UR means Ultra Rare, or "OMG so rare!" which is what some pets rarities are. Quantity over Quality is used in auctions when people want a large number of pets instead of a small amount of R/VR/UR. Dates affect the pets because chickensmoothie started in 2008 and the community wasn't very big, so a little amount of 2008, 2009, etc. pets were adopted, so there for are more rare than mere 2011's and 2012's. However, if it's the same pet, say a 2008 Advent and 2011 Advent, they are the same to most people. Some people believe dates matter to the same pet, that's up to you.

Example:
I swapped my Dark face September from 2010 with a Dark face September from 2008.

Welcome to CS! You're new adopter is Hoothead. I've notified them and you should hear from them soon. You can PM you're adopter (guide) any questions you have. They'll let you know about the basics of CS such as rarities, forums, etc. As for who to trade with, you can set up a post in the "CS Trades & Items." or even click on ther posts to find trading partners.
