Re: The Semi-Literate+ and Roleplayer's Club

Postby zach. » Sun Jun 10, 2012 5:40 am

I posted this on Inklings to but I think I'm going to do a story and role-play. It'd be something like "Wide Awake" from Katy Perry lyrics. I think I would make it the teenagers have been in many relationships and had no clue they were being lied to in till it was over. Now they're wide awake and trying to hold on to their life. I could make cliques like people who dated goths, popular, etc. If your interested let me know!

HELP NEEDED!
So, I had this awesome idea for a roleplay, but I've got a big problem... The mission is missing. I just can't think of one.. 0.o
Anyone willing to help with suggestions? The plot is right below.

Image
“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.”
- Henry David Thoreau

Image

"Bali. The 'Island of the gods', the most famous of Indonesia’s islands, is a tropical paradise: rice fields as far as the eye can see, volcanos, idyllic villages, kilometres of sand beaches and dazzling temple festivals. You have the chance to go there for charity work. All you have to do is teach the cute kids English for 4 hours a day through the week. The remaining time is all yours. However, the island has an immense history. I'll tell you one under one condition. Please watch yourself...

Honor and pride were the pillars of ancient kingdoms throughout the world, to the point where death was preferable to subjugation. In 1906 a Balinese ritual mass suicide, known as Puputan, was committed so that its practitioners would avoid being captured and enslaved by the Dutch invaders. The Raja commanded that all valuables be burnt and that everyone from the youngest child to the wives and priests be marched ceremoniously towards the aggressors. When face to face with the Dutch regiment, the head priest thrust a dagger deep into the Raja’s heart signaling the commencement of Puputan. From here the entire group simultaneously began to kill one another while the women mockingly flung money and jewelery onto the stupefied troops. Over 1000 Balinese people committed suicide on that warm September afternoon, leaving little for the Dutch to do." [source] "At the time the prophecy had already predicted this event, and so the cult would have to come with a plan or it would stop existing for good. Before the Dutch would come they held a rite to transfer the soul of their group into the much desired black opal, so that whoever would find it, when the time was right, would be able to continue their mission after getting the right equipment. Slowly the unlucky ones will notice their body change, gaining technical prosthetic limps giving them powers they might never even have heard of. The black opal can still be found in one of the caves near the beach...

I haven't told too much now have I? Don't go looking for it! If you get into trouble you can always come back to me", the monk tells you. "You are free to go to your villa now. You share it with others you age, so I bet you'll like it."

The powers available:
Air and shape shifting.
Water and invisibility [shadows]
Metal and great fighting skills [has to study skills first though]
Fire and telepathy [including showing video-like images and feelings]
Earth and remote viewing [includes locating people through the floor]
electricity and the ability to walk over walls and ceilings like a spider.

Iggy, I love that idea, though I'm a bit confused. If you can, reserve me a water element spot and pm me when you make it, if thats alright. Thanks.

What are you confused about? I'd like to explain (: The characters are the ones finding the black opal and getting the 'right equipment' [The powers and cybernetic prosthetic limbs]. What I am missing is the big problem in the roleplay. What do they need to do with the powers? What is the goal here? The problem?

I'm thinking there might be another force released along with the powers of the stone, an ancient evil that might destroy everything if they don't hold it back and destroy it before it's too late. Anyone with better [more worked out] ideas or does this sound okay? C:

Hey guys, I have a role play I want to advertise, but would anyone be interested? It's a friend's of mine, and they need two more cats. Warrior Cats, obviously, and in need of a MedCat and Deputy (I think the deputy is needed.). Let me know if you're interested!

Hey guys! Does anyone want to start a roleplay with me, a warriors one? Semi-literate to literate {two paragraph minimum of ten sentences each}? I want to do one, but I don't want to make it all myself.

I think that idea makes sense. :)
School's here. I have slow responses, sorry about that.
Trying to focus on one or two rps at a time.

The idea is interesting, iggy, but yes, the conflict is missing. Don't count me out yet, but depending on the problem I may not join. Unfortunately, I'm out of creativity for the moment. Wish I could help ^^;;

I have some semi-lit warriors roleplays that really need members, so if you are at all interested, here they are, with short descriptions and links. (In the banners.)

Image
Fireclan lives in a moor area that experiences frequent grassfires in the summer and frigid windy winters with lots of snow falling, but little of it staying on the ground. They have to move their camp twice a year, once to a protected area in the fall to protect from the cold of winter and once in the spring to a large flat rock as safty from the fires of the summer that ravenge their winter camp. They are quick and nimble fighters and hunters. They are most known for their speed and agility in battle. (0 members)

Image
Nightclan lives in a forest of tall trees with tall roots that stick out of the ground and hunts mostly by night, under the cover of darkness. They have a very unique hunting technique for their area which you will learn if this is the clan you choose. They rely on stealth for their hunting and fighting techniques. They are most known for their loyalty in battle and thier ability to strike effectively at night. (0 members)

Image
Sunclan lives in an area riddled with small streams and islands, as well as some marshlands. They eat fish and other water and swamp dwelling creatures, but mainly fish. They swim well and quickly and have thick pelts that are good for swimming in the water. They use their swimming abilities as a great asset in hunting and fighting. They are most known to never give up in a fight. (1 members)

Image
Treeclan lives in a dense forest with lots of undergrowth. They use most of the normal techniques for hunting, and are skilled tree climbers. They can jump best of all the clans and often hunt birds and squirrels high in the trees. They rely on strength to win their battles, and skills to catch their prey. They are most known for being able to escape up trees, should the need arise. (1 member)

All four are Semi-literate with a four line minimum. None of them have started yet.
Image
Starbase Typhon is a roleplay run by me, off site. It is Star Trek based (but not the new movies, as you will see) and it definetly needs people who are willing to be active, write with great grammar, and of course, are semi-literate or above. Format is play by Nova, which involves multi-person posts that are a different way of doing things that here of CS. But it's lots of fun, and we need long term people who will help us complete our missions. As the commanding officer of Typhon, I invite anyone who would like to give it a try to please apply! (Warning that quality of applications is strictly judged. Very strictly judged.) The link is in the image.
