Redline for Neelix

Koiyote pointed out most of the main things I think.
Take my redline with a grain of salt, it definitely isn't perfect. OTL

Everybody, I hate to mini mod but we are all trying to improve here and help so when you post with out giving any feed back, you're only leaving more for others to critique. It's a team effort, offer any advice you can think of (it doesn't have to be a red line or a long post), because even one sentence from three different people can add up to a useful critique.

Kat, one tip for manga is to make the eye lines the thickest lines on the body and have the other lines be a little bit thinner. The animal ears may need to be bigger, it would make it cuter and a little bit more anatomically correct ;). I'll edit this with a red line in a sec :3 Edit: redline.

Funsized, I did a sloppy tutorial, just to explain a few things. It looks like you have a good grip on anatomy, I think when you decided she would be 14 you got rid of a few important curves all together instead of narrowing them out a bit. There are two different things to look at, I personally use the awkward "bare bones" sketch to figure out what goes where and get my proportions straight. So like, that oval is roughly two heads tall, and then I used that oval to figure out where the "hour glass" comes together (which is basically where I drew a line from the "hip line" to the oval) :). I hope this helps some ~

Neelix, I can definitely see the improvement :D. Very cool, imagine where you'll be this time next year... hm. I would red line but I think Duh can offer a lot more help than me lol.

@ funsized ; hope you dont mind a redline heh

the first thing i noticed was it lacked basic muscle structure, and the pose was kinda uncomfortable to the model. i hope i helped in any way. uwu also with hands what i usually try to do is make a trapezoid box like thing and make your hand from that. with fingers after the box with the middle finger being the tip of a triangle when there are fingers attached. pretty much the hand is made out of a box and cut away at. <:
you definitely want to get out of the simplified style you have now for a bit,or else you wont improve too much, trust me! its a lot easier studying realism and then getting a nice style.

@ duh ; oh thats a really cool entei! i think the only thing i can see off is that the back legs seem a bit stiff. otherwise it is really wonderful!

@ neelix ; whipped you up a redline! x
i think you should study up on different poses and look at the way joints bend. but i think your improvement is fab!

all i have is another shotty headshot and anything is welcome on it. i havent shaded in forever so i decided to try it for a change.

thats all i see that i can actually help with so ill be wading around here if you need me

XD i re-did it before i was able to read your critics. but thankyou for them!

im only really drawing this so that i can have a base, so i can do different clothes and such. but, i do need to add the bone and muscle lines on her knees and arms too since i will be drawing shorts and tank tops on her

im working still on it, this is just a second sketch C:

i will be fixing her head anatomy too, so her jaw line and skull are more distinctive ^^

im not going to add much to her feet, since the only thing she wears on them is converse shoes CX

but i do see where i need to improve, thankyou so much both of you for the wonderful critics! they helped a whole bunch!

Alright, not the best redlines but its what I've come up with for now, these are for;

Fox-Zura funsized and Neelix

Also, looking for some redlines on this again if anyone has time and experience with humans.

Also sorry for any delays and such in the coming weeks. My final year is coming to a close so just a tad bit busy.

Crits, comments, redlines, all that jazz is welcome!

Neelix, this isn't the first time you've posted while ignoring everyone else. You've gotten your first strike.
If you have a problem with this, PM me.

It's not because the mods are busy that you can all forget about the rules.

I think in both the redline and the pic, the heads look a bit thin, and on the redline the boobies look too low. I don't know *too* much about human anatomy so, you know, I may not be right, lawl. :u
(nice hair shading though ouo)

The new version looks a lot better, and I already liked it a lot from the start^^. I'd love to see how it'll turn out finished.

I can't help you with a redline I'm afraid, your human skills greatly exceed my own^^'. I think it looks just perfect. I love the poses, the interaction and the anathomy, it's really beautiful and it's unusually high quality. The only thing I could think of was that the the arm holding the mug could need just a tiny bit of definition around the bicep, to match the muscular build of the tummy^^.

I've redlined both your drawings for you^^.

First redline, I wasn't really sure what kind of an animal you were going for with your drawing, but the anathomy reminded me mostly of a canime, so I went with sort of a fire-fox-ish anathomy. The pose is really awkward, it looks a bit like the animal is tripping forwards, falling over when it's landing after a jump. A tip about fire is that it always burns upwards, you'll get a more firery feeling if you direct the tail and it's flames up.

Second red+tealline, please don't pay to much attention to the teal kitty, I couldn't get it too look right. I think you've done great with a hard pose, it 's really neat. I think you should pay slightly more attention to the details of the hind legs since it's hard to determine which leg belongs to which cat. Other than that it looks lovely, sketching real life animals can be very rewarding.
