The early morning air wasn't exactly cold, but it was almost too cool for the cold blood that ran through Ink's veins. He shivered as he slithered through the trees, trying his best to hit every patch of sunlight he could. It wasn't long before he hit a clearing in the trees, a spot where everything opened up to a river, grass running along the banks. Rolling up his sleeves and unbuttoning his shirt - both of which revealed a myriad of scars: needle marks, claw marks, and uncountable others - he sat down in the grass, and then he proceeded to lay down, allowing the direct sunlight to warm him. The grotesque amount of scales on his arms and face glinted in the light, but they somehow seemed even darker when faced with the sun. His hair fanned out underneath him quite a bit, sleek and shiny as ever, creating a black halo.
His fangs were his newest transformation, even though they came in when he was fourteen. It had taken quite a bit of time and many holes in his tongue before he was able to speak around them. By far, however, the wrist part of all of this was the insomnia; every time he tried to relax and close his eyes the flashbacks would come. Maybe this time... His golden eyes slid closed as he basked.

Mizu ignored the girl who seemed nothing but pathetic to her; to Mizu, everything was pathetic unless deemed menacing to a deathly extent. There were a dozen ways Mizu could kill this girl at that moment using simply her limbs, however Mizu restrained herself as difficult as that was.
In the water, the girl's white springy hair flowed about in a spiral as the current pressed against Mizu's bodily movements. Her arms spread about her, harmonious with the current and stretched gracefully like a dancer's. She dipped her head underneath the surface and sucked in the water through her gills as they filtered the oxygen molecules to feed her body. At the moment, Mizu only wanted to transform into her fish-like self and rip apart Alex then follow the river's currents to the ocean and be away from this place forever. However, out of all the pretty creatures which reside alongside her in the forest, she thought one was most attractive. The reptilian one. He seemed quite menacing and far from pathetic, but Mizu had never thought anything more of him.
Inside the water, Mizu's senses sharpened and tingled as she felt heavy footsteps approach the river and what she assumed to be a large body laying down.
Mizu lifted her body to raise her head from the water, and there she saw Ink a generous distance away from her shaded area. Since she didn't allow herself to kill Alex, Mizu decided to sink back into the water and swim towards the reptilian. Mizu wasn't at all sure what she would do, perhaps threaten him to a duel as a simple way to test her diminishing strength due to the lack of competition.
