Once he has 4 likes then you make him into pup stage (The Sitting one) and once he has 8 likes then he becomes an adult (The standing one), although I think I like your Idea better, but stick to that until I say otherwise.

You get to keep all stages. When the coloring gets a certain amount of likes, then it will start growing up ;)
