Saffron as a foal, carefree and young, dancing, dancing in the night, the night before the avalanche. The avalanche that killed her father, and ended up causing her mother's death. The last night of freedom, the last night she was carefree. The last night of peace.
This is my entry for this Wild Mountain equid.
The species is not mine, it belongs to horsy1050
The design is by AmigoGirl
So... this is the equid. If I win her, I'm going to call her Saffron. Doing the brindling on her chest took forever... I just couldn't get it right. That part of her is in such an odd position. Suprisingly, the brindling on her back leg took hardly any time... I guess I was used to it by then.
Is it just me, or is the timer being nice? >_> Ohh... yeah... that's right - I accidently deleted half of my work. O.o Yeah, most of my afternoon gone to waste... not exactly my idea of fun.
So... I hope you like it! Please tell me what you think. I tried a different technique. My favourite parts of this drawing are the head and tail, and I am particularly pleased with how the brindling on her back leg turned out. I drew this with a tablet, and only used the pen tool, on the default size and opacity. Well, I used other tools as well, like the eraser for cleaning some things up a bit, but you get the idea.
**EDIT**
Unfortunately, I didn't win the equid. She now belongs to ~*Waffletastic!*~, and her name is Kaiya. You can use this art, Waffle. I wouldn't be able to bear it going to waste.
