The pure white she-cat sat in the narrow enterance of the apprentices' den, the expression in her it blue eyes proud and content. After so many long, tedious moons of waiting and watching, she was finally an apprentice! Smiling, she dipped her head to a warrior and began to groom her flufy pelt, wondering what hunting was like. Some of the other apprentices had shown her the 'Hunter's crouch' when she was a kit, but Pearlpaw was impatient for her training to start. Sighing, she glanced around for her mentor.

Tidalpaw turned around as she heard Featherstorm calling for Hawkfeather. She let out a loose grin as she spotted her mentor and turned towards Lightningstar with a "I'm sorry, I really suppose that I should get going," and began to head off to the medicine cat's den. She entered into the small shelter, blinking to adjust her eyes to the dim lighting. "May I help?" she asked. Although sorting herbs honestly was not her favorite thing to do as a medicine cat apprentice, she still did it in the hopes of showing her Clanmates her worth and that she knew how to handle herbs. She always felt like she had to prove herself to everyone else in FlameClan.

Eveningsky sat up in his moss nest and let out a tired stretch. The first rays of dawn were already beginning to filter gently through the cracks in the warrior's den. The warrior flashed his sharp eyes around the den to look for someone to talk to. Settling on Fawndapple, he began to pad after her as she left, partially hoping that she would notice him and partially hoping that she wouldn't.

The warrior stopped abruptly in her tracks, frowning and blinking sleepily like she had forgotten something. After a few seconds she shook her head, yawning again and sitting down near the fresh-kill pile. Fawndapple curled her tail neatly around her small brown paws and swiped a paw across her ears. "Oh, hello Eveningsky." She greeted the tom with a small nod.

Lightningstar nodded politely. "Have fun." He said, his tail twitching as he watched her go off. He looked at the sky, his electric blue eyes shining. He looked around, wondering who there was to talk to. His pelt slightly ruffled, he looked around, his muscles rippling, he walked over to the fresh-kill pile. He took a deep breath of the scent of fresh-kill. He let out a contented sigh and picked up a small vole.

Eveningsky stopped in his tracks with surprise, looking like a deer caught in headlights. He immediately recovered himself a heartbeat later, shaking his head and scolding himself inwardly. Way to go, Eveningsky. You've made such a fool of yourself in front of her. At least act like you have some social skills. "Hi, Fawndapple," he greeted quietly, dipping his head towards her. He began to pad awkwardly towards the fresh-kill pile, not being able to think of much to say. He was always so frustratingly tongue-tied like that around she-cats, even the ones that he didn't think he had particular interest in. He flicked his own tail in irritation at himself before sitting down next to the pile and carefully selecting a piece of prey.

Fawndapple blinked, smiling and purring in amusement at Eveningsky's reaction. She gave her chest a couple of quick licks to flatten the sleep-ruffled fur, then turned to see the trail of moss from her nest that had fallen from her pelt. Grinning sheepishly, she turned and walked over to the fresh-kill pile. A small mouse was soon in her jaws, and she trotted over to Eveningsky and sat. "Yum."

Eveningsky glanced up at Fawndapple just as she sat down next to him, his fur warming up with heat as he re-ran the situation over and over in his head. He hadn't noticed the way she'd glanced at him sheepishly when she'd noticed the moss ball on his fur earlier. Did she possibly like him? Why else would she be sitting with him? The tom was always thinking such thoughts whenever a she-cat interacted with him or even talked with him. "The prey does taste very nice," he agreed, trying to keep his voice even. He bent his head over his prey without looking at the she-cat, for fear that his eyes would give everything that he was thinking away.

Fawndapple finished the mouse and swiped her rough tongue around her jaws, smiling with satisfaction. She turned to Eveningsky, suddenly realising that she might be making him feel slightly uncomfortable by being so close. Not wanting to appear too forced, she smiled and yawned, then scrambled to her paws. "The fresh-kill pile is looking a bit low." she noted. "I'm gonna go hunting." Before the warrior could reply, she turned and bounded away through the enterance.
