"Please, don't leave me."

My tear-filled eyes stared down at Celeste's serene ones. There were tears slipping down her beautiful face as well, though she wept silently while I was struggling to choke back sobs.

"Oh, my darling," she murmured softly, "Don't you know I'll never leave you?" From where she was lying in her hospital bed, she reached up to caress my face and I caught her hand, holding it to my cheek. My tears fell onto her fingers and I kissed them away.

"I..." I swallowed another lump of un-shed tears, forcing it down my throat, "I don't know what I'm going to do without you."

Celeste's smile disappeared as she closed her eyes. When she opened them again and spoke, it was a whisper. "You're going to be just fine without me," her words were raw with emotion, "I love you so much, Hunter. Don't ever forget me."

I almost choked. "Never." I promised, squeezing my eyes shut as I cried.

"Promise me..." her voice trailed off as her eyes shut again. This time, they would never open.

"Celeste. Celeste! No, please don't leave me! Oh, Celeste, please don't go. I love you. I love you!" I sobbed and fell to the floor as
doctors who had heard my screaming came rushing into the room. I wailed as they began to shut off the machines which had kept her breathing for so long, but had failed to save her life in the end. Just before they pulled the sheet over her still body, I stood and gently kissed her cold lips, whispering my final words to her against them.

"I promise."

You're here in my heart

"And it was just so funny!" Samm said, laughing hysterically. Gosh, your laugh is contagious... I thought, watching Samm's every move. "I love your laugh!" I said, instead. Samm blushed "Thanks!" She laughed, "You're a really good friend, I'm glad you're in my life." I looked away, Samm... You're killing me... I thought. "You don't realize how happy I am that we are friends, Samm. You're the only thing that makes sense in my crazy life!" Samm laughed, "Don't I know it!" She got up from my bed, where we were laying, attempting to stay on topic: Playing Truth Or Dare. Samm fished out a piece of paper, and walked back to my bed. "This is my husband. Well, in my mind he is." She said, thrusting the picture in my hands. I looked down at it and saw a guy I could never compete with. "He's gorgeous! Congratulations!" I joke, knowing that's what she expected me to do. "I know, right?" She said, her face flushing pink. "He's so perfect! I bet he'd be a good boyfriend." That's it. I can't handle this anymore... I thought. "Samm, I need to go to the bathroom. I'll be back in a little while, those burritos did something funky to my system!" I said, making the first excuse I could to get out of this torture. "Eww! TMTH!" Samm said, laughing. "Okay, girlie, take your time!" I nodded, and walked towards the bathroom farthest away from my bedroom. When I got there, I leaned against the wall and slowly sank down until I had my head rested on my knees. Why does this always happen to me? I thought, as I felt hot, stinging tears in my eyes. I know I would be a better girlfriend to her then any boy would. I would treat her like she was as rare as a blue diamond. I looked in the mirror across from me, and started sobbing. I don't deserve her, why do I even try? She's so flawless, and gorgeous, and... Not mine. The more I thought about this, the more violent the sobs racked through me. She dreams of boys that wouldn't even second glace her, and yet she doesn't realize that Mrs. Right has always been by her side. She doesn't know that every time I see her with another person, I imagine I'm in their place. I love her, more then I've ever loved anyone. I wish she'd reali- A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. "Tonna..? Are you okay, you've been in here for a while. I'm worried." It was Samm. "You...You're worried about me?" I asked, stalling so I could try and conceal the streaks down my face. "Are you serious, Tonna? You're my best friend, the best I've ever had! Of course I'm worried about you." I unlocked the door and Samm burst in. She took one look at me, then her face got serious. "Why were you crying, missy!" She asked, looking at me with those huge, gorgeous blue eyes. "I-I...Uhm.." I didn't know where to start. Do I tell her the truth..? I looked at the ground, then back at her. "I'm just lonely, I wish I had a boyfriend..." I lied, but I'm pretty sure Samm couldn't tell. "Awhh! Tonna, I'm so sorry. You could have told me, you know! I would have been there for you." You aren't here for me know, you can't even tell I'm lying! I've been lying for quite a while now, it's about time you noticed! I thought bitterly, "I will next time, Samm. Thanks for putting up with me, and for being such a good friend." I said, hugging her and cherishing every moment of it.

I'm going to write out a quick story for this in a minute, but first I'd like to tell you how I got the idea:
I was checking my groups after a break from CS, and I noticed that the first dog had grown up. At first, I disliked the design - it was okay, but it was certainly my least favorite of the litter. But then I looked closer, and I noticed why he's the odd one out: his eyes look sad and scared. His big brother and sister's eyes look welcoming and confident, as if they were treated much better than him in life... I immediately decided that this sad-eyed dog needed a story, and the dog that was sitting directly below him in his group was the perfect match for him. And that is how this pair was born. <3

robin tightly squeezed his hand, blushing a bright pink. he gave her a winking smile and she could feel the burning passion inside her. she breathed heavily, afraid of rejection, and jerked backwards- releasing herself from his grip that she caused.

"what's wrong?"
he asked, face flushed with concern and worry.

"nothing, james, everything is perfect."
she said with a sigh under her breath, and her hand took it's rightful place back in his.

they lay in the sunny meadow for a while now, staring up into the sky and pointing out cloud shapes.
"look," he said, pointing above their heads. "it's a butterfly."
she squinted, not exactly seeing what he was getting at. "a butterfly? it looks more like a lamp." they shared a joyous laugh and through breathless chuckles james managed to say,
"well, i thought of you when i saw it. sure, it does look like a lamp," she blushed again in embarrassment, but he continued. "but i thought of it as a butterfly because of how pretty you are."
she flashed a teethed smile and whispered, "but it looks like a lamp." they shared another moment to snicker.

"well, then it's the prettiest lamp i've ever seen."
a lone blossom tree hung above them suddenly, like it had sprouted out of nowhere. this didn't frighten them; it gave them a chance to stare at the beautiful blossoms, gleaming brightly above them. they took this shaded moment to stare at each other with loving eyes.

she stared deeply into his eyes, dead serious.
"do you love me?" she asked, eyes gleaming with curiousness.
"before i answer that," he gave her a smile, but her ears frowned in disappointment. "could i ask you something?"
robin nodded, face flushed with worry. he stood up and took her hand, helping her to her feet.
he knelt down on one knee and said, voice angelic,

"robin," she cupped her hands and pushed them over her mouth, wanting to scream with joy; no, it'd ruin the moment. her eyes immediately filled to the brim with tears, and she didn't do anything but let them stream down her face. james had pulled a box out, seemingly from behind his back, with a beautiful, diamond-studded ring inside. but she wasn't focused on that; she was focused on love. "will you marry me?" he had finished with bright eyes.

she nodded, unable to speak, and choked down a few tears.
she closed the box and he began to look at her with complete worry. he was also unable to speak at the moment.
robin pulled him into a hug. "yes," she said in a tone that was nearly ruined with the sobbing. "of course."
she had closed the box, james now knew, to show him that she truly loved him. she knew the ring was expensive, very expensive, and she wanted him to know that she didn't care for his money.

a few months later, they got married, and almost lived happily ever after-
until robin slipped into a coma.

james never left her side, and he was awaiting that one day that he could see her beautiful, bright eyes again.
he caressed her white face, and witnessed her closed eyes. the heart monitor was silent, with james' praying. she was still alive.

"robin," he said with a hoarse voice, reading to crack. "if you can somehow hear me, please... i can't live without you. live, please, robin. don't leave me." her eyes fluttered open for a very brief moment, but closed again with a groan. she occasionally did that, but james knew the coma was no where near over.
he had not known this, though. james was unknown of the fatal coma she was in, and was so caught up in caring for his wife, he hadn't even realized she was in a coma. he completely unidentified it.

a doctor stepped into the room and gave him a sad, sad frown.
"james, can you come out for a moment?" james nodded and got up, legs cracking as he stood. he followed the doctor into the corridor. "i'm afraid that robin is deeply comatose. it's very fatal, and she most likely won't live for another hour, her life is estimated to only last for another half hour."
he was breathless, unable to speak. tears streamed down his face. "take your time, spend with her what you can, even though she is not able to communicate." james nodded, feeling like he was just stabbed in the chest.
he stepped into the room, his face white with fear of losing his dear.

26 minutes had passed, and he knew it was her time to go; he had to leave too, before anything got worse.
between hard sobs, he wiped tears away but couldn't help them from returning.
he stepped up to the hospital bed robin was lying in and caressed her face once more.

he leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.
"no matter what, you'll always be with me," he said, tone cracking at the seams.

"i love you, robin. i always have, and i always will."

he scoffed and rolled his eyes.

she jerked backwards and spun around,
her face glossy with tears.

"a little white lie?"
she laughed.
"it was anything but a little white lie."

he planted his feet on the ground,
unable to move.

"and no matter what,"
she gave him a stern look with painful eyes.
"you've lost me and my everything."

he felt like he was just stabbed in the chest.
not for what she said,
but for what he realized he'd done.

"just send my things back,"
she shook her head abruptly.
"i don't ever want to see you again."

no matter what,
no lie is ever white
