfriend. But, with a sigh, he did pull it out. His eyes widened at what he read, and he was jumping back out of his car and running to his room in a matter of seconds. It couldn't be! They had said they had it in control! Well, they had lied...
He carefully locked his room door when he arrived, releived to find his roomate was gone, a note tacked to the door saying he was going out for the weekend, to visit his parents a few hours away. Eliah didn't know if that was good or bad...
Without spending too much time to think about it, he dug out the hidden laptop from under his bed, and flipped it open, growing impatient in even the short time it took to boot up. However, on the exterior, he was the model of calm. Normal everything. His fingers flew over the keys on his keyboards, entering the varying passwords and security codes with ease. For some reason, he kept this laptop very secure, always nervous someone would get a hold of it. He logged on under Falcon, and waited for everyone else, seeing Artemis was already 'online'. His memory had grown rusty on what exactly hey were supposed to do, but he waited for orders like he knew he should.

Kale

Kale was doing nothing on this particularly lazy Friday evening. Normally, he might have been outside, watching the other students play games, but tonight he just felt like staying inside. Actually right now, Kale was baking chocolate chip cookies inside his dorm room. They were his absolute favorite and believe it or not, Kale loved to cook and was very good at it. As he hand-mixed his dough, without the chocolate chips just yet, Kale hummed a popular love song under his breath. Kale could seem heartless, and most of the time he truly was, but tonight he missed Katie. They usually made chocolate chip cookies together. The memories of it just-- it broke his heart. Over, and over again. Kale-- he couldn't even bear to think about the way she died. He just--ahg! It made him so angry!
Kale began stirring faster and faster in his anger, his tortured soul. When he finally slowed down, the dough looked like soup. Kale sighed to himself and added the chocolate chips, tried stirring as less as possible. Kale decided then that he would just put the dough in the oven tomorrow. He covered the bowl and put it in his refridgerator.
Kale plopped himself down on his Club Design white couch and turned the television to the news. What he saw kicked his brain into hyperdrive. A woman, skin hanging from her body and eyes red as blood. The signs were unmistakable. The way she walked, how she clawed the air as she dragged herself forward with every step. It was ZED, and the government was a fool for trying to convice anyone otherwise. 45 miles away? That's too close! He looked with internal panic to all the students frolicking outside. Then his phone vibrated and he whipped it out, knowing it would be Artemis. Thank goodness she was on top of things.
Code 576: ZED virus no longer contained. Virus is within 100 miles of campus. Government lying about containment in order to maintain control temporarily. Follow the proper protocols.

As Kale read the message, he was already groping under his couch for the laptop. His HvZ squad should be on soon, he quickly pulled up the Source, he had it bookmarked, and logged in under SldierMarcusLee. Marcus was Kale's middle name, but everyone on his squad knew that his codename belonged to him. His fingers were tapping rhythmically, as was his foot in perfect time. To an outsider it may have appeared that Kale had a song stuck in his head. But in Kale's mind, there was a piercing alarm ringing and lights flashing. There were people that needed protected, and his squad, this campus, needed to protect them.

Ashley
Ashley sighed in frusteration, clenching the phone in her right hand. She had been trying to get ahold of her brother and parents for hours. What she wanted wasn't that important, she was just determined to talk to them. However, after they didn't pick up, Ashley worried something could be wrong. She kept trying and trying to contact them, it wasn't working. She feared the worst. Ashley ran her fingers through her curly russet hair, straight back, getting it out of her face. Then Ashley's phone vibrated, and as she threw her head down, her hair fell back to the side of her face. Ashley pulled her phone out with some difficulty out of her maybe-a-little-too-tight pants to read the message and horror filled her soul.
Code 576: ZED virus no longer contained. Virus is within 100 miles of campus. Government lying about containment in order to maintain control temporarily. Follow the proper protocols.

"No!" Ashley muttered under her breath. "This so isn't happening." Thought flew through her mind. Ashley being the girl she is, completely broke protocol. Instead of signing onto the Source, Ashley put her laptop in her lap and flipped on the tv, straight to the news. The story was just ending, but the reporters made sure to note that the woman, feared to be suffering from ZED, was about 45 miles from their immediate location. Ashley dropped the remote. It hit the floor with a final sounding thud. "My family...it's no wonder they weren't responding! Maybe they're hiding. Yes, they've totally got to be hiding, in their shelters.. Mhmm, that's it."
As Ashley tried to console herself, she logged onto the Source under CodeAshley. Artemis, Elijah {At least.. she thought Elijah was Falcon..} and Kale were already on. Ashley's thoughts went to the sound shield, and the students playing around outside. They should activate the sound shield!

I will always be thankful for chickensmoothie and awesomesauce for cultivating in me a love for collaborating with others to create something great. This community has always been and will hopefully continue to be amazing! Young little RPers that are just starting out, my advice to you is KEEP GOING! As you mature, so will your writing, I know that roleplaying did wonders for mine, even though I was terrible when I first started. Keep on keeping on, chickensmoothie!Also staff if possible please never delete my account because i love to get back on and read what was once long ago lol

Leila

Leila lay, spred out like a starfish on her bed. It was Friday night, and with no friends or roommate to go out with she decided to stay in and catch up on some much needed rest. She got up as she heard her phone vibrate on the small table in the center of the room. She sighed and opened up the text message, reading the message.

Code 576: ZED virus no longer contained. Virus is within 100 miles of campus. Government lying about containment in order to maintain control temporarily. Follow the proper protocols.

Leila couldn't believe her eyes and had to re-read the message before she could fully get a grasp on what was happening. They lied to us! she thought angrily and rushed around to get dressed. She sighed, wondering where Badon could be but decided not to worry too much. I just hope he's not out drinking she thought, then reminded herself not to worry as much. She grabbed her bag and started pulling out all of her useless things finally getting her hand-gun. She slid a small knife into the side of her sock then stuck the gun in the back of her shirt, pulling her shirt back down over it. Leila grabbed a hair-tye and quickly pulled her hair up into a bun. She wasn't sure what to do so she waited by the door for further instructions.

Badon

Badon got out of his car and locked the door walking towards the door of one of his favorite clubs. He stood in line, smirking at one of the bouncers. He high-fived him as he walked past him and into the club laughing at the people behind him who were groaning. He walked over to the bar and sat down on his regular stool watching some of the people playing pool and ordered a drink just as his phone vibrated in his pocket. Thinking it was just Leila, he didn't look at it but decided too. He pulled out his phone and read the message.

Code 576: ZED virus no longer contained. Virus is within 100 miles of campus. Government lying about containment in order to maintain control temporarily. Follow the proper protocols.

His heart raced and he was so angry with the government. He ran his hands through his hair angrily and shoved his phone back into his pocket and hopped down from the stool making his way out of the club and pushed past the bouncers jogging to his car. Once he unlocked it, he got in and sped out of the parking-lot and back towards campus ignoring the fact that he was way over the speed limit. I'll deal with the cops later, he thought glad no-one had pulled him over as he drove tot he campus and got out locking his car and jogged towards his dorm room.

//Jason Riddick Todd//

Jason was in his room, blasting heavy metal music. His roommate was tolerant...or out of it. These days it was hard to tell. The stereo was loud, but Jason turned the volume on the tv louder. He was channel flipping. Of course there was nothing on. Even the few decent shows that were on at this time were reruns. Obviously, the people that set the programming don't expect twenty-something year old college guys to stay home on a Friday night. He didn't hear the phone ring, or see it vibrate so hard that it fell off his desk. He caught one glimpse of the news program and the words running under it: ZED virus on the loose? And he dropped his bag of chips and knocked over his soda trying to reach for his laptop. Cursing, he flipped the laptop open and signed onto the Source as: Bloodbird. There were about fifty people online by now, awaiting orders.

~Artemis Lorraine~

The number of people signing in was amazing. The HvZ Squad of Oakdale had good response time. Unfortunately, there were actually very few of them. They were about ten people shy of reaching 100 members. She felt some relief as she recognized names, both new and old. She wanted to speak to them individually, but there was no time. Orders would have to be given all at once, broadcast to all.

Chaoswolf: Alright listen up. We're starting with offense. I want everyone, all squads to move to North Campus and acquire their weapons. You'll be assigned weapons based on your skills demonstrated in training. Be careful, on your way to the Armory. Don't approach anyone too closely, make sure you get a good look at them. If you can confirm that a member of your HvZ squad is not infected, then you should team up and travel as a group. Bring flashlights. If you run into a Zed(Zombie) without a weapon, Run to the nearest building and shut the door behind you. If you can get to a computer in that building, report where you are and where you spotted the Zed. Rescue squads will be sent out after all safety precautions have been completed.

Be aware, that there are normal/non HvZ Squad students about. If at all possible, convince them there is a person with a gun on campus and tell them to lock themselves in a building or a dorm. It'll be hard to convince them that the ZED virus has broken out again...people are still in denial about the first outbreak.

That is all. You have your orders. I will be at North Campus waiting for you. And remember, better dead than ZED.

Artemis laid back from her computer and shut her eyes, taking deep breaths. For now, it would be everyone for themselves. She just hoped they all made it to the Armory. Artemis was lucky enough to be in archery club, which justified the weapons in her room. She slung her black bow over her shoulder, and a quiver of fifteen arrows. Thinking fast, she stuffed two water bottles and a couple of Rice Krispie Treats in a bag and locked the door behind her as she went out. Living in Tessa Dorm building, she would probably be one of the first few there. She just hoped the others would make it.

Kale

Kale watched the others log on, counting to 90 or so. While they weren't short on people, for a campus their size, the number of regular students far outnumbered HvZ. Kale bit the inside of his cheek, still tapping his fingers and feet. Who knows where the zed was now? Closer? Had it already preyed upon someone harmless? Someone innocent? A vein bulged on the side of Kale's head, near his temple. He needed to do something to help. Kale wanted to feel useful.

Chaoswolf: Alright listen up. We're starting with offense. I want everyone, all squads to move to North Campus and acquire their weapons. Kale nodded, even though no one could see him. He delayed in no time, he immediately ran out of his dorm. He roomed in Wilson, and the North Campus was pretty far. As he pounded down the stairs, he was so glad he kept in shape in the off- rugby season. Kale thought of how he could protect the other students. He'd taken a few classes in acting once. Kale thought of Artemis's suggestion about a school shooting. Kale summoned his best frightened face, and burst out of the dorm building in a sprint. "HE'S GOT A GUN!" Kale bellowed as he ran in a dead sprint towards the North Campus. The students that heard him were sent into a panic, and spread the word as they scattered in all directions. He hoped he wouldn't run into any zeds, he didn't think he would, but Kale didn't want to take any chances.

{{Hi guys! I'm sorry this is a little late, and I can't post for Ashes unfortunately, :( I'm going on a little holiday and won't get back till Sunday. Just you know, my charries will be around. You can use them for itty bitty missions, like NPC's, but less interactive, lol. Patrols, like.}}
