Ellis wheeled her chair into the lounge, sitting back and picking up her newest book. She glanced up, smiling at Gavin as he walked in the door. The woman sat the book in her lap. "Good morning, Gavin." "Hi, Mrs. Willowby," he answered with a small smile. "What d' you need me to do now?" Ellis stifled a chuckle at the boy's uncertainty. "Go ahead and mix up the dogs breakfast. They'll be hungry. Justice and Athena need the weight gaining formula." Gavin nodded and headed into the second kitchen, which was next to the kennels. He opened the binder full of recipes and grabbed one of the huge bowls under the counter. Mrs. Willowby was a strong believer in raw feeding, and even in the short time he'd been here, he could see why. Not only did the dogs who needed to gain weight do just that, their coats got shiner, their toenails clacked louder against the floors of their runs, and their temperaments were even more friendly. And they wouldn't get bored, either; Mrs. Willowby got a different type of meat every week so they wouldn't loose interest. This week, was salmon. It was slightly unfortunate, because Gav would smell fishy for the rest of the day.

Mrs. Willowby pulled out her cell phone and paged the new trainer. Although she should be here soon, there was a pregnant mare she was worried they were going to have to tranquilize in order to get her checked out. The poor thing was terrified, and she desperately needed her hooves trimmed. There also seemed to be a few cuts on her body, but stitches would probably be ripped out. She sighed, rubbing her forehead. They desperately needed another vet. Ellis was good, but it was very hard for her to take care of big animals such as horses when she was in a wheelchair. After a moments concentration, she paged the new vets assistant as well. She'd be needed.

Cole was found swimming at sea. He had gone after a water buffalo that had started to swim, but halfway to both sides, the buffalo sank. He continued to swim, and ended up here. Then he was found by a human and brung here.

Maybe Cole could start by being drug into the cage? Drug because he doesnt want to go in.

Lotus smiled and looked around at the animals that they had for now, only one horse. She then grabbed her pager out of her pokect, hearing it going off. Reading the message, she grabbed her bag walking into the mansion. She smiled seeing it was just Mrs. Willowby who had sent the page, but that also meant something was wrong with a horse. "Is everything okay?" she asked walking to her, guessing what it was about. They had just got a mare in, who was not in the best of shape and did not seem to like humans. She had not gotten to work with the mare yet, and was unsure how she was going to start with her.

Rain snorted and walked back, in the stall she was in wanting to be out. She then stopped remembering the last time she went out of a stall and what had happen. Turning she walked to the back of the stall, leaning on the wall to take off some of the weight of the foal in her. She was still vary unsure about having the foal, most of her body weight was the foal not her. You could easily see most of her bones, even some of her rib bones on her barrel where the foal was. She sighed and lifted her ears, making sure no living this was there before closing her eyes wanting to sleep.

Dixie paced in her kennel. She wasn't used to being in a kennel because ms Willowby let her roam around, but now that more dogs were coming she had to be kept in one. She didn't like it one bit. She wanted her bed that was in the house, not this stupid concrete floor. She snorted, waiting for Gavin to bring her breakfast, and hooefully let her out. The rottie panted and continued pacing, despite the confused stares she was getting from the other dogs.

Brief History & Personality: Phil is a quite and thoughtful soul most of the time, though he will speak his mind if need be. He ran away from home when he was just 13 to escape an abusive and drunken father who beat him and his mother on a daily basis. He doesn't know nor does he care what happened to his family. He can't not abide by abuse in any way shape or form, but due to his formerly homeless status it was hard for him to find a job working with humans, so he turned to his love of animals and found Willowby Lane.

"Well, no emergencies-- yet. But that mare is a disaster waiting to happen. You know how I feel about tranquilizers, but I think that's our only option as of now. She's not in good shape. She needs those hooves trimmed, I need to check and make sure the foals okay... And those cuts, I have no clue how to deal with those." The older woman sighed. "And I really wish Amelia would get here. I need her help with whatever we do." She sighed again. "What we really need is another vet." She leaned back, rubbing her temples. "I should have just held back on the horses until we got a vet..." She shook her head. "Anyways. Ignore my moaning. Do you have any objections to knocking her out? I know it's harsh, but... It's our only option, I think."

Gavin set the bowls in the cages softly, trying not to disturb the two newer dogs. He smiled at Dixie's grouchy attitude and set her food down before unlatching the door to the grassy field and picking up her favorite toy, a tug rope. "Wanna play, girl?" He asked in his excited voice, reserved for animals only.

Lotus sighed and listened to what she was saying. "I think it would be the best thing for her. I have not really worked with her yet and we don't even know her full background yet or what she went through. Sure it is easy to see she is under weight and having a foal, but you are right she dose not like humans." she said and thought for a time thinking of what to say next. "It would be the best thing, and it will cause the least amount of stress on her if we put her to sleep while checking her out." she said, hoping the mare could handle it.

Ellis nodded and sighed. "Well. I'd like to wait for Amelia to get here. I'll need her help with the hooves... I think I'm just going to have to let those cuts heal on their own. She'll just rip the stitches out. Do you have anything you'd like to check while we've got her out?"
