"Not really. I'm, unfortunately, a new student. Thus, it was suggested that a mingle with people in an attempt to make 'friends'," Jane said bluntly, throwing in an eye roll. Okay, yes, that was a lie, to some extent. The scenario was sort of true, but she was talking to him because she had to make his life easy. Twas a hard thing to do when she didn't even know him. So, away she would go, talking to him and trying to seem friendly and truly happy to be here. And so goes the game of high school.

"The name's Jane," she said, sticking out her right hand, her fingers neatly manicured with black nail polish. Yes, she was taking this whole "goth rocker chick" thing as far as she could. She liked to fight the whole stereotype of angels running around in white. Her eyes met his, as social etiquette called for, and they were blue too. Interesting. She smiled a lopsided smile, one side of her mouth rising higher than the other. It gave her an unintentional smirk, which suited her.
