Kanar finally decided to call it a night. He released a tired breath and stood up. He stretched and looked at the starfighter he'd been working on. It was ancient and was in desperate need of repairs and upgrades. He was getting paid good money to fix it up and if he finished it early he got paid extra. But he still needed to sleep and eat, unfortunately. He'd already put off eating some dinner.

He switched off the light in his shabby shop and locked the large garage door. He started walking across the street towards his home. Then he saw two jumpy looking girls standing around his front door. He raised an eyebrow. What were they doing? They weren't customers, that was for sure. Everyone looking to hire him knew not to come this late and they knew to come to the garage, not his house.
"Alright, ladies. I'm going to need you to step aside and let me get into my house," he said.

[Quail]

Alanna whirled to him. "What have you done to my friends?!" she hisses and leaps and holds her purple blade to his throat.

Jo whirled around to face the new figure in front of the shop, lightsabers in hand. "Who the h*ll are you?" She glared at him, daring him to make a wrong move. He didn't look very suspicious, but still, she had to be careful.

Kanar's eyes widened when Alanna ignited her lightsaber and put it to his throat,
"Hey, take it easy!" he said, "Look, I don't know what you're talking about."
He paused a moment,
"Wait a second. Oh no, are you guys Jedi? Honestly, can't you people leave me alone?" he asked.

Personality
Kanar seems like a pretty nice guy when you first meet him. He's a bit sarcastic, but he's pretty friendly. He's not very quick to anger and is always willing to work something out. He's laid back and a kind of "go with the flow" type guy. It takes a lot to make him genuinely angry.
Kanar is totally different in a fight though. He's precise and ruthless. He doesn't have much of a conscious and he'll take you out if you're in his way. He's good with a blaster and is good in hand-to-hand combat as well. He doesn't use his lightsaber much but when he does he's proficient in using that as well.
Despite being a Force user, Kanar doesn't use the Force much. He uses it in fights to enhance his speed an agility, but he doesn't need much help in that area since Mirialans are naturally agile. His only uses for the Force are Jedi mind tricks and sensing where other people are. Those skills have saved him more than once.
Kanar is a very skilled mechanic. There isn't anything he can't fix. He's a good pilot too, but that's not necessarily his area of expertise. When Kanar isn't smuggling goods for money he fixes and upgrades ships and other vehicles for people. Working as a mechanic is a steady source of income, so he only takes smuggling jobs if he needs some big cash fast.

History
Kanar was expelled from the Jedi Order as a Padawan for being too unruly. He never listened to his master and often let anger and passion control his actions. He had a complete disregard for authority. His master gave up and no one else wanted to train him. The Council determined that the life of a Jedi was not for him and they expelled him.
He was sent back to his home world of Mirial but he didn't say long. He hadn't been there a week before he stole a ship and blasted off the planet's surface. He hid out on remote worlds, trying to avoid the authorities. He was caught eventually but was given a small punishment because he was so young. They tried to send him to a reform school on Coruscant. That went about as well as expected. Kanar was there for about a month before he escaped.
After that Kanar got smarter. He found a job in the underworld of Coruscant at a mechanic's shop. There he learned everything he knows about machines. He became proficient at repairing and upgrading all kinds of vehicles. He made good money and after a while he was able to buy his own ship which he named the Hawkbat. He made tons of upgrades to the ship, especially to the shields, hyperdrive, and weapons. He kept working with the mechanic for several years, building up enough funds to strike out on his own. When he did quit his job, he got mixed up with some pirates from Felucia. Long story short, he caused an accident that made the pirates loose some of the loot they'd just acquired from a nearby colony. They told him that he could either repay them by doing some smuggling work for them, or they'd kill him. He obviously chose the former. He didn't know the first thing about smuggling, but living in the underworld for so long he'd learned some things. Using a combination of machine smarts and Jedi mind tricks, he completed his mission with no major incidents.
After that smuggling became a regular thing for Kanar. It was how he made enough money to live off of and he got pretty good at it too. He kept upgrading his ship and taking jobs. He's perfected Jedi mind tricks and it's the only reason he hasn't been to jail in a long time. Now-a-days he still takes plenty of smuggling jobs but he's also settled down in the Coruscant underworld in his own apartment. He stays there most of the time fixing and upgrading vehicles for people. He's become pretty well known for what he does and no longer needs to find people who need his services, they just come to him.

His ship, the Hawkbat, is a HWK-290 transport. Kanar has fitted it with several laser canons as the original was unarmed and a class 1.0 hyperdrive. He's made other modifications as well and included some secret compartments secured with a Force-activated locks for smuggling.

Jo ignited her red lightsaber. "Jedi? Far from it I'm afraid." She walked up to him and put her hand on Alanna's shoulder. "Calm down, he isn't dangerous." She smirked. "If he does anything we'll just kill him." Sighing she realized Alanna wasn't going anywere without some answers. "My friend here had some... aquaintances who lived here in the past. do you know what happened to them?"

{Naw, he looks fine.}

[Quail]

"Where is my sister then?" she snapped at her, tears welling in her eyes. "She owned this place! Now shes gone!"

"Look, I don't know anything about your sister. All I know is there was some girl living here a few months ago and she moved out. The place was for sale for a cheap price so I took it. You satisfied?" Kanar asked. He gave the girls an annoyed look. He looked at the lightsaber still at his throat, "And could you please get that thing out of my face?"

Jo glanced at Alanna and then back to Kanar. "Oi, what's your name?" She asked, just because, if he ratted them out, she'd know who to come for. "Well?"

Alanna hissed at him and deactivaited her lightsaber. Closing her eyes, she tested him. Does he have the Force... I think so...

Jo nodded. He does. It's faint and untrained but it's there. She glanced at Kanar who seemed releaved just to be able to leave. How peculiar.
