"Fine then, I'll give you a chance, but don't expect me to get married just yet," She got up, and took a deep breath, she had what seemed like a million questions in her head, but one seemed to stick out in her head like a thorn. "Just one more question. Please."

Ash stared up at him, her eyes wide as she watched him, her fear very apparent in them. She curled her fingers on the floor, as though trying to hold onto something, but there was nothing to hold onto. She was breathing heavily, very clearly terrified of him, though she didn't faint or scream. There was a small part of her that just wanted him back in his human form so he could hold her and calm her down, but there was the rest of her that was entirely terrified of him in any way shape or form.

Relief washed over Elijah. "Whatever you want, Isabelle." He breathed. "Thank you. Fire away with any questions." He paused. "One at a time though. I'm afraid monster and machine are two different things." He flashed a weak, weary grin.

Luke saw the terror in her eyes, fighting hard not to scream. He looked down, now changing back into his human form. And he was right in front of her in less than ten seconds. He came down and held her, making sure she didn't hit the ground. "It's alright, I'm back, it's okay." He looked at her face, hoping she had calmed down at least a bit.

"Okay then, question one, why do, um, bunyips need humans to marry them. Why can't they just marry other bunyips." She came closer the the bed, having a questionable look on her face. "I mean, you said that you weren't happy marrying me, a human."

"When did YOU last see a Bunyip?" He asked. "Never? Right you are. We're nearly extinct. We have no choice but to marry humans. We're inbred, ill, and two more generations until we can't walk because we all have clubbed flippers. Humans took our lives, so in a way we take humans." He didn't dare look at her, in fear of her reaction.

Ash was trembling some as she clung to him, though she was still on the ground, having sat down quiet a while before. Her eyes were wide in terror as he held her, unable to get the image of the monster he was out of her head, even though she was clinging to him. She finally closed her eyes and buried her head in his chest, still shaking as she clung to him.

"Okay then," She pretended as if she didn't hear that last part, would only make things worse.. "Question two, do my parents know I'm here, and if they do, why did they let me come here." She came even closer to the bed, making every step faster than the last one she took.

"No more secrets, that was it, that's what I am," He sighed, letting her come closer to him. "I know I scared you, but you have to trust me that I would never, ever hurt you. just remember me saying that."

Ash slid her arms up around his neck, her fingers tangling into his hair as she clung to him. "That... Wasn't what I expected.." she finally murmured, her voice actually shaking as she spoke. After a moment, she pulled back a bit to look at him, though she didn't release her grip on him, not thinking she would be able to last long without clinging to him as tightly as she was.

Eli still couldn't bear to look up. "You- you don't want to know. Just trust me on this one." His mouth was dry. She would hate him if he told her that their memories of her were gone. Not erased, but more like taken. If someone asked "How's Isabelle?" They would probably tilt their heads and say "Huh?"

"What do you mean, they're my parents, how could I go on with my life without knowing." She lifted an eyebrow at him, expecting him to say this was some kind of joke. She still cam closer to the bed until she was finally close enough to sit on it, and Isabelle sat right next to Elijah.

"Lot's of things are not what you expect in your life," he really didn't know what to say after that. She was too in shock to say anything, so he just held her in her arms. He never realized how hurt you feel when someone is scared of your true form.
