Krystal nodded, watching the lake. The water seemed slightly cloudy, but to any normal person it would look drinkable. She bent down, her hands were fine though she'd washed them in the lake. ''I think it's only poisonous if you drink it.'' Krystal said, scooping up a one-use water filter and a small, empty water skin. She filtered the water into the water skin. It suddenly looked crystal clear. Krystal grinned, ''Yep, poisonous. Just to be on the safe side, we should filter all the water we take from the lake.'' The Capitol had been clever. There was one year when everything was poisonous, apart from things from the Cornucopia and rain water. Maybe this could be the same...

Krystal washed her hands in the filtered water after taking a sip, then began to use the water treatment set that the rest of the Careers had stolen from the Cornucopia and some of the water skins and water bottles. Dropping some of the liquid from the water treatment set into the water bottles, Krystal said, ''We have to wait at least half an hour until the water is purified. If we drink it before, the water could still poison us.'' she looked around the ring of Careers and held up the small water skin that she had purified before to the others, ''Want a drink, anyone?'' Krystal asked.

Her attention turned to Krystal. The girl was filtering the water, and Tally watched in silence. "Guess we won't be swimming in that." she forced a very slight smile, but in truth, the fact was quite depressing. When Krystal offered them a drink, Tal debated; was she thirsty enough? The more she thought about her thirst, the stronger it seemed to become, and it got to the point that she very nearly snatched the skin from Krystal for a sip. "I'll take a sip," she said smoothly, without the slightest note of desperation in her voice. Her throat felt quite dry, something she was quite used to. Tracing her steps back through the day, she realized that she hadn't drank anything the entire day. She wanted to kick herself for being so foolish - what if she hadn't ended up in the Career pack and was struggling for water at this point? The thought sent a shiver down her spine.

~ Kenn Mochizuki ~ District Two ~ Careers ~

Kenn sat with his back against the tree, watching the sun rise slowly through the air. He had volunteered for the first watch and the last watch. He got a few hours of sleep in between, and felt fully refreshed for the next day.
When the sun was almost fully visible, Kenn crawled into each of the tents and woke up the rest of the Careers.
"Come on, guys! It's day two!" Kenn exclaimed in the first tent, kicking the people inside. "Who's ready for round two?" Kenn asked, running out of the tent before anyone tried to destroy him and repeated the procedure in the other tent. "Haha, it's a new day, children! Rise and shine!" Kenn chanted, dancing violently around in the camo tent. He kicked people as he did so, singing as loud as he could to wake them up. Then he hopped out of the tent, twirling around the clearing like a ballerina, laughing maniacally. He fell back on the grass, holding his stomach and laughing crazily. Kenn always had the oddest senses of humor.
Kenn glanced over at the tents, checking for movement. "You have until the count of ten to be out of those tents, 'kay?" Kenn asked, a smirk on his face. "One," Kenn said slowly and loudly, like a child learning how to count. "Two," Kenn followed with a large space in between. "Three," Kenn giggled a bit after he said this. "Ten!" Kenn shouted quickly, watching to see if anyone would really walk out of the tents.

Golden light hit Ari's eyes through the leaves, making her turn over instinctively. For one moment, Ari thought she was in her bed and was about to fall out of bed, but when she opened her eyes, she saw the ground from a long way away. All of the previous day's events came to her in a nanosecond: her arrival in the Games, her grabbing a pack of nuts, her killing a girl, her getting a free arrow, her backpack, the stream, her almost drinking from the stream, all the food in the backpack, her extreme climb up the tree, her eating a pack of dried meat, her sleep, to right then.
Ari screamed and flailed her arms out, trying to get a hold of something. Anything. All she managed to do was scratch her hands from the rough tree bark. Ari looked below her and saw a tree branch right underneath her. Her feet hit the branch and she tried to land on it gracefully, but she fell backwards again, this time balancing herself between the branch she was just on and a branch that jutted out a foot away. Ari shakily sat against the tree trunk, her sleeping bag still wrapped around her. Ari looked up and saw her stuff still perched on the tree many branches up. Ari sighed and closed her eyes, dizzy from her fall. She let out a few shaky breaths and sat there a few more minutes. Finally, Ari crawled out of her sleeping bag and began to climb up the tree again. When she reached her stuff, she put her backpack on her back and slowly trekked back down the tree. Ari made a mental note to herself not to sleep so high in a tree again.
Ari settled down by the stream just below her and pulled out two water treatment sets. She filled them both up with water and and dropped them into the water skin when they were purified. They filled the skin up halfway, so Ari grabbed two other water treatment sets, filled them in, and filled the water skin up. Ari threw the water treatment sets into the river, since they couldn't be used again, and pulled out a pack of crackers. She looked into her pack for food: one more pack of crackers, two packs of dried meat, and two packs of assorted nuts. Ari decided to have a pack of nuts for lunch and meat again for dinner. Then she would need to start hunting for food, which she had never done. Ari sighed and slowly ate her crackers, hoping that she could return home to her family.

Tallulah had been lying awake for the past few minutes when Kenn began storming about and laughing like an absolute lunatic. Though she didn't mean to, she smiled, if only slightly. Ripping her way out of her sleeping bag and rolling it up, Tal listened with amusement as Kenn counted. "Heard you the first time, m'dear." she called to him with a laugh, and she picked up her spear and slid a knife into her belt. Emerging from the tent, she came outside to find a nice enough day and Kenn, lying on the grass, laughing hysterically. Tally approached him with a smirk and gently kicked his foot to notify him that she was present, as she doubted he could hear anything over his laughing. "Calm the beans, sir. Next time, try not to be so extreme when 'waking us up'. A simple poke would do, you know." Tal grinned at him, before plopping herself down on the grass next to him. "So, sunshine, what's got you in such a good mood?"
