He laid a while longer, staring up at the sky before he heard the sound of someone lapping up water. Skye sat himself up, surveying his surroundings for whoever was making that sound. As much as he didn't like this place, he couldn't really complain about the people. There was a girl drinking from the lake, his eyes trained on her for a moment before he decided that trying to interact with someone couldn't be too bad. She didn't seem aggressive, but after reading all of those books, he always found himself being a little cautious about other… mutants. They were usually spliced with some sort of animal. He pulled himself to his feet and grabbed his guitar case before walking up to the girl on light feet. With his guitar case over his shoulder, he peered around the girl for a moment before attempting to speak.

"… Good morning, Miss…" He said a bit awkwardly, the lack of interaction with any other creature made him like this. When trying to talk to others without a purpose, he wasn't ever sure what it was that he could say. This really was the first person he even tried to talk to in the city, his cold grey eyes locked on her face as more of a courtesy than anything. It would be rude just to stare down at his feet while trying to talk to someone. Unacceptable, really. He had to remember the basic rules of modern etiquette, in which he read many years ago when he lived in the labs.

Chiyo started when someone greeted her, making her splash herself. She didn't even glance at her wet fur, but looked up from where she was sitting. "I... uh... h-hello..." She stuttered, and slowly stood up, brushing the dirt from her fur. She could feel the persons gaze on her face, but she found it hard to even look up from the ground. Her tail instinctively curled between her legs, and she silently thought curses to it.

Alex saw the beautiful lake and the two mutants beside it. He has always wanted to visit it, so why not now? He lept from the balcony on to each building, slowly making his way there, Twinkle in hand. He was just on the edge of a building when he jumped down and ran towards the lake. One of the two mutants was covered in fur, which was a rare sight here. He walked up to them. "Hellooo there." He noticed that the furry one looked nervous. "Er..you okay?" He asked curiously.

Instantly, the girl got a face full of water, his eyes widening slightly, but changing back into the emotionless stoney state that they were usually in. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a handkerchief, holding it out to her. The fabric provided by ECO Tech, but the artistic white winding S hand embroidered by him after weeks of trying tirelessly to get it right. "My apologies… I didn't mean to startle you." He said, looking down at the girl. She seemed rather young. She couldn't have been let out so soon… But then again, ECO Tech operated in strange ways. Sending a child into the city to live alone. Of course, this town was made up of mutants brought up in the seclusion of the labs until their release, so there probably weren't too many rowdy citizens. Hopefully.

Seeing the fear in the girl's eyes made his own sadden slightly behind their hardened shell. She looked so defenceless and weak that it made his heart squeeze in sympathy. He wasn't use to interacting with anyone other than a few scientists. Someone who would direct him.

Alex turned to Skye. "Um..Im still unclear as to what happened." Then he looked down at the small cat-like girl. She looked young. "How old are you? Are you even old enough to be out here?"

Chiyo accepted the handkerchief with a super quiet thank you, and did her best to dry off her fur. When anotherone came up, she didn't even look at him. More people. She thought. When the boy asked about her age, she seemed to shrink a little. "I'm fourteen..." She whispered. Curse my shyness. Buck up or something. But, of course, she didn't buck up. People scared her, even scientists. She wasn't really a social butterfly.

The new voice came as a surprise. Skye was usually so alert, and when this new character came out of what seemed like nowhere, he was a little concerned, his eyes shifting over towards the boy before he looked back down at the girl. She seemed so timid and shy… Maybe more people would only serve as an incentive to drive her away. It wasn't the most inviting thought, but he wasn't going to stop her should she choose to run. What authority did he have to do that? To tell the truth, he was rather keen on taking off as well… Crowds really weren't his thing, and coming to this nearly secluded lake made him feel a little better after walking through the crowded city. He did live in the more quite part of town, but that wasn't enough to keep him completely calm in the face of crowds like these. Not that his face would show his nervousness.

Looking back down at the girl, he was surprised that she answered the question in the first place. She seemed nice enough, despite how quiet and reserved she was, but then again, who was he to talk. "You are quite young to be living in the city. Have you been getting along well where you currently reside?" He asked, the speech he used coming naturally to him as he watched her with critical eyes. Something seemed wrong. And it couldn't have just been her… shyness.

She shifted her weight and hesitated before speaking, eyes still on the ground. "I... I like it here. It's quiet." She murmured. There were two reasons why she was speaking so quietly; 1, she's super shy, and 2, when she talks louder, her voice sounds like a cats meow. She hated that feature about herself, and always remained quiet.

Xero hesitated to say soemthing. It was a pretty awkward conversation at the moment. "Well..guess Ill be the first to introduce my self. My name is Alex Xeroi, but you can call me Xero. Whichever you prefer. My bestfriend is this cat. Her name is Twinkle, and my favorite thing to do is jump off of buildings." He talked fast and smiled, pushing Twinkle into Chiyo's face.
