Alois watched quietly as Soundless Whipping and Child's Play led the field, pulling ahead by several lengths.

It was ironic, really, that it was black versus grey.

Dark versus light, in a way.

As they came on to the homestretch, the black colt started to give an extra 'umph' to his speed, his strides lengthening and legs becoming a black blur, starting to take off like a black bullet.

Whether or not Soundless Whipping put in the strength to keep up and put up a fight to the end was left to the jockey now.

"Thank you," she said with a sigh. She was definitely becoming more tired as the afternoon carried on. By the end of the races though it'd only be late afternoon, time to return home for dinner. She'd probably have dinner and then retire early for the night.

Soundless Whipping, being an older horse, knew when to conserve his energy, and so did the jockey. They had been waiting for their opponent to make a move, and when Child's Play bolted forwards, the jockey kicked him into gear.

Now, they always say the hero prevails. Justice ruling all. But this race seemed to be split down the middle. The ending was abrupt, too close to call, and the camera man was a bit slow in reaction to snapping the winning photo.

William blinked as the race came to an end, the cheer of the patrons both in the room and down bellow deafening. Claude kept a bored stare, the stragglers of the race hobbling along behind the two stars of the hour.

Alois couldn't tell which horse had run, both of them had moved far too quickly for the naked eye to tell.

His horse was a closer though, and had made the good move of waiting until he was at the homestretch to really put in a bit of effort.

But still, it could be either one.

He simply waited for the official results to come in.

The results were delivered via corrier, and read to the VIPs while a card placer put the winning name up on the board for the remaining public. It seemed to be that age, and light for that matter, had continued its legacy.

"Ah. What a wonderful race." William chimed, nodding to his master, and then looking over at Claude and Alois. "It seems our 'reject' hasn't found himself to be dog food just yet, wouldn't you agree?"


Claude scoffed. "Indeed." he replied, pushing up his glasses. His tone suggested irritation, but that was about it. He made no snippy remarks.

The butler in white smiled, then held out his gloved hadn to Hollyn. "Shall we take our leave now?" he inquired.


(Lol... I feel bad for having to choose. Child's Play would probably whip Soundless Whipping the next time he came around.)

Hollyn nodded. "Right, let's go then..." She yawned. "It's been a long day." Hollyn said. The previous night she hadn't gotten as much sleep as she would've wanted due to how loud the storms got. The rain by itself had put her to sleep but then a huge crash of thunder jolted her awake every time one crashed, so it was only natural that she be tired the following day. She smiled slightly.

Bernard watched the race come to an end and glanced at Hollyn, seeing how tired she looked. He watched William extend his hand to her and frowned, stepping in and nudging his way in front of the Butler. "Yes, let's get you home for dinner. I'm sure you've had a very full afternoon." he grinned, holding out his arm for the Mistress to take.

Alois merely smiled at the butler clad in white and his mistress, even when given the snide remark.

"Congratulations, miss." He added, keeping his irritatingly cheerful smile, voice bittersweet.

He turned to Claude and smirked.

"Shall we pay the beast one last visit before we head back to the manor?" He said, exiting the stands and strolling towards his horse, trainer and jockey as they made their way to the stables.

Oddly enough, he didn't seem upset in the slightest.

Why?

His colt was only two, yet, he had managed to give the older, more expirienced horse a run for his money.

The Count was smarter than he seemed, when it came to horses.

When he approached the team, he gave Child's Play a pat on the neck, listening to the trainer ramble on and on, as well as the jockey.

He turned to Claude after they were through, the trainer, jockey and horse heading to the cooling area.

"I'm ready to leave now. Is the carriage ready?"

Ciel gave his instructor a fake grin.
"Indeed," he replied, his tone a sweet greeting. He crossed the room to the gramophone and gently placed the needle on the record. A burst of music filled the room as he joined his teacher to begin his lesson. He delicately took her hand and lead her across the room in a series of steps and slides. The lesson didn't go long, however, till he accidentally stepped on her foot while turning her to start in the other direction. With a kind smile, she quickly corrected his miss-step and guided him through the the steps more carefully. When his lesson was over, Mrs. Haytter joined him at the grand piano for scales and theory. Ciel fragile hands flew over the keys creating sounds and pressing keys which impresses even his teacher. Then it was time for the song. Beethoven's The continued with his study of Beethoven's 'Symphony No. 5' . Ciel grunted, knowing the tune all too well. Nevertheless, Ciel attempted the piece with outstanding effort. His mind juggled each note, tossing them around till each note was played in order upon the black and white keys. He froze, unsatisfied at each of his mistakes, each followed by kind reassurance and correction from his teacher. When his lesson finally ended, Ciel wished Mrs. Haytter a kind farewell, lead her to the front door, and waved goodbye as her carriage drove away. Frowning once again, Ciel began his search for Sebastion throughout the mannor. Were has he ran off to now? Ciel thought to himself as he made his way to the courtyard.

Hollyn looked between her angel and her demon and side. She decided t was better not to create more competition between them and encourage it, so she just passed both of them by. And even though she hated Alois, she nodded her thanks, as she was still tired.
