Introduction
Violet Stormbringer and I didn't know each other very well until we recieved some very similar gifts. We each found a box containing a large egg that had a feeling of power coming from it. My box came with a message that said, "Violet Stormbringer has also recieved one of these." Curious, I set out in search of Violet. She was looking for me, too, because her box came with a message that said, "TheHorseWhisperer has also recieved one of these." The day after we met, as we were sitting in a park discussing our eggs, they hatched into adorable little dragon hatchlings. They grew quickly, and we were immediatly interested in where they had come from. We soon each recieved another egg. We decided to set up cameras to catch whoever delivered them on video. One day, I checked my camera and it had gotten a video of a person putting an egg by the door, then getting in a car and driving away. Violet had also gotten a similar video. With the license plate number, we were able to track down this person. He told us where we could find more eggs and we bought the island they were showing up in. Dragonclaw Island, the only known home of the Ancients, is a massive island inhabited only by the Ancients. Now we have decided to allow other people to visit this place and, perhaps, find their own Ancient Elder Western Dragon.
About the Ancients
The colors vary with age. In real life, Tiger Sharks have bold stripes as juveniles and lose their stripes as they age. Ancients' color are something similar to this, but backwards. Eggs have natural base colors, usually a light cream egg with maybe a few brown colors meshed into it to blend into their habitat. Young hatchlings have earthy tones, with a base color varying from black, brown, dark gray, or at brightest a light tan. Hatchlings cannot fly so this will help them blend in, which is also why their markings are not very bright. Say if a hatchling hatched in a desert or rocky climate (gray or brownish tan base) moved to a rainforesty or lush enviroment, their base color would take on a slightly green hue, sometimes gaining brighter markings such as spots or stripes, or both, to blend in to surroundings. As they grow older and more flight-capable, their base colors bolden and become brighter in coloring, and can take on an orangy-tan coloration to a light gray coloration, or sometimes they will take on darker coloration. One-color Ancients are very rare. Eye colors can be blue, golden, amber, brown, and green, and albinos have can have red, pink, or blue eyes. Some Ancients have stripes or speckles on their dorsal horns.
Eggs are about the height of a domestic cat, newly hatched hatchlings are about the size of a medium sized dog (i.e. husky, german shepherd), younglings are about the size of a small horse (not a pony, more like a 14.3-15hh horse), adults are about the size of a small elephant, and Elders are the about the size of a house, having lived for over a century.
Every month, two special Ancients, known as Mystics, will be released. These are very rare dragons and each person can only have one of them. They are incapable of breeding and are extremely special.
About Adopting
You must have 150 posts and have to have been on CS for at least 6 months to adopt an Ancient. On an Ancient's page there will be a form made by the artist. If you want the Ancient and have met all requirements, you may fill out the form and post it. Do not change the form in any way (i.e. adding colors, italics, bolding, etc.) except to add the nessecary info (such as name, personality, etc.) The personality and history must be well-made and the name should fit the dragon nicely. You must be able to make at least one piece of artwork of the dragon every two months (whether it is traditional or digital).
Draekken Valley
When no one had tried for an Ancient by the time it is to be adopted out, or when their human companion wishes to leave them, they go to Draekken Valley, or if their human companion neglects them, they will go to Draekken Valley. Here they will live their whole lives with only others of their kind for company. They will never leave because they no longer trust or care for humans.
