have you ever seen the rain coming down on a sunny day?
"i have, and boy, does it come down hard. it's like it wants to engulf you whole and spit out your remains. it want's to make you into nothing, just another wave in its mass production. its like everything is coming down on you at once, the pressure, the consiquences... and no one seems to notice. everyone just goes about their buisiness like its nothing. funny, huh? i mean, you just want at least one person to stop and ask if you're alright. just one person! but you get nothing, and nothing gets you."
nimble prosperity took one good look at herself in the puddle's reflection and flushed in embarrassment. "mother would have never allowed for this to happen. she was strong, and so i have to be too." but you never knew her! nim leapt in a graceful bound over the puddle, landing safely on the other side. she weaved through the many torn and tattered boxes in her little alleyway until she came to the very back, a small fort built for her shelter, pressed against the molded concrete wall. "I swere... humans are so worried about their looks and dont bother to clean whats around them." she mumbled to herself, nosing her way into her small shelter. it was nothing but a watered down box with a couple of blankets she found in a dumpster, but it was something. when she had first become a stray, she used to just sleep in the tunnel slide at the park, but that ended when the human pups' mother got nervous with her being around and called animal control. "never going back there again!" after that she had found this alleyway, a regular dump for humans. it was kind of good though. the many boxes provided shelter, the town's best bar-b-q resturnat was just a building away, and a dumpster was stashed so far back the trash men never come to dump it, so food was always assessable. yup, and the alley was all hers, reguarly marked feverishly. it was her only home she had left.
