It was sitting there, with its long tail coiled around itself. The creature lunged forward to attack but the man jumped aside and happened to cut of its tail. The creature squealed in pain and darted off into the woods.
Later that night, the man cooked up the large, leafy tail and him and his dogs ate it. Then, with their bellies full of creature tail, they all went to bed.
The man woke up to a scratching on the door and a weird voice calling out "tailypoo. Give me back my tailypoo..." then man's stomach felt strange and he sent his three dogs after the creature outside. There was a great fuss and only two dogs came back. They ran inside simpering and hid under the bed.
The next night, the man heard the voice again "Give me back the rest of my tailypoo... give it back...". The creature started to burrow through the walls of the mans cabin. It glared at them. The man sent his two remaining dogs after it and they chased it through the hole in the wall. The sou.d of a fight came from outside and one dog came limping in. It whimpered and hid under the bed. The man patched up the hole in the wall and went back to sleep.
The night after that, the creature was back. "Give me the rest of my tailypoo!" It roared and clawed at the walls. The door burst open and the creature stalked in. The man tried to send his dog out, but the dog remained hidden under the bed. The creature came closer. "Where is it!?'' The animal roared. "I-I ate it..." the man replied. "Well then, I will have it back!" The creature lunged forward and neither him and his dog were heard from again.
But, they say that if you're very quiet and listen carefully while in a remote area of the woods, you can hear a weird voicein the winds saying "I got it back. My tailypoo is back...""
(This story is almost the same as those big hairy toe ones. But I read this in a book last year and I thought I'd post it. Credit to original author.)
I've heard one like that before, but a little different. Plus, I listened to it in a recording. I'll tell it!:
There was once an old man and his 3 dogs. He ate fruits and vegetables, because he could never find any meat; And if he did, they would run away before he could catch and kill them to eat. He lived in the woods, far into it.
One day, while walking his dogs, he saw a large shadow. A long, fluffy tail was stretched out of the shadows. The shadow growled, and glaring yellow eyes turned to him. Taking out his knife, the man chopped off the creatures tail and ran back home before it could catch him.
That day, he cooked the tail. His dogs whimpered and whined, quivering, watching him cook it. His dogs rarely got any good food, and so after cooking it, he cut tiny pieces and fed those pieces to his dogs, eating the rest by himself. That night, when bed, his dogs whimpered and hid under his bed.
Then he heard growls and scratching at his door. Ignoring the sounds, he let his dogs go out and fight whomever or whatever was out there. He heard whimpers and yelps, but he knew his dogs would make it. They were tough.
The next morning, he woke up. He heard the whimpers and whines of his dogs under his bed, and the door was shut. Two dogs slowly crawled out from under his bed as he stepped onto the floor. He didn't hear or see his only female. Yawning, he walked his dogs- And looked for his other one.
He heard the same growls and angry barks. Looking around, he saw nothing. When he got back in his backyard, he shut the gate door. Suddenly, his dogs growled and attacked the fence. He saw the same shadow outside, with just a nub for a tail. It ripped open one of his dog's neck, and the other dog yelped in fear. It scratched the beast's face, and the beast ran off.
He let his last dog stay outside; just in-case. Then he went to bed.
---
The dog froze, and jumped over the fence, barking loudly. He didn't hear his master's snoring, and he had seen the shadowy beast come over the fence; But did nothing because he feared being killed.
The scent of blood and death was heavy in the air, and he heard his master scream only a few minutes ago. He ran for the police, not stopping to look back.
The next day, the dog led the police back to his home.
---
The police went inside. They didn't find the old man; However, they did find his bones piled up, with blood everyone. They even found his skin, ripped to shreds, on top of the pile. There was a massive hole in the wall, almost crushing the whole wall. They had no clue what kind of thing could make such damage, or be so vicious. But the dog knew.
That shadow beast wanted his tail. And now he has it.
