I have seen that toms generally get larger and appear heavier bones if they're allowed to remain intact until they hit their first year, but I haven't seen any specific health pros or cons for it. The thing with toms is that an intact tom is much more likely to spray once he reaches sexual maturity or when he's exposed to a queen in heat (and the second one isn't much preventable if you have strays or feral cats in the area) than a neutered male. Cats can be safely operated on as soon as they are at least 2lbs, but most vets prefer 4-6mos for kittens.
