A question on those darn pesky rats...

If I remember correctly, they were moved down the list to show where they were actually trading at and not where their true rarity lays (because people always want to undervalue them) but that has had a bad effect on the poor rats, because now people are willing to pay even less for them (often 5-10 rankings lower in my experience).

To counter this... would it not make more sense to actually move them *above* their true value in rarity so that, when people factor in the 'it is a rat rating' factor they will actually trade for closer to true value?

I think this is a brilliant idea ... I had a blue ice rat (equal to a grey dragon on the rares list) could not get anything near what it was worth for it.

I would have to agree on that rat statement as well. And Eli posted a few pages back, that I think makes a decent point. We discussed those exact points before he posted and I agree with them. So I would like to pull up his post again.
I'm sure we are not the only few to agree that the rats are placed to low. That is what they go for, but they are worth a whole lot more. If everything was placed exactly based on what they go for, the zebras, fruits and many others would be in different spots. It just doesnt makes sense to me on how low they are.
This is personal opinion here, not saying it has to be done or that everyone thinks that way.

I've never understood this myself. The lineart is adorable and most of the designs are spectactular, so I don't understand what makes them so unwanted. :c I actually personally don't understand how things like July rats aren't on the rares list just for their rarity alone. In my mind, they should be like the Apple. As far as I've seen, the only reason the Apple's even on the list is because of what it is, a UR...but it's demand is absolutely terrible, like seriously. I never see hardly anyone wanting the Apple, and from what I've seen, it's demand is even worse than the rats. Not to mention that some of those July rats that aren't on the list -have- to be more rare than the Apple. I just don't understand it. How can something like the apple have terrible demand, worse than at lease some of those rats at least, and still be on the list purely because of what it is and its "rarity" but most of those July rats get shoved down to the Septembers list "because of demand" when their rarity alone should place them on at least the low rares list, like the Apple.

It's just something that's been bugging me for quite a while now and I know for a fact that I'm not the only one who has thought about this in a similar way. ;n; I understand the fact that this list takes both rarity and demand into account...that's exactly why the BA is only on the September list. It's rarity holds it down from going any higher on the list, whether demand says it should go higher or not. But it should also be the other way around, in my opinion. Some things get held below certain points on the list because of how low their rarity actually is but some things should also be held above certain points on the list because of how rare they actually are, despite demand. If we can move things like the BA up to the Septembers list because demand holds it higher than the rest of its litter, then rarity should be able to do the same thing...

The rats are so 'low' on the list because of real demand. There is little to no demand for them, eventhough their rarity should put them higher. We shouldnt forget that the list is based on the general demand on cs. Rats arent liked.

I recently completed my rat collection (cept for the ur, that went into hiding as soon as i started searchin ofc) i managed to get all rats in a little over 2 months. I had to pay fair or overpay for most rats.

My point is, if yer not hapy with an offer for yer rat -underpay?- then dont trade it. There are more people on cs, if you seek to trade quickly, then yes... Yer gonna loose some worth. You also shouldnt hope to get a bmd or a ba with a rat, cause hello? People overpay for those with far more then rats. The bmd owner would have to be mental to accept a rat.

You all shouldnt forget how disliked the rats are. Greatly underappreciated jup..

I dont see the need to move any of them. Ive seen more septembers list rats for trade then apples (still need that aswell.) So imo they are fine where they are. People dot like em, dont want em, therefor trafe em. There are allot of em on the market so the 'fact' that they are rarer then the apple doesnt show here ^^'

The lion trade might not help because they wanted pets on their wishlist which were those dragons. Hopefully the cucumber is a bit better because I won that in an auction.

How did the Wolf PPS make it to the main rares list?

I know it's one of the rarest 09 dogs, but it's not really in demand at all. You really think rarity alone is enough to place it there?


And then I'd like to suggest a change.
Isn't it about time the Orange cerberus is moved to the main list?
I know it's in demand at the moment, but other than that isn't it rare enough to be on the main list?
Or would it be a bad idea to move it now because of the demand?

I agree about the orange cerebus, They seem to be disappearing and are harder and harder to find.
I suppose most are in locked groups, but others are on dead and non-active accounts.
