●→ Shim frowned. She followed Krystal, making sure that her steps were more quiet than a mouse’s. She made sure to stay alert. She didn’t want to kill people she might have been friends with under slightly more favorable circumstances, but what choice did she have? She’d volunteered so she could have some dignity if she got home. And if she died, oh well. Shim snuck a quick look at Krystal. “Where is he?” she mouthed.

Krystal nodded at the district three male that was standing infront of her. She took a few steps towards the tribute and looked at him, scanning his face but not making eye contact with him. He was scared, but she could tell that the boy would stand up and fight.

Krystal waited a few seconds, then hurled her spear at him. * time skip *
Krystal nudged the lifeless corpse with the shaft of her spear to make sure he was gone. The canon fired. He was dead. It was almost pitch black now, and they should be making their way back to camp. ''Now that he's dealt with, we should go...'' Krystal suggested, looking back to the girls. She looked at the blood that stained her hands scarlet. 'I'll wash it off when I get back to the lake...' Krystal thought, rubbing them on her trousers. Only a red smudge came off onto the fabric. ''C'mon.''

●→ Shimmer regarded Krystal with concerned eyes. She quickly masked the emotion with a blank, stupid stare. “I don’t recommend washing off in the lake. It’s probably poisoned water,” she added quickly. Shim glanced at the sky. It was almost nighttime. No obstacles so far. That was all just great, but Shim was, quite frankly, more thirsty than she’d ever been in her life. She turned to Krystal. “Tallulah said that there were a few water purifiers in the Cornucopia, though. Maybe we could get something to drink,” she said wistfully, seeming to lift her chin up and tilt her head to the right. A dreamy smile was on her face. The Arena may have been deadly, but it was beautiful.

I nodded to the elder girl, before speaking quietly. "I saw a clean lake eariler. I looked into my pack before and there is a water skin and filters in it. Maybe there are some water filters and skins in the other bags as well as the ones in the cornucopia. We will have an unlimited supply then" I suggested, a submissive ring hanging to my voice. I walk back with them two, but speeding up when I get to the stakes that marked our camp. I get some peices of wood, then scower a tree, bringing the wood with me. I prop the wood into a wedge, then cut them to the right size. I pull out the things from my pack, and I use the large peice of plastic to cover the layers of wood. Little to no water will escape through it now. With the steel wire, I tie the logs in together, so that they are secure. With the remaining rope used from the snares, I tie myself to the trunk, and test it, to see if it is secure. Pleased, I undo the rope and keep it tied around my waist. I zip up the pack and sling it around my shoulder. I jump down from the tree and then haul large amounts of wood into the center of the camp. Then, I go to the lake and collect several rocks that are small and smooth. I get out all the waterskins I could find and prop the inbetween the piles of rock, so that the opening is facing the sky. It will collect water if it rains, which is most likely. "We can filter them if they collect water" I say, humbely. I get a spare rain coat and put it on. "Does anyone want a fire?" I question, sitting on a large log, and picking up stone to create a spark if needed.

After the cannon went off for the District Three boy, Tally silently followed Krystal and Shimmer back to camp. Only when Shim spoke up about the lake did Tallulah speak. "I'm nearly positive there's something off about it. It's too still, and the water's.. I dunno. Thick. I'm not sure how to describe it.." she trailed off, not being able to finish her sentence. "There were some purifiers up by the Cornucopia, so we'll be able to get a drink using those. We should be careful with the amount of water we use anyway." Hollie spoke, and Tally fell silent again. Oh, how this girl was annoying her.. she was walking behind the child, and Tal could just slit her throat right then and there. She restrained herself. Her time would come.

Hollie hurried off again, setting up a sort of filtration system for the water. Tal glared at her, remaining silent as she asked if anybody wanted a fire. She didn't want a fire - in fact, she didn't want to be anywhere near that lake, or Hollie for that matter. Instead of responding, she plopped down onto the ground, reluctantly put down her spear, and slipped off her backpack. She unzipped the pack to have a look inside.

Avalon rested her head against the tree as she caught her breath. She knew she had to find water so after a moment or two she stood and checked to see if the coast was clear. Avalon looked down at her hand to see that she had been gripping her sword so tight her knuckles were white under the black gloves the Capitol assigned her. She had shoved the water treatment kit into one of the pockets of her cargo pants when she was climbing the tree so, after carefully placing her sword across several branches so it couldn't fall, she pulled out the kit and placed it into the large camo backpack that was still on her shoulders. After she closed the top of her pack she realized she hadn't even looked inside it yet, she checked her sword, her only chance of survival in here, and then, seeing that it was safe she opened the pack to examine the contents. She hoped there would something that she could fashion a sheath out of or else she would have to find some vines or other plant material to do the job and she didn't really want to waste her energy doing that.

The anthem went off, and smoke from a fire rose up through the tree tops. All the girls wanted to go, so Kenn stayed behind to set up camp. He waited for them all to go, then went through his pile of items. Where was Lynx?
Kenn grabbed both tents and all eight pieces of large plastic, cutting three of them in half with his jungle knife to equal the smaller pieces. He then grabbed the two smaller pieces and dropped the five large pieces. Kenn opened up the tents and staked them to the ground with the plastic.
Kenn didn't know if they had wanted to sleep in the tents or in the trees. Kenn sure didn't want to sleep in a tree. After crawling first into the camo tent, then into the brown one, Kenn saw that each one held two people, allowing for four of them to sleep and one person to keep watch. Kenn backed out of the tent and wandered around the land by the lake a bit. The lake water was still, and a bit thick. Kenn kicked at it, and it felt odd, not like the pool water he would swim in all the time. Or even the lakes he swam in. Gamemakers, obviously, messed with the lake. Kenn shook his head and almost ran into a tree.
Looking up at the tree, Kenn saw the perfect spot in there to hide out. It would make a good watch spot. It was covered by leaves and was dark, so no one could see you, but the spread out leaves allowed you to see everywhere. Kenn smiled to himself and climbed up the tree. He had the perfect plan.
Kenn put his foot in one of the knotholes near the bottom, more than likely holding storage food for the local animals. Kenn grabbed a branch jutting out just above him, "running" up the tree. Kenn didn't have to climb for long to get to the spot, as it was close to the ground.
When Kenn sat down in it, he saw that it was comfortable. Kenn got himself situated just in time, as the girls came back bickering and talking loudly. Kenn almost laughed at them, but remembered to stay quiet. This would be the best practical joke ever played in the Games.
The girls all got back to camp, talking about the oddness of the water. Their backs were to him, so Kenn slowly and silently moved into a crouching position to jump from the tree. It was only about six feet in the air, just above eye level. That was just over Kenn's height. Two inches, to be exact.
When Hollie went through her pack to get a water skin or filter, Kenn didn't hear nor care, Kenn couldn't hold himself anymore. He leaped through the air, going a bit further than expected and landing right in front of the lake. Kenn wasn't screaming like an Indian- rather, saying in a regular voice "I-yi-yi-yi-yi-yi" and rolling when he landed. He stood up right in front of the lake and held his hands up as though he just preformed an acrobatics act.
"Have no fear, Kenn is here!" Kenn joked, a huge smile on his face. "Didn't see that coming, did you, Hollie? Anyone else?" Kenn quickly had to add that last bit, though the girls probably noticed that it was directed at Hollie. Kenn took a few steps toward the tents and faced them all.

I adjusted the water contraption while Kenn jumped down on me. As a reaction, like from the girl in district three, I was about to throw my knife but hesitated when I realised it was Kenn. I threw it anyway, but it landed just inbetween his feet as a warning "What the heck? Have you gone insane from tracker jacker stings?" I scream, but it turns into laughter as I fall to the floor in a fit of giggle, almost choking. As it eventually dies down, I sit back up, eyes now serious. "Who is on first watch" I say, busily working at the fire until a spark kindles the flame and it creates a roaring fire. I collect leaves, and spear them upon the stakes and use a stick of flames to light the fires. Tributes will know we are out there. "Does anyone want any food?" I question, pulling out my knife from before. It is pitch black now, and the only light is the fires. I then get all the food out from the pile, and start ordering things. Weapons, food, supplies.

In her camo pack, Tal found a series of useful things; a spare pair of socks, a loaf of bread, two packs of nuts, a pair of night vision glasses, a spile, two knives, antiseptic and bandages. The pack, now that she looked at it, was actually fairly small compared to the others she'd seen. But Tallulah didn't complain - her trident clipped onto it nicely, and her knives slipped into the side pockets quite easily (although she kept two in her jacket, just in case). Pleased, Tally turned the spile in her hand. She had seen them in the markets at home - in fact, she used to have one. Useful things for when the street urchin's collection of rain water ran low. This sort of thinking only brought back thoughts of home, and frankly, Tally was ready to burst into tears - but she didn't dare. She couldn't show weakness of any form in the arena. She stowed everything from the pack back inside to her liking, including the things that didn't come in the backpack, such as her extra spearheads and the water treatment kit.

There was a very slight rustle of the leaves nearby, and Tal immediately spun around. Nothing was there, but she was still alert and tense. Suddenly, something - as in, Kenn - jumped out of the bushes and spooked Hollie, who threw a knife at him. Tal straightened herself up, smirking at Kenn. "I'll go for the first watch," she said, sliding her bag over her shoulders again and picking up her spear. It was reassuring to have it back in her grasp. Ignoring Hollie's offer for food, Tal strode over to the lake. Carefully, she picked up a small rock that lay by the lake and, with a flick of her wrist, she send the pebble shooting across the lake. Strangely enough, there was a very quiet sizzle every time the pebble made contact, before sinking into the dark depths of the mysterious lake. "Poisoned," she said with certainty. Previously, she had only assumed that something was off about the water, but now she was sure it was poisoned.
