Red line is where I sketch over what you drew to show where problems are

It's helpful if you plan to redraw or if you're more visual.

xXxAkumaSoulxXx --- Comment on other people's drawings, too. You have two posts recently where you did not. Also, when you're done with your livestream, edit the post, please, so that people know not to click it.
Everyone --- As Nex DoctorDraca said a few pages ago, please comment on people's posts within ten pages of yours. It doesn't hurt you to reply to more than one person at a time.

Hmm... Sure you can redline it. ^^ I think it might help me see where my flaws are, though that bottom fin might be kind of hard to see properly. U.U
::Summer:: - Okay, I'll keep that in mind. ^^

redlined (blue lined? /bad joke) that for you. Its hard to offer specific advice because it is a different species, but I liked the pose idea that you had. With the pose, I tweaked it slightly (:x), I brought the ears up just a little bit and cocked the head (going off of the canine idea) to add interest to the idea of looking up. You said you were having trouble with the tail, the general position of the tail would go along with a somewhat confident/ curious pose.
On the legs, I wanted to point out that when one side goes forward, the other goes back. You can see that
here. With the leg length, I noticed the legs were shorter than usual. The correct length would depend on what your species does, if it is a burrower (like a dachshund) it would need shorter legs, and a more lethargic personality lol. If it's more athletic and chases prey, it would need longer legs.
Akuma Soul, all I can think is that you must have a very steady hand lol. I love the tribal pattern and your signature is beautiful

The back front paw seems a little bit small, but honestly I think it's pretty good.
Edit:
Has anyone been skipped? ~ kind of wanting to red line because I'm too lazy to draw from scratch right now XD
Thank you SO much! =3 I'll work on that now.

Lovely Radiance,
here
. I noticed another thing when redlining, make sure to have the parts of the fins going in the same direction/curving the same way. With making the head thinner, I hope the redline answers your question!
Neelix, no problem :3

I cannot thank you enough. ^^ This looks so much better, and I get the head and neck thing now. It's also made me see how to do certain details in the face, so thank you very much Tide, I'll try to apply this method to future artwork. ^^

Lovely Radiance wrote: Okay this'll be my first time posting here. ^^ I want to see if I might be able to get some help for anatamy and proper lighting for this:

I need to work on making my light source in the right places, and I was hoping if someone could tell me if this is fine or what I should do to possibly fix it.
If there's anything you think I might be able to improve on please let me know. ^^
First off, welcome to the Artist Army! c:
I think Tide's done a good job at helping you already. As far as anatomy goes, I suggest looking up references of snakes and fish (as your creature is basically a snake with fins), and see how they look. How fins can look, how big they can get, etc. Looking at photos of these animals can also help you to come up with patterns and colours.
For lighting, I suggest not over-using the airbrush, and stay away from black in the shading! To shade, use colours (like dark blue and violet) and avoid black. Black will give your creature an unnatural feel. Once you have the shading down, then use the airbrush to highlight parts in a lighter colour (like light yellow) and use a smaller, semi-transparent brush to add smaller highlights (like small specs on a smooth surface). Avoid going outside of the lines where the light hits the creature. It's alright to have the lightsource wide where the light is produced, but unless your creature is glowing completely, mind the outlines.
You do have a good sense of where the light is supposed to be, and keeping a consistent lightsource. Overall, you did a very good job, you just need to toy around with shading and lighting more. Then again, don't we all? :p
----------------
Now for something completely different.
But not that different.
I decided to sketch around during classes and redesigned an earlier creature.
This was it before (the middle one).
This is it after.
I dropped the heavy crest and gave it a bit more muscle, yet tried to keep it nice. It did lose a bit of its scariness.
I see it as improvement, though. And I intend on changing its features and adding new ones to make it a bit more scary again, though I am open to suggestions on making it even better.

I really like how you did the light coming through the water. That part looks really nice.
I think I copied it too much. Sigh.

I'm thinking about making the ears tufted.
Crits welcome, and Tide, I'm really sorry for copying it so much... I tried to make it my own, but I think this is nearly art theft, although it wasn't intentional.
