johnny slammed on his breaks when he saw Isabelle's wings. they were only 10 feet away from her and johnny stared in surprise at her

"whoa! johnny what the he-" Fernandez said then broke off as he followed johnny's gaze, his mouth partly still open, "huh.... "

Isabelle jumped just about a million feet and stutter stepped several feet back, hiding her wings as quickly as she was able and staring, eyes wide with fear, into the headlights of the car. Run, Isabelle, fly! Fight? Who are they? What if they have powers? I should have started flying right away; what do I do now?! Please, whatever God is listening, let them not have seen my wings! She stood there, seemingly frozen, about 10 feet in front of the car that'd just very nearly run her over, fighting to keep her wings- which felt like they were fighting to be unfurled- hidden.

she nodded "like poisons and pesticides that they eat and other stuff they use to make it taste better"

Rye chuckled. "I'm fairly certain that food animals don't go around eating poisons and pesticides; I'm pretty sure pesticides and the like aren't randomly sprayed on the food they're fed at feed lots or the pastures where farmers intend to turn out their animals. And as far as taste goes," he shrugged. "I don't really care what they use, though I'm pretty sure none of it is too harsh, since people have been eating meat for hundreds of years and we're still around." He looked at Star, interested in her point of view. His interest showed in his eyes, though they were mostly hidden behind his hair.

"well if they dident use rainbows to keep bugs from eating the hay and food and growth things and as for the poisons how do you know rats have not died on the hay decomposed then the cos and everything eat it by mistake and all" she said

Rye smirked, but the expression held no malice. "Growth hormones aren't exactly poisonous. Pesticides that would be harmful to humans aren't used on pastures that stock is meant to be turned out on, and they go through testing before they're sold to feed lots, anyway. Animals typically don't eat dead things unless it's their food source; so unless the rat or snake died a very long time ago, I don't think you need to worry about that- and the digestive system would take care of any toxins, anyway." He really wasn't serious about the argument- if it even could be called that- which showed in the half-smile on his face. Vaguely, he tried to think back to the last time he'd smiled while communicating with someone... It'd been quite a while.

(((You should know that I live on a farm, so if you're opinions are the same as Stars, I really and truly don't mean to offend you! I respect that everybody has differen't opinions and different points of views that they are entirely entitled to, but I, personally, am on Agriculture's team 100% )))

She rolled her eyes "they kill it by hitting it in the forehead with a metal thing i dont think its right" she huffed and watched the water something was different about it it seemed thicker then normal

Rye shrugged yet again, following her gaze as he thought about what she'd said. "It's not always like that," he said. "But... Is... Is there something kind of odd about the water, or is it just me?" He looked out over the surface of the water.
