Yeah, I wish my mom was like that.
No, my mom is "You stay in little box, you shall not do anything" and I'm not kidding when I say that.
One of my friends, Becca, her mom is like your's. When Becca was 7 she was allowed to ride her bike 3 miles away from her house if she wanted too. When I was 7 I was convined to the little bit of road in front of my house.
Becca went out in to a large field with little patches of trees which is 5 miles from her house, she didn't tell any one where she was going. She fell asleep out there on a hammick, and didn't come home until the next day at night. Her mom was just like, "Oh, hi."
Now if I'm gone for less than an hour without telling her, I already have 19 text, 23 missed calls, and 14 voicemails. I'm dead serious. My friend, Megan, and I went walking around our neighborhood one time, and us being being who we are we got distracted a lot. Well, I had left my phone at her house. When had only been gone for about 45 minutes. We got back to her house, now note you can see her house from my house, I had 28 text, 37 missed calls, and 35 voice mails. My mom could have walked across the street to Megan's house and asked Megan's mom. No she had to yell at me through my voice mail.
This is just one reason why we don't get along.
