Hello, Lady K again.
I was wondering. How do you find your familiar?
I mean is your familiar always a cat?
And if so, would my cat at home be my familiar?

What I've heard about finding a familiar is that you don't find it, they find you. You can send out "calls" of energy to your familiar and hope they come, but that's pretty much it from what I know.

Your familiar is not always a cat. Your familiar can be anything. What I've heard is that it doesn't even have to be an animal -- it could be on the spiritual plane as well.

No, your cat at home probably isn't your familiar. You could try asking it -- I asked my cat, and got a no. Your familiar isn't a pet. You have to show it respect. You can't just touch it without permission, or dress it in tiny dog sweaters, or treat it like a teddy bear. They're intelligent -- not that other animals aren't -- and they are your partner.

Everyone else, feel free to correct me if anything I said was misinformed, but that's pretty much how I feel about familiars.

I mostly agree with everything that has been said before, but my pet cat did turn out to be my familiar. I asked her and got a yes. Don't worry, you will find it. 3:>

You guys are really lucky. (: I've still not found my familiar yet. Anytime a strange animal shows up I always get curious if it could be my familiar LOL.
