"Say what?!!" I paused my swords in mid-air, my arms up and over my head. I looked at Canada curiously, wondering if this was just a trick that he was trying to do, to make me put more guard down or something. "This ain't a trick, is it? If it tis, I swear, it is thee worst one I 'ave evah seen." I said, squinting my eyes at him in suspicion. Seriously, man! We're in the middle of a fight, and you suddenly stop because you forgot to feed your pet.

Canada shook his head. "No seriously. I bet he even chewed through his chains by this time..." he said looking at his watch. "Crap." he looked and saw a tree nearby and quickly climbed it. "Hey. You better come up here unless you want some new scratches..." he said then heard a faint growling. A rather large polar bear with blood around it's mouth stormed it way through. "Great. Kuma, you didn't eat another dog again, did you?" he asked as it started to scratch the tree furiously. "Dammit, Kuma, don't tell me it was one of Germany's again!"

Arthur allowed himself to be pulled into a hug, finding comfort in the other's embrace. He made a soft whimpering sound, pressing his face into Alfred's shoulder. "I don't want to die, Alfie," he whispered, unable to say anything else. He trusted Alfred, but the only thing running through his head was how many ways he could get killed. The pale blond fell silent, body shaking as if he were cold. "D-don't let 'em get me, Alfie." The thought of being dragged away to be killed made him want nothing more than to cry and hold the American all night. I can't live without you.

Alfred hugged him tightly again. "You shouldn't worry, Arthur," he said, feeling a bit more confident. He felt his shoulder start to get damp and also the small shakes Arthur was making. "It's ok... I'm not going to let anyone take you away. You know that..." he said softly. But, he couldn't stop thinking about it. What if they did take Arthur from under his nose? Thats not going to happen. "Really Arthur, we got out of that hellhole, so why can't we get out of another?"

Arthur took a shaky breath, trying to calm down. "I-I know," he said softly, not noticing that he had been crying. He lifted up his head to wipe his eyes on his sleeve before resting his forehead against Alfred's shoulder, eyes closing in semi-contentment. "I know that you won't let them, but..." The pale blond swallowed nervously. "But one day, we...we might not be able to get out." Another soft whimpering filled the air as Arthur hugged the other tightly. He didn't want to think about the annoying — and terrifying — "what if's." He sniffled softly. "D-don't ever leave me."

"Don't think like that, Arthur..." he said as he hugged him. "We'll get through this... We don't even know if their going us track us down." He closed his eyes briefly, hearing Arthur's heart race against his. He lifted up his chin and kissed him, hoping that it would melt Arthur's, and his own thoughts.

Arthur took another slightly shaky breath, relaxing against the American. "I know, but you can't blame me..." He said the words softly, afraid that Alfred would get mad at him for being so stubborn and fearful. He couldn't help it. What else was he supposed to think about when you find out people are just itching to see you die on death row? Not to mention almost being taken away... When his chin was pushed up, blue-and-purple irises met red ones before the gap was filled with a kiss. That made the pale blond relax completely, melting into the American's touch.
