"Eh, it's been okay." Kale replied, suddenly happy for the shade from the Pokemon centre. "What about you?" He asked, glancing again at the others who were still talking. He wondered when they would head out and was actually surprised that they had still been here when he had arrived. Kale was sure he would have had catch up with the group because of how late he had been.

Kale also could't wait to see his friend's Pokemon. He knew some of their types because of letters that had been written, but he didn't know all of theirs. Kale was the one who hardly wrote back to letters when he got them. He could actually visualize the pile of letters from quite a few friends that still lay sprawled across his desk which he still had yet to read.

She blinked and grinned once more, "Really? I never really left the town I guess. Pretty busy looking for other types of pokemon around there instead. It is very surprising what happens over time! I can't believe you were that close to me this whole time! It would've been nice to have a visit, we could have talked about everything and painted our nails!" She teased sarcastically and almost tripped over Sablye, causing her to yelp and recall Sablye into his Pokeball.
She laughed nervously and replied, "I should pay more attention, now shouldn't I?" At the same time, she stepped on a medium sized rock, and yelped again. Cursing wildly, she kicked the rock away from her and glared at it, stopping completely to do so. She began to walk again and asked, "So, how was the time you spent with the gym leader and gym? Did you have fun?" It was really curious to see how everyone was doing, after all, she didn't get many letters from some of them, and sometimes no response for a while. She was fine getting the one response, after a while though. She loved writing to them about the stories she had just read or written, it was fun to see their response if she got any. She talked about other things as well, including her pokemon and which she used letters for names. As to not disclose what pokemon she had.
S, was for Sablye. D for Duskull, while Chandelure had an L instead of C. Last was Banette whom had a B. She told them all what type she had chosen, so they all probably knew unless she forgot to send them a letter, or if they didn't read it. Who knew?

Collin Oliver Cross.

Collin laughed at the idea of having his nail's painted, but stopped short when Serenity went into a long series of tripping and stumbling. He stepped back so that she wouldn't hit him if she started flailing her arms to regain balance, but luckily it didn't come to that. When she seemed to be walking normally again, she gave a nervous little giggle and said something about needing to pay more attention. Collin wasn't really listening; he was not amused by the way she was acting all of a sudden. The girl he had known when he was little had been confident, if clumsy, and he couldn't recall her ever apologizing- directly or indirectly- for anything. But now she was almost fluttery, and even more absentminded than she had been as a child. Collin wouldn't have thought it possible, but here she was. Perhaps it was the type she had chosen that was influencing her behavior. And if that was the case, how had working exclusively with normal Pokemon affected Collin? He hadn't noticed anything different about himself, but would his friends say otherwise? It was an interesting conundrum.

However, he would have to think about it later, because Serenity was talking again. "Oh, yes, it's been wonderful. Whitney is very kind to me, and Goldenrod City is a beautiful place." He stopped for a moment to collect his thoughts, then continued. "And I've been able to travel all over the world. In order to give me a bit of experience with battling against different types, Whitney was always sending me on expeditions to other regions. There was always an objective- you know, bring back this Pokemon or that item- but I always had more time than I needed. I did a lot of travelling. I've seen a lot of things." He drifted into silence, lost for a moment in his own mind. Then he realized that Serenity might not know the woman he kept referring to. "Whitney is the gym leader at the Goldenrod City Gym," he elaborated. "She's really tall, with short pink hair that she keeps up in pigtails. I think she's just a bit older than we are."

She listened to him talking about the gym leader and replied, "Hmm, she must be a really good trainer then, to be able to be a gym leader at an age a bit older then us. I wonder if any of us will get there at that time. Then again, I'm not very sure that I'd even want to be a gym leader." She pondered this a moment before replying, "Second doubts I guess. It seems too responsible for me." She laughed and continued to walk forward, ignoring the sullen feeling she had dropped on herself. She should stay happy, after all, it had been a while since she had seen them. Still just as serious, she asked, "Well, even though I'm indecisive, what would you like to do in life? Are you still set to be a gym leader?" She smiled at the end of her sentence and continued walking down the small path.

Collin Oliver Cross.

"I don't think so," replied Collin. "Becoming a gym leader was never really my plan, after all." He shrugged, then elaborated. "What I mean is, I joined the Goldenrod City Gym because the hours and pay were good. And then I got to explore. I got to travel all over the world, meeting new Pokemon and seeing things I never could have dreamed of. Being a gym leader would tie me down, you know?" He shook his head. "That's not the life for me." Then he stopped talking for a while, and just walked. His stride was long and easy, perhaps even graceful. That surprised him, now that he thought about it. What had happened to daddy-long-legs Collin, to clumsy Collin, to noodle-arms Collin? He used to be the comic relief character in the group, always tripping and falling. Always being laughed at. "And," he added, "I could never take over from Whitney. She's too good. She goes easy on new Pokemon trainers, but I've seen her battle full-out and it's really scary." He stopped, thinking of something else, and laughed. "Also, all of the trainers at the Goldenrod City Gym are girls."

She laughed at the comment about girls then asked, "What's wrong with it being girls? Do you have a problem with girls?" She smirked teasingly and shrugged, "I can see what you mean. But, if you don't want to be a gym leader or anything, what do you want to be? If you don't mind me being curious and asking." She didn't want to step on any toes. After all, that would be pretty rude.

Had she changed that much? She could notice several changes in Collin, then when he was little. Such as him not being as clumsy as he was back then. But, she had become clumsier then when she was little, hadn't she. Being with Sablye and Banette the most might have had something to do with it, as she had messed with them a lot, being involved in their schemes. Remarkable how much a pokemon could influence the behavior of their trainers. She hadn't noticed it till now.

Snapping out of her thoughts, she looked around for Sablye. Remembering that she had put him back in his pokeball, she picked one of them off of her belt. She knew it was either Banette or Sablye in it, since she could practically feel the excited energy pulsing out of the pokeball. It was probably Banette. She moved the pokeball around in her hand, not letting Banette out. She wondered what was inside of a pokeball, what Banette does inside of there. If there was actually anything in there. She wondered what had caused Banette to actually come with her. Or any of her pokemon for that matter.

Collin Oliver Cross.

"Nothing, I guess," replied Collin with a laugh and a slight shrug. He wasn't about to tell Serenity that girls- and girlfriends, as she seemed to be implying- weren't exactly his... thing. She had always been bad with secrets, and people didn't change that much. When she asked what he wanted to be, he almost laughed again. When he was little we would have said Pokemon master, but now that he was grown, what did he want? That was always a question put to children, not adults. What do you want to be when you grow up? But now that he was grown up, had the answer changed? He no longer had any desire to go up against the Pokemon league, that was for sure. He had seen son many kids come back through Goldenrod City with broken hearts and broken dreams, and that wasn't what he wanted for himself.

His sister was training to be a Pokemon Ranger, and that seemed pretty cool, but he didn't want to intrude on her glory by doing the same thing. Besides, Rangers had to deal constantly with people, and that wasn't Collin's forte. After a few quiet minutes of deliberation, he finally answered Serenity's question. "I guess I just want to travel," he said. "After my first expedition, I was hooked. I want to travel the roads less taken, explore the darkest caves and deepest oceans. I want to see things nobody has ever seen before."

"I'm just messin' with you." She said and smiled. Putting the pokeball back onto her belt, she replied, "Well, I can see that for you! You'd be able to explore more then a Gym Leader would, after all." She grinned and asked confused, "Wait, where are we going? Are we even supposed to leave yet?" Jumping from that topic once more, she spoke out excitedly, "I wonder what kind of pokemon we might be able to see! I remember when this little Litwick would wander around and chase things around! It was so cute!" She said and clapped her hands together. "Maybe, you'll be able to find some pokemon you'd like as well, Collin! Wouldn't that be nice?" She said and thought for a moment about something. After all, all of the pokemon she had caught were found at night. She only wanted Ghost types, but where would she find them here? She's probably have to wander all night.
She asked Collin calmly, "So, have you kept in contact with the others lately?"

Sunny

Sunny just hung at the back of the group, taking in all of her friends, back together on their homeland. The sounds of their chattering and the pitter-patter of their Pokemon's feet filled the air with a happy vibe. Sunny could do naught but grin like a mad man as she was filled with contentment. Slinging an arm around Cassie's shoulder, Sunny yanked her after her strode off, a finger poitning down the path they were taking.

"Let's go!" She cried ecstatically

She only made it three steps with Cassie in tow before there was a surge of red light. With a loud 'oof!' she found herself thrown over the shoulder of an already sprinting Golurk who had taken her command to heart. She simply laughed as she watched her friends get left in the dust. Pulling down her lower eyelid with one finger, she stuck her tongue out to mock the slowpokes.

Cassie let out a rumble of laughter as Sunny slung an arm around her and started to drag her forward. then she noticed as one of Sunny's pokemon picked her up and started to carry her away. Getting caught up in the action Cassie released Empoleon and with a small shriek jumped on the large penguins back and he quickly took a running start w=before sliding on the morning dew grass down the hill towards Sunny. Cassie laughed harder now as she saw the rest of her friends pokemon becoming just as excited as Sunny's and her her selves. It was then that Cassie decided once they stopped, a pokemon battle was definitely in order.

Cassie let the thrill of the glide take her away into the wind. Sometimes she wished that she trained flying types, but once she remembered just how much she loved the water the thought was immediately thrown out. Besides if she was a flying type she would never have Empoleon, or Lapras, or her other two. And that would be like taking away 3/4 of herself. Cassie let out a bemused smile as the wind flew through her hair and Empoleon let out small clicks of happiness. This, this is what she lived for. Just another day with all of her best friends, setting out a new adventure. Nothing could make this day any better.
