Anna looked up at Suri when he addressed her. "The tornado has blown itself out, but it's not safe to go outside until morning, because it's still hailing and lightning has been coming dangerously close to starting a forest fire. Tomorrow, it's going to be very soggy, but we'll be flying, so that doesn't really matter. I can't foresee any more bad weather coming our way in the next few days, but we'll have to wait to be sure." Anna stretched her wings and arched her back, trying to work the kinks out of her aching muscles.

Ezra looked out to the mouth of the cave, before lowering her head back to her paws, closing her green eyes gently. Her ears were still alert for any unusual sounds, and she had the closest thing to sleep she had ever had in months. Her tail flicked back and forth slightly as she hovered between the dream world and the waking world, asleep yet awake.

~Lunaris~

At the sound of a forest fire, Lunaris smiled quietly to herself. She knew that others may not like it, but she would immensely enjoy it. She turned her head to look outside the cave at the rain that continued to batter the ground. With a sigh, she laid down and wrapped her wings around herself. Were there others out there? Was she the last of her kind?

[I've decided to do something interesting to spice up my posts. ]

Anna flew near the ceiling of the cave, re-energizing herself. The thunder provided a backdrop for the constant zooming around she did while flying. When she had exercised enough, she swooped low over the other dragons and landed near her packs. She took out the tiny inkwell and one of the small scrolls she carried with her, turning a beautiful rosy pink as she did so. She stuck a claw in her inkwell to gather ink on it and began to write of her experiences. She always detailed her adventures. She wrote:

This has been quite a first day on my journey to the Archmage's castle. I had at first thought no other dragons existed, but now I have four in my company. A greater dragon named Suri accidentally knocked me out of the air because he was flying too low. He is quite strange, with dark eyes that have different colors in them and metallic purple scales. We talked for awhile and then decided to travel together. Soon, we had to flee Devin, and while we did that, we met a rather reserved and somewhat antisocial spiked dragon named Ezra. Whoever heard of an antisocial spiked dragon? I guess life throws many odd things at you on occasions. Nevertheless, she more or less agreed to accompany us to the Archmage's castle, seeing as she had been on her way there as well and saw the strength in numbers.

Then we had to flee a tornado, which nearly knocked the larger dragons out of the sky and sent a piece of hail flying down to break my wing. I had to stay on Ezra's back until we reached the cave. On the way there, we met a fire dragon named Lunaris, who, strangely, is white. Funny, because I've never seen a white fire dragon. That color is very rare. Nevertheless, she is here in the cave with us now, and I assume she will be traveling with us as well. After we reached the cave, Ezra flew out to rescue a downed sea dragon, who was badly beaten against the sea cliffs. I healed her, of course, and she is now speaking with Ezra. At the moment, the tornado has blown itself out and we are going to wait until morning to resume the journey, seeing as it is still unsafe outside. Until I write again, I shall most likely be occupied with my travels. I hope to reach the Archmage's dwelling soon, otherwise I may go insane from the strange happenings of late.

Anna finished writing and cleaned her talons. She put away her inkwell and scroll, and then flew to roost on a tiny shelf of rock above her.

He nodded thankfully at the good weather. "Will we all be able to fly?" He asked her, checking that she and the sea dragon would be okay. The sea dragon hadn't looked too good the last time he'd seen her, but Erza was watching her, so she should be okay. His eyes widenend slightly as she wrote, it was quite amazing that she could do that.

His mind wandered as he waited for the answers for his questions. He was daydreaming of the last day he'd spent with his parents. The warm, bright summers day as he swooped on the deer...The crunch of the maple roots they'd chewed.....soaring in the mountains.....the happy memory turned bitter as he thought of Delvin's spears and arrows, his group's cheers as his parents had fallen.....the arrow that pierced his wing, a memory that his revenge would be had. He snapped himself back to the cave, shaking himself slightly and looking over to the scar.

Anna looked up at Suri and nodded when she had finished putting her things away. Her scales turned blue as her thoughts drifted back to the weather. "We will be able to fly, as long as we don't run into slayers or any other inclement weather. We should reach the volcanic region to the north in a matter of days, if the weather remains fair," Anna replied. Her scale color changed to that of a geographical dragon's as she remembered a map of Camelot and the surrounding countryside she once saw. She remembered an ocean to the east, volcanoes in the north, and several cities clustered in various valleys in the mountain chain to the southwest. The royal city was in a giant meadowland that spread out for miles to the north of the mountains, a trade road lined with farms and small but prosperous villages. The Archmage's castle was even farther north, and many leagues to the east, near the edge of King Arthur's domain. It lay in a beautiful expanse of perfectly blended meadows, mountains, and the sea was only half a day's travel to the east. This place would be a perfect home for all dragon species. She had seen on another map of the Archmage's castle that there were abandoned dwarf mines to the west, and she planned to explore them. Of course, the Archmage was still many days' travel ahead and many leagues' distance away. She would just have to wait.
