|| If you're going to kick authority in the teeth, you might as well use two feet ||

Kay was leaning over a table when he heard the small explosion, tilting his head to gaze at the smoke raising toward the celing. It twisted and danced, a black snake among the harsh lightning of the Market. He had no mental abilities at all but the Divided leader could tell when another Divided was using their powers. It was one thing showing your mark down here, annoucing what you were to keep yourself safe among the criminals and the desperate; but it was another thing using your powers.
Kay believed in using your powers only when you have no other choice. The protection of his people and himself. This is why every day he trained his body, learing to fight in styles long gone and the ones used in the Peace Core. He could protect what he believed with more then just the abilites he was born with.
The decision was made in the next moment, he pushed himself away from the table forgetting his purchases and headed into the crowds. The Leader moved toward the outskirts of the market, trailing the wall to make it quicker toward the contained flames. If someone needed his help he would give it, even if he didn't know who the person was.

The will to win is important. But the will to survive is Vital.

The young man stood in the mid of a small circle whispers were carried through out the surrounding people. The large woman burst through the men surrounding him. Her dress charred, and burnt in more then a few places, the front was almost completely black now, and the boa was a black sting hanging around her neck her make up was running down her angry face --she kinds looks like a evil clown-- Lile thought, her face showed that clearly s no more flirt was left but only hatred towards Lile now. His honey gold eyes narrowed. "Well grab him and the person who takes him in will get rewarded. maybe there name off the lists" she sang in a gargled tone that indicated smoke had been inhaled. Lile felt his chest tighten. He had been trained to fight from the day he could walk. the man- his teacher, was also his family's murderer. He knew the united ways of fighting, new the old techniques used before/ and in the great war for face to face combat- Lile wasn't truly in any danger from there greed driven idiots.

Running his pale hand through his blonde hair, Lile's honey gold eyes shaved through the faces that were nodding there agreement at the Woman's words. his shoulders tensed, Ghost was no where to be seen. a figure moving around the back wall of the crowd caught his eye. it was the guy who had entered right before Lile- the other Divided. his eyes tried to meet he could feel his normal instincts t use his ability to make a quick escape but that would only put him at more risk. lowering his head a shadows cast of his eyes and slashed across the plains of Lile's face giving a mysterious quality to him. One where you never know what could be happening in his head. the help from the other Divided sou wasn't his first choice but if he could make an ally out of another divided... --Get his help.. no... ally... urg-- his thoughts raced he couldn't decide what he wanted, only that h knew he had made a mistake using his power.

"What is it!?" He growled at the knock. Turning as his second in command came through, towing a sobbing man in her wake. The mention of The Black Market made the scowl ease slightly and his eyes spark with interest. "So you have something to tell me about The Black Market." He approached the man in the chair, giving him a once over and disliking what he saw. Another scum who tainted the name of The United. "That is something I would enjoy hearing..." he searched for what the man’s name was, Aasiyah had mentioned it, "Rufus." Instead of sitting in a chair, Vegas leaned against his desk. His presence was demanding, his eyes as cold as stone and unwavering as he stare the snitch down.

|| Aasiyah Sari Valeska || 21 Years Old Female || Second in Command of the United Peace Core ||

As Rufus only made an even bigger fool of himself, Sari could tell Vegas was getting annoyed. Kneeling down to the man’s level, Sari gently patted his head.
“Please Rufus? Just tell him what you told me. Once you speak….and tell the truth…. I’ll set you free.” The smile she gave him was sincere however her eyes sent shivers of fear down his body.
“They run it in the forest, just on the outskirts of town.” Rufus was shaking making his words come out in tiny pieces.
“And?” Sari guided the man along.
“And….And…. it only opens once a week. The day and time changes for each market day.”
“How do you know this?” Sari was getting impatient.
“I’m just a mover, miss. I swear! I just help load and unload the cargo.”
“Who runs this market?”
“He… I don’t know his name, miss. But me and the boys call him sparky.”
“Why sparky?”
“He… He can make electricity.” With another sob the man fell quite. Looking over at Vegas, Sari smiled.
“What do you think boss? Should I let him go or keep him in the cells?”

Mayia Arakai Hikamaru
As Mayia watched Hamlet, she was pulled into shock when Hamlet took off, yowling about fire and fighting... Not again. Mayia had to live in these streets, so she would rather that they weren't defiled by blood. The disgusting crimson substance that made her senses go nuts with flashes of frightening dreams, whether she was awake or not. "Hamlet!" She called out, running after the cat while dodging the crowd. She had been doing this for years, since the second that she realized what she was doing with her life having worried so much about her past, or lack there of.

"Over here, Mayia! Some lady put a bounty on a Divided's head! It's no one you know!" Hamlet yowled over the crowd as Mayia caught up, the cat having hidden himself in the alley as soon as Mayia was close enough to see the crowd for herself. She narrowed her eyes quietly before she threaded her way through the crowd and saw a plump United woman... Terrific... She was up against the upper class, and tightening the hood around her face, she decided quietly that she was going to have to keep peace in what she was forced to call her home.

"You hunt one person, you fight two." Mayia said harshly, only her mouth and her bangs showing from under her cloak. She reached down to her forearm and pulled out a candle sized metal rod while she stared through her bangs towards the woman who placed the bounty. She didn't want blood on her streets, no lifeless bodies on the ground before her. "Anyone willing to step forwards?" She hissed, fear buried deep in her eyes, but her stance expressing just how experienced she was. Living in Pith was a dog eat dog kind of world... Learning how to protect yourself, and how to live was necessary, so she was ready to fight, as much as she really... Really didn't want to. She could feel her knees starting to buckle. She never faced so many people at once before.

As he walked, Kyle idly stroked the down feathers on Faiths back, his eyes racking the crowd as he shifted through it. He had to admit that the ignorence of some of the civilians around him was beyond frustrating but they all had their reasons to believe what the United Peace Core told them; they just wanted normal lives, no hassle, no fuss. Even if it was a cowards way to go, Kyle still saw their way of thinking as logical. Despite how they were crumbling, the United could be very persuasive with their tactics. Kyle supposed that most were fearful of the consequences of a rebellion.

Kyle felt Faith shift uneasily on his shoulder and he lifted his gaze to her, making soothing shushing noises under his breath. Her feathers ruffled slightly and she did a three-sixty degree turn but she did calm down eventually. He wondered what had gotten her so shaken. As he looked around, he saw no source for it at all. "Calm down, you're making me nervous," he chuckled lightly, watching as she rubbed her beak against his ear, nipping at his hair, and he rolled his eyes. He had to admit for a once-wild bird, she was very timid. And bizarre.

Soon, however, they reached the Black Market - much to Kyle's relief. He remembered the specific knock that Kay had taught him did as he remembered. Luckily, his memory served him well and, sure enough, the door to the Black Market opened and he was ushered inside. Faith cawed suddenly, causing Kyle nearly leap out of his skin. He tapped her beak, telling her to say quiet or else he'd leave her outside, before he continued through the throng of people. Thats when he noticed a crowd. It was a fairly thick crowd from what he could make out at this distance. That and there seemed to be a lone boy at its centre. Kyle frowned. This was odd, even for the Black Market.

As he neared the crowd, Kyle noticed a certainly distressed-looking woman. Either she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards or went to one heck of a party. From the state of her face and clothes, Kyle guessed it was a mish-mash of the two. Then Kyle's gaze rested on the boy. He looked a little older than himself, Kyle noted, but there was something about him that came across as familair and Kyle wondered if he was one of the Divided. Kyle's memory was appauling, to be quiet honest. He was surprised that he could remember the location of the Divided's hide-out let alone the name of one of the group.

Kyle was even more surprised, however, when a girl appeared. She seemed to've appeared from nowhere but he guessed she'd been observing at one of the stalls. Now this girl was most definately a Divided, for sure. Her attitude said it all. Actions speak louder than words. Kyle was willing to step forward himself but he was beginning to wonder if all the Divided in the place stepped out then they'd all be in huge trouble. He'd have to find some other subtle way to help.

"Ѳн... OH, YEAH, THAT'S PROBABLY IT," ROWAN SAID OFFHANDEDLY, ALTHOUGH STILL RACKING HER BRAIN for an answer. She waited there, looking thoughtfully at Nicolai. An anxious mew from Monster aroused her conscious, and her face reddened in embarrassment. "Bye," Rowan said hurriedly, walking away at a brisk pace. A few yards away, she slowed down. "Beat 'im good," she called over her shoulder, and gave a tiny metronome wave.

Nicolai Ruan
Nicolai usually didn't hang out with other people, but that didn't mean he didn't know how to act in situations like this. Rowan didn't seem timid, but at the same time, she didn't seem all that outgoing. She didn't seem to be the kind of girl that got on his nerves, so her company… wasn't completely unwanted. At the moment, though, she seemed antsy. The second he heard a rushed farewell, he blinked cluelessly for a moment before waving her off quietly. "I'll… see you soon." He called back as she basically ran from him. "And I'll be sure to!" He added on as he frilled a polite smile. Turning towards the restaurant he worked in, he sighed softly as he tried to think of what he had to do to punish Dex again…

Яσωαи KICKED A STRAY PIECE OF GARBAGE ALONG THE GROUND, WEAVING AMONG THE CROWD OF SHOPPERS, which, being so late at night, was beginning to shrink. She now had a good idea of where she'd seen Nicolai before, but wasn't ready to jump to conclusions just yet. Monster seemed to pick up on her nervous energy, and crawled around to her right shoulder to give her ear an affectionate lick. Rowan didn't even look up from the concrete, which gave off a distorted reflection of the cold light emitted by the fixtures above. Suddenly, the trash she was kicking rolled over one man's expensive-looking shoes, spilling a dark liquid over the supple leather. Rowan braced herself for an angry response, tensing the muscles in her legs to prepare for a quick getaway. She looked up.
The man did not look like he belonged here. He was too well-nourished. Too manicured, almost as if he actually cared whether or not he was covered in a thick layer of grime—a characteristic not shared by most of the black market goers. Slowly he turned to face her, his nose wrinkling in distaste. He grabbed her by the shoulder with one enormous hand, and pulled her in against his torso (this did not alarm the market goers, as the harassment of young women, especially ones who looked like Rowan, was common practice). Rowan was ready to spit out all of the nastiest insults in her expansive arsenal, but she felt something cold being pressed against the base of her neck. A gun; the man lifted up a chunk of her thick, wavy hair, and found the divided brand. There was a click.
The man stumbled backwards, holding the left side of his face in both hands. The gun laid on the ground, and Rowan noticed the it was emblazoned with the symbol of the Peace Corps. Monster was on the ground now, back arched, hissing. Rowan scrambled to seize the gun, and immediately stuffed it inside her jacket—she had no idea how to use it. At the sight of the gun, the shop owners nearest to them began doing their best to hide their wares, pouring hot soup into apron pockets, cramming books down shirts, piling anything illegal onto neighboring stalls. When the man brought his hand away, there were three jagged lines going over his eye, and blood on his hand. "Aw, crap," Rowan breathed, taking a few steps back. What was the Peace Corps doing in the black market?

++ No man is above the law and no man is below it: nor do we ask any man's permission when we ask him to obey it ++

Vegas cocked his head as he rolled the new information around in his mind. The forest, he had been there a few times but the old trees were so twisted and poisioned that it was difficult to navigate. The nickname 'Sparky' now that was something he was familiar with. He wasn't sure the mans name, but he had heard the same thing from most people. A boy ran the Divided, one who could control and create electricty. His eyes narrowed and he grunted, "The Cells," he moved toward the map. "He has broken the law and he must be punished. The rules bend for no one."

((ooc: sorry guys. Been really really busy this weekend and everything T_T I am a bit blocked with Kay right now. Will write his post later))

Giving the guard behind her a nod, Aasiyah let the pair take the sniffling man to the cells. Walking around the chairs in front of his desk, she stood beside him looking over the map. Seeing a mess of his notes that covered the map, Aasiyah sighed.
“Vegas… When was the last time you left your office?” She looked the man over from head to toe. “Aren’t those the same clothes you wore two days ago!?”
