Aasiyah Sari Valeska || Worker

“I haven’t felt physical pain in years…” Aasiyah’s voice now had a dreamy quality to it. Her eyes were clouded with wonder and curiosity. Smiling brightly at Daniel, she whispered two words that only he could hear.
“Thank you.”
Turning around she walked gracefully into the manor as if nothing happened to her. She clutched her arm to her chest as she walked.

Asher woke to the arising muttering and chatter. He growled quietly and pushed himself into a slouched sitting position. Already restless, Asher needed all the sleep he could get. He didn't need to be awakened by fools discussing betrayal in the open.
Rather than snap at the closest creature, he merely growled quietly, a quite tame course of action for him. He shifted his weight from his elbows to his hands as he sat up groggily, all the while furiously trying to scrub the drowsiness from his unwilling eyes. It took him longer than most, but he finally was conscious enough to stand. He walked a few paces over to where his clothes were. He tugged off his current clothes with ease, not bothering to cover himself. By now, it was pointless to even try in his opinion. He slipped into the new clothes that fit him loosely, but not as bad as days past.
Without pausing, he went to his food dish and started to scarf down the contents. It was some tasteless cream wheat. He ate it without much complaint and quickly ate the orange that accompanied it. Finally, rather than being oblivious to the compound he decided to take in his surroundings.
It seemed that there was some ironically quiet uproar among the creatures. They were all foolish to discuss such things in the open, even if they didn't care the consequence. Giving away any course of action was not wise in the least. The main instigators were two curious creatures. One was a girl with pretty silvery-white hair, while the other was in the cage next to her, the fire-tamer Daniel. Asher knew Daniel, but had never spoken to him personally. As for the girl, he never bothered to pay much attention to the rambunctious creature. He watched as they discussed strategies and snorted loudly, even though he was only a few cells away. They didn't seem to take much notice of him though, not that it bothered him much. Soon, a worker opened the cages. Without looking, he knew it was the girl Aasiyah for she was always the peacemaker of the lot. He quickly strode out of the filthy quarters and outside.
Asher truly loved it outside. The feeling of fresh air grazing his cheek in soft breezes, the steady ray of sunlight warming him through, and the earthy aroma of natural living things. Though he hated the garden, it reeked of laboratories. The genetically altered flowers were not of this world, instead they served as a reminder that neither were any of the observers. He scoffed and looked away from the garden in disgust. Instead he scanned the crowds for something worth watching.
There. He saw Aasiyah talking again with the white-headed girl and Daniel. They had to be causing more trouble, for there wasn't any other reason for her to have any communication with the creatures otherwise. He watched them fight without much opinion, until the girl pushed Aasiyah and transformed into some weird eyrie sort of creature. She took off, obviously to let off some rage. However, Daniel stayed and discussed further with her. It wasn't until Daniel reached out and burned her arm that Asher started stomping over to them. By the time he reached Daniel, Aasiyah was already returning to the shabby building.

"Are you stupid, or are you just trying to prove something?" Asher asked quietly, a deadly but misleading calm. Even though his voice was barely above a whisper, there was an angry intensity driven by brute rage and frustration. "Because obviously you don't think much before you act. I've been watching you all morning, talking about escape and how you're going to strike against Freak. But you know what? You have absolutely NO CHANCE if you openly discuss such things. I know they aren't stupid, and that it's obvious we all want free. That doesn't mean you have to tell them exactly what you're planning. Those small openings? They'll close them until there's no chance of escape for any of us."
Asher turned to walk away. He knew it was the smartest thing to do, to walk away before his rage got the better of him. But in the end his anger got the best of him. He turned back swiftly on one heel to continue. "Oh, and while you're at it, explain what drove you to lay a hand on a worker? I bet she dared you to, it was pretty obvious that she did just from watching you two talk. That doesn't mean you go through with it! Instead of taking small victories, you should try to save it all for one that counts."
By the end of his reprimand, he was a little surprised to find his left fist clutching the collar of the boy's shirt. During his berating speech, he must have dragged the other's face down to his level as he was a few inches shorter than him. Though his unconscious actions surprised him a bit, he was glad that his subconscious was on his side. He was in a foul mood already, and raring to start a fight.

{Everyone who has submitted a form: I will read your forms when I get the chance. Life's a bit busy right now. My appologies for the wait.}

||Freak||

Unknown to Aasiyah, Danika, and Daniel, Freak was already outside. He had gotten the information from Stanley and moved outside the walls of the building. He was now sitting right outside the keeping building door, next to the wall. His cape was drawn around him. It was almost like camoflague, blending in with the building's black paint. He was hidden from everyone. From this point, he watched everything unfold.
Freak listened as Aasiyah held her own against the two teenage creatures. She was a strong one. He had raised her well. He knew she was at least slightly afraid of the creatures, but she wasn't showing it. There was no shaking in her voice, no wavering of her tone. "Good girl, Aasiyah," he whispered. She was definitely one of his favorite workers.
Freak stayed immobile for the rest of the fight until Daniel pressed fire to Aasiyah's skin. He hissed under his breath, his entire body tensing. The boy was smart--smarter than Freak had given him credit for. He figured that by hurting Aasiyah, he would hurt Freak. Freak ground his teeth, watching as the boy continued to burn his first and best creation. But he made sure his body stayed glued to the ground. He would not retaliate. He would not let this get to him. That was what Daniel wanted. He refused to let him win.
Freak only let himself move when Aasiyah began walking toward the keeping building. Once she got close enough to the doors, he darted towards her. He grabbed her and pulled her inside, shoving her against one of the walls. He grabbed her arm with one hand and began to examine it, pushing her against the wall with the other. When he mentally declared her pretty much unharmed, his eyes began shooting him powerful glares. The glares screamed questions of why? Why? Why would you let him do that? This lasted for what seemed like hours.
Finally, Freak released the girl from the wall and grabbed her wrist, dragging her to her bed in the worker's room. He forced her down onto it and stared at her once again, his gaze flickering from her arm to her eyes. By hurting herself, she had involuntarily betrayed him. And he was letting her know it. Freak ran one of his hands through the girl's hair, brushing it out with his fingers. "Why would you let him do this to you?" he whispered, so quietly she almost couldn't hear it. He then turned on his heel and left the room, closing the door behind him. She had caused enough trouble for one day.
Freak walked out to the covered garden where the rest of the creatures were. He stood outside of the gate that surrounded it, observing the creatures. But he gave no sign of being angered. He pretended that he hadn't even seen what had happened. Daniel would be dealt with later.

Aasiyah Sari Valeska || Worker

Collapsing against the wall, Aasiyah let it all out. Her silent scream echoed off the walls as Freak left her on the ground. Tears fell down her cheeks for the second time that day, but her tears were not for the pain in her arm or how Freak scared her with his roughness. No, her tears were for Freak. She hurt him. She thought she was helping him… But instead…
Standing up and dusting herself off, she used her good arm to brush off the tears from her face. Pausing she felt a shift in the moods outside and looked out the window to see Asher confronting Daniel. Knowing it was her job to break up the fights and keep the peace, Aasiyah walked back into the garden area. Nodding to two armed guards letting them know it was time to get everyone inside; she made a b-line to where the boys stood.
“Ma’am, what about those two?” One of the guards asked her as his partner rounded up the other creatures.
“They are under my watch, leave them. Make sure you locked all the cages tightly.” The guard nodded and went off to finish his orders. Standing now just a few feet from the boys, Aasiyah cleared her throat gaining their attention.
“Follow me. Now.”

Asher was so busy intently staring into the the taller boy's eyes that he didn't notice the others being ushered back inside. Since the boy was staring back with just as much intensity, he noticed the change in atmosphere only after a sharp, commanding tone finally caught his attention.
“Follow me. Now.”
The authoritative voice came from none other than Aasiyah. Seeing her standing only a few paces away, arms crossed, and with a burning glare towards the two of them brought a smirk to his face. He let go of Daniel's shirt and turned towards her, mirroring her pose. Everything about his posture and expression were screaming defiance. Even though he had just finished giving Daniel an earful about this kind of behavior, he was still riled up from irresistible urge to start a fight. He only said two words in reply, but everything about them showed hostility.
"Make me."
Asher didn't move from his stance, and knew he stood a chance with his ability on his side. He knew Aasiyah already felt uneasy around him because of the incompatability between their two abilities. This thought only made the smirk on his face widen.
Anyways, this sort of behavior wasn't his fault, it was only caused by someone else instigating it. Yet once he was in this mood, hardly anything could stop him until he cooled down himself. He didn't mind it of course, but he knew he would regret it later. He shook the feeling from himself, and readied for her reaction.

Aasiyah Sari Valeska || Worker

Her voice betrayed her stance. Looking Asher in the eyes she showed him all her pain and hurt that she kept bottled up since Daniel burnt her.
“Please, follow me.”
Her voice was soft yet had power to it. She turned her back on the boys and started walking back towards the manor. Instead of going to the ward with the other creatures, she led them to a small door off to the side. Opening it up and holding it, she waited for them to follow her.

He stared into her eyes. They were the most interesting mixture of blue, gold and a light hazel; Something Asher had never seen before. Then he saw her eyes change from a hard texture to a softer one, full of pain, regret, sorrow... Everything that reminded him of himself.
That's what broke his mood. He straightened his stance and posture, but kept his arms crossed. The expression of body language was more of a way for him to build a wall between himself and others than anything. It was a method of blocking everyone else out, so they wouldn't see the pain he kept locked inside. His mood changed instantly from anger to sorrow, but at the same moment, he used his ability to make it seem as if his mood only changed to one of indifference. He would not let her see his weakness, not even to save his life if it came to that. She spoke three more words, softly, but betraying none of the emotion shown in her iridescent eyes.

"Please, come with me."
Completely ignoring Daniel beside him, he followed Aasiyah staring straight ahead at him and focusing on nothing in particular. He was only mildly aware of his surroundings as he passed inside and through a corridor off to the side. She held open the door, waiting for the two of them.
Asher entered, carefully keeping the masquerade of indifference, even though his racing mind was laced with pain and sorrow. This was all because of her, one glance and he was completely helpless. He had a major weakness that he could not help. He could not heal himself of it, only another person could. But only if he deigned to let that one in...

Aasiyah Sari Valeska || Worker

“Thank you Asher. For standing up for me… it was…” Aasiyah walked down the hall with him at her heel. She left the door open for Daniel, not really caring anymore about him. She searched for the correct word to describe is stupidity.
“It was sweet, it really was.” Letting her walls drop and let Asher into her mind, knowing that it would be the only way to show him she meant what she was saying. Her body relaxed as she turned a sharp corner. She led Asher (and hopefully Daniel) into what looked like a work-out room. The walls were covered in mirrors and two large fans stood in the corner.
“No, I won’t start tests on you. That is not my job or something I support.” Leading Asher into the center of the room, Aasiyah turned to face him. “If you would let me, I want to help you understand and control your powers. The choice is up to you if you want my help. In this room is where I learned to control and wield my powers. This room is specially designed to withstand any and all types of abuse. Go on try it.”

Asher continued to follow the worker, not bothering to look back to see if Daniel was following. He knew he had made a fool of himself for berating Daniel, only to turn around and act hypocritical. Though nothing could be helped at this point, and he knew that. He let the thought leave his mind and he focused once again just in time to catch what Aasiyah was saying.
“Thank you Asher. For standing up for me… it was…” She trailed off. She continued leading them through pathways of the building that Asher had never known existed. He almost thought she wasn't going to finish her thought when she finally did.
“It was sweet, it really was.” Asher couldn't help but snort at the very thought. Him being sweet? He wasn't even really defending her, at least he didn't think he was. It was just the way Daniel had been acting, he was almost sure of it. He knew he was typically a cynical jerk around others, and he didn't try and excuse himself from it. But then as he watched the girl in front of him, he realized that she truly meant it. She was trying to connect with him and show him that she meant no harm. Actually, he would go as far to say that she was trying to help him. He immediately became defensive though as he saw what room they had entered.
It was a massive room, that looked as if it should be a typical exercise and testing room. The only difference was that there were mirrors. Everywhere. Literally covering every wall. A snarl started to cross his usually fair face, until he heard her out.

“No, I won’t start tests on you. That is not my job or something I support.”
Of course he was still defensive, for he didn't trust anyone. But he let the snarl slip from his face, and resulted in a mask betraying no emotion. He made sure his mood seemed to be that of neutrality, so she would not see how much she was really affecting him on the inside. She turned around to look him in the eyes again. Well, eye really. He was letting his hair drape across his right eye as usual.
She continued,
“If you would let me, I want to help you understand and control your powers. The choice is up to you if you want my help. In this room is where I learned to control and wield my powers. This room is specially designed to withstand any and all types of abuse. Go on try it.”
He froze for a moment, unsure of whether he could trust her neutral mood. He knew what he had seen in her eyes only minutes before, and he could not quite believe that she remained calm after that display of emotion. However, his pause was brief, and he turned slightly, still keeping her in his peripheral vision. He loosened his control for sight distortions. Immediately, the scene in the mirror changed and Asher was in the place where Aasiyah should be, and vice versa. He glanced at her, one eyebrow raised to see if her reaction contained any confusion at all. It should have, for reality could be easily distorted, and the human mind easily confused. As an afterthought, he took away the pain in her arm. But as he could only hold this particular sense for a few moments, he was forced to let the pain return. He smiled apologetically back at her.

She swayed with the room as reality shifted for merely a second or two. Feeling no pain in her arm made her jump. It wasn’t that it…no… she couldn’t place what she was feeling. Asher’s look after he played with the room made her smile a true smile.
“No worries. I’ve been hurt a lot worse than this…” She sat on the floor and took down the rest of her hair from the now very lose bun. Her orange locks fell down around her shoulders like liquid fire. Tugging at it gently, she placed most of it behind her ears.
“So tell me, Asher, what would you want to be able to do with your powers the most?”
