Nightshade, still hidden in the shadows, began to follow the riders, moving at an easy lope. She leapt into the trees, silently hopping from branch to branch. Her wings were spread slightly, and the edges seemed to be dissolving into shadows. The tip of her tail and the tips of her horns seemed to be doing the same. This was no illusion, it was really happening, as she was using some of her shadow power to make herself harder to see. It was an automatic thing, but she could control it if she wanted.

Legolas looked around at the group of people that was left. "Well, shall we go, then? Aragorn, each of us can take a hobbit with us on our horses. Let us ride for Gondor, and see what troops we can rally along the way. However, I warn you, many will doubt Sauron's return, and others will be fearful. Either way, I fear that we will not be able to get much help." His blue eyes glinted in the sunlight, but blazed with an inner fire of internal preparation for hardship.

Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the harp on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the deadwood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

Aragorn nodded, picking Merry up easily and placing him on his horse. Then he mounted.
"I know. We shall not have many warriors, but we have all grown more powerful after The War of the Ring." He smiled, looking around at all his companions as memories came into his mind. Legolas, Merry, Pippin... part of the fellowship was there, and he would never forget all the time he had spent with them.

Lunaryn mounted her horse and followed the others, feeling slightly out of place. Luciero trotted down the path obediently behind the other horses, and the elf began to think of all the adventures that could happen to them.

((Should I make Gimli? Or does someone else want to make him? In which case I think I'll stop RPing Lunaryn, she seems kind of out of place :? ))

(I don't know, I generally wouldn't take him on because I'm already Legolas so some of that interaction would be lost.)

Merry smiled, glad to be riding with Aragorn on his majestic steed. They were off to war again, and nobody was objecting to the presence of hobbits this time. He closed his eyes for a second and imagined himself, fighting beside his friends to squelch evil, for glory or ruin. Either way, it would be exciting. He opened his eyes quickly to see the ground passing by beneath their feet at an alarming rate, as the horse had sped up quite a bit.

Legolas picked up Pippin and set him on the mare, then climbed up behind. He twitched the reins and tapped her side, turning her so that they were facing the road. "Noro lim, Eodhen, for that is what I shall call you." The mare Eodhen reared up, then thundered off down the road after the others, Legolas making sure they brought up the rear to keep watch in the back.

Pippin grabbed on to Eodhen's mane, looking down at the ground that seemed to pass by so quickly. Once he was used to the speed he turned around.
"So, Legsie. Are you happy to be on a new adventure? I hope we go through the mines of Moria again, that was fun!" he exclaimed, looking in front "Why don't you overtake Aragorn? Then we could do a race!"

Legolas smiled, but didn't look down at the hobbit because he was watching the road. "Yes, I am glad for the excitement. I do not think we would be able to get through the Mines, though. Large parts of the safe path through were destroyed when we went through. And I think we may race Aragorn later. For now we must guard the rear of the group, until we are far enough away from civilization that we would be able to see danger coming over the open plains."

(you can play Gimli)
Nightshade spread her wings, flapping experimentally, then flew over the path, silent as a moonshadow. Her body began to dissolve, until she seemed to be made of swirling mist, with two green glints for eyes. She swooped down next to Legolas, speaking in a soft, echoing voice. "See, this is why you do not see a shadow dragon unless they want you to. We are literally shadows given flesh and life, and there is no place a shadow cannot hide. Even in the midst of a raging fire, there are shadows." Nightshade flew very close to Legolas, without fear of crashing, as she was intangible.

Legolas did not show signs of being startled by the dragon's voice, but he felt the stirring of the wind made by her wings on his arms. "Does the stone give you that power? Sauron would find a way to use that power if it does. Then it would make our quest much more difficult." He looked down towards Pippin, curious to see what the hobbit thought of the dragon's invisibility.

Pippin sighed "I suppose so" he yawned, but suddenly sat bolt upright.
"But Legolas, we haven't brought anything with us! We have no daggers, no adventure clothes. And I even forgot my leaf pin! I haven't even got my tin of pipeweed! Merry! We have forgotten the pipeweed! We must go back!" He grew quiet as he saw the misty figure next to him, and gulped. "Well that is useful then! That means you can live anywhere, and not have to dig a nice litte hobbit hole! I wonder what it is like to live in a fire... that would be amazing!"he sighed "But if Sauron got all that power, we would be doomed" This sentence reminded him of Lord Elrond, that always spoke the word "doom"

Legolas chuckled at the concern in Pip's voice when he thought of the pipeweed. "We shall get you provisions when we reach our allies. Aragorn and I can provide food for you from the wilderness, and I have some traveling cloaks and blankets with me. I have been traversing Arda in my spare time."

Merry looked back at his friend in alarm when he heard the cry about pipeweed. "No weed? At all? We shall surely die, Aragorn. Pipeweed is a staple of our diets, even though we don't eat it. The smoke keeps us mentally healthy!" Legolas snorted with laughter when he heard 'mentally healthy.'
