"Well, it depends. We could kill it for prey but it's way too big to even carry back to camp; it would be a total waste. If we tried to attack, we don't know how it defends itself but I do have a feeling it involved those hard feet crushing something underneath," the pretty deputy whispered. "Sagepaw said we should hunt it down but it's completely unrealistic. We would need a whole patrol to do that and if we went to fetch one, it would already be gone. We need to chase it off while remaining unseen." Moonshade was never a coward. She was actually one of the bravest cats - she'd give her life without question to any and all of her clanmates. But trying to kill this thing would be stupid and unsafe.
Chasing it and it's baby away without irritating the creatures was the only sensible thing to do. Also, if they had chased it... She would be worrying constantly for Secretgrudge's safety. The young, dark she-cat would never forgive herself if he got hurt like that, or even died. She didn't know what she felt for the tom, but she knew she would never tell him - it would only break her heart to know he didn't feel the same way.

Sunflash smiled, pleased with what Shadepelt told her, more pleased than if anyone else had said it. "You're sweet," she told him, resting her tail gently on his for a moment. "I'm glad that I get to talk to you too," she said in a quiet tone, uncharacteristically shy. It was Shadepelt, his sweet demeanor and their friendship with eachother. Had to be.

The strong black tom shifted as he sat, smiling at the ground when she said he was sweet. No one had called him that. He blinked when he felt Sunflash's tail on his own and he looked up at her, suddenly feeling shy but tried not to look it. He'd always thought the bright she-cat was very pretty. Beautiful, really. He loved her kind, sweet and strong personality. He'd always thought her better than most; they'd been friends for a really long time. "Why thank you," he responded with a dashing smile.

Sunflash blinked. She hadn't been this giddy in a long time. "You're welcome," she purred, smiling back. Wait, her tail was still on Shadepelt's! Quickly she wrapped it tightly around her own paws, emberrassed for no particular reason. Why was her stomach turning in knots? She had never felt this way before, but she kind of liked it. The thought that something was important enough to her to ellict this response was incredible. She turned to Shadepelt and smiled. A real, genuine smile of happiness. He was the reason.

Shadepelt smiled again and let out a deep purr. He stood, stretching luxuriously as his black tail curled up over his strong back to touch his head. He relaxed his limbs and turned to Sunflash. "I'm bored. You want to go outside? I haven't gone into the forest all day and I need some fresh air," he mewed. He needed a good run to stretch his limbs, but also, he wanted to just spend time with Sunflash, really.

Standing, Sunflash nodded. "I would love to," she told him, kneading the ground with her front paws as she stretched. She straightened and looked at Shadepelt, her blue eyes flashing playfully. "Come on, Shadepelt," she said, batting his ear gently. "Let's go have an adventure!" She felt like she could climb the tallest tree, swim across the biggest river, or run to the end of the earth without stopping, just as long as she could be in this clan. With Shadepelt.

Shadepelt purred when she answered and paused his movements when she looked at him, blinking at him with her stunning eyes. He swallowed hard. Woah... He felt like twenty butterflies just fluttered around in his chest when he saw her look at him like that. He smiled, and tried to control himself. "Alright.. let's go!" He started trotting towards the entrance with his tail and chin high and called over his shoulder playfully, "You'd better keep up!" Shadepelt's bright green eyes flashed with intense electricity at Sunflash and he suddenly felt like he had so much energy. He bounded out of camp and into the forest, grinning.

Sunflash chuckled and leapt after Shadepelt, landing on his shoulders outside of the camp entrance. "How can I keep up with someone as fast as you?" She asked, rolling onto the ground beside him. "Head start!" She called, leaping to her feet and springing into a run. "It's only fair," she threw over her shoulder, smiling to herself.

Celestial smiled awkwardly to the other Queen.

"I might have pried a little too much. Winterfrost was caught up about a nightmare...& I guess I was being too worried about her. So...I think I got on her nerves." she admitted as she checked to make sure her kits were still fast asleep.


The tom nodded in understanding & looked up at the creature so many tail-lengths high. It really would be impossible with just the two of them. & just the thought of there being a chance Moonshade got fatally wounded, not only would Wishclan be in a bind, he would find himself over come with worry. Even now, the mere thought made him flustered.

"Then scaring the fur off of it is our only option. Lets take it from the sides so we won't get a direct hit if we get too close to those rock-paws."

Shadepelt fell forward the moment Sunflash sprang on top of him. "OOF'' he let out, shaking his head. He smirked, narrowing his emerald eyes and stood, shaking out his pelt. He laughed and ran after her, calling, "No fair!"

The dark she-cat nodded. "Right. You go to the right. I'll go to the left and give the signal to scare it off. Don't forget - if it tries to attack, yowl for me. I'll be there," she meowed, her gaze fierce but her quiet voice sincere and honest at the end. Moonshade slunk through the leafy undergrowth around the clearing and kept quiet as she prowled around. She kept downwind expertly as she crouched in her spot, haunches wagging in anticipation. She waited to see Secretgrudge ready on the other side.

Sunflash chuckled and looked back. "How could I keep up with you otherwise?" She asked, exhilerated at the chance to act like an apprentice again. She was only a few moons out of her apprenticeship and she still liked to act like it. "You are so much more faster than me!" Her breath already short from her heart beating so fast being around Shadepelt, it was a fast pant now with the exertion.
