Quinn sat under a peach tree that spread its high branches over the sunny courtyard. She twirled a pen that she held as she tried to stabilize the drawing pad on her lap. She stared at a ripe peach that she held in her palm. Her long hair flowed in the wind. Her mind raced. Unaware of her surroundings, she exclaimed aloud, "Aha!" and began to scribble down her interpretation of the core of the fruit she held. In her excitement, she sent the peach soaring into the wind and it hit the marble floor of the city walk. With a smile, she held up her pad and shouted, "It is magnifico!" She was too excited of her finished work to notice the crowd she had attracted. Finally caught up in her studies of botany, she stood, stretched, and yawned. She grabbed her extra pens and book bag and strolled to her "humble abode" as she called it. The sun was high but already she felt weary.

Xero hesitated to say soemthing. It was a pretty awkward conversation at the moment. "Well..guess Ill be the first to introduce my self. My name is Alex Xeroi, but you can call me Xero. Whichever you prefer. My bestfriend is this cat. Her name is Twinkle, and my favorite thing to do is jump off of buildings." He talked fast and smiled, pushing Twinkle into Chiyo's face.

Skye

He was a bit confused. Everyone here just got strait to the point. There was no waiting, there was no thinking. There was only doing with this boy. Alex Xeroi… An interesting boy, but not Skye's idea of good company to tell the truth. Not that he would say anything about it. "Skye." He replied simply before turning his attention towards the girl again. He was worried about her, the way that she completely avoided their eyes. She seemed shy, but that was just too extreme for someone who grew up in the company of the scientists… He, for one, was ecstatic when meeting new people. Maybe not literally, but he was rather sociable when he got the chance. He wasn't one to yell, but he did find contentment in just being around others. It was a nice change of pace. He wasn't sure if the girl would introduce herself, cocking his guitar further up his shoulder the second it felt as if it were going to slip, his hood over his head to make his white hair look grey and to shade himself from the sun.

There was a short, awkward silence before the young mutant spoke. "I'm Chiyo. It's... it's really nice to meet you." She shifted her weight, fingering the handkerchief she was still holding. She had no idea if Skye would want it back, and didn't know how to ask if he did. When she saw the cat, her eyes lit up, and she let out a weird squeak that sounded like a mew. "Oh, she's so sweet!" She said, and gently scratched the cat under her chin.

His face lit up. "Glad you like her! Nice to meet you to. How long have you been here?" The silence was really awkward. He wondered why everyone was so quiet. Why not brighten up and talk? Why so shy? It was a bit of a downer for him, but he thought they would warm up to his excessive talking.

Skye

Skye really wasn't one for deep conversation… He preferred that there weren't so many of them, his head starting to hurt a bit. At least Chiyo's brightening up lifted some of that pain, looking down at her as she pet the cat. He supposed that it wouldn't be a problem to leave the two of them alone. Of course, he had given Chiyo his handkerchief, but he could always embroider another. It wasn't that hard once he was got the hang of it. He was tempted to simply back off and let them get to their conversation, having a common interest of cats and all. Skye was one for animals, but… he wouldn't get that excited over something like a small cat.

"I suppose I will leave you to your business." He said lightheartedly, his left hand tucked away into his pocket as he took a step back. He really wasn't interested in the crowd, nodding quietly to the both of them as his farewell before heading off into the forest towards town. Maybe he could get a little peace there.

Chiyo blinked. "I got her a couple days ago." She said simply. This time, she didn't whisper or murmur, and her voice sounded just like a cats meow.
When Skye said he he was leaving, Chiyo nodded and gave a small wave, even though he already turned away. "Have a great week." She said softly, not sure if he heard her. She looked back to Twinkle and mewed softly. Twinkle blinked and meowed back, and Chiyo smiled.
