Courtney had heard the announcement, and now acknowledged it with a sigh. She started to make the long way back up the beach, her feet crunching on the sand. As she made her way down to the hall, where the others were, she listlessly swung her hands to and fro. Seeing another girl, she smiled lightly and stated in her cool contralto voice, "Nice to meet you. I'm Courtney. You?" A she waited for a reply, she took in her surroundings with barely interested eyes. Where was the food exactly... ? Another sigh came out of her lips as she turned her gaze back on the girl. "This place sucks, don't you think?" she asked calmly. "Being tested on, and this stupid curse..." Her lip curled slightly, and she shut her mouth before something following along the lines of profanity spouted out.

Flinching as soon as a nearby voice brought her train of thoughts, Tessa looked up, slowly relaxing. It was just another girl, one who didn't look like she was going to bully or harm anyone. So, Tessa saw no point in getting too nervous. Listening to the girl, Tessa nodded slowly, making a mental note in her head to remember the girl's name. Courtney. A simple name, Tessa could surely remember that.

"Quintessa, but you can just call me Tessa. Or Tess, I don't really mind or care.." She murmured softly, looking down at her worn down shoes. Converse Hightops to be exact. At Courtney's next comment, Tessa shrugged, looking back up at the girl. "I dont think this place is stupid. I think it's sorta nice, being in a place where it's safer. The risk of accidently burning something is really low here.." She then said, voice still a quiet murmur.

JJ watched as the cooks suddenly began to serve everyone their food, a whole line of them streaming from the kitchen. They carried plates of pancakes, waffles, bacon, and all sorts of delicious breakfast food. He smiled softly as the cooks placed a plate of waffles with bacon and hash browns on the side. He dribbled syrup in each square-cut hole, not letting it spill over the edges.

Courtney shrugged slightly as she moved to get her food. “I suppose,” she muttered, but her tone made it obvious she didn’t agree. “But I’d much rather be out in the real world, instead of here.” She glanced at Quintessa. “I mean, for goodness sakes, we don’t even know what’s going on out there,” she said, sounding almost exasperated. Shaking her head lightly, she was served her food. She lingered near the other girl as she waited for a reply. She didn’t just stand there, but balanced her food in the crook of one arm, and absently chomped on a waffle. Her eyes were also moving, examining everything and seemingly missing nothing.
